Very close to the main strip but definitely secluded, giving the mountain cabin vibe. Place was very clean. Some improvements would be nice (leaks in shower ceiling, finish painting deck, etc.) but would not be dealbreakers.I'd rent this chalet again.
We are a family of 5 and the cabin was very big for our family with 3 levels of space. The couch even pulls out into a bed as well. The cabin was very clean and the kids enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. We could never figure out how to work the TV in the movie theater room so that was a bummer but overall the stay was great. I would recommend to large families to bring some extra plates, cups, and silverware because there was not a lot there and there was not a lot of cooking supplies such as a large skillet since there was only small skillets there. There was also not any cleaning supplies other than dish soap and dishwasher detergent. The view was very pretty and the location was really close to everything in pigeon forge. You can see the Ferris wheel from our cabin.
The hot tube didn't work the tv in bedroom was all snowy, Just felt old. needs to be remodeled ,Beds comfortable, Glass living room tables had dust and finger prints all over them.Could tell wasn't very clean feeling, Only two little bars of soap for 8 adults.
First of all the only thing âMountainsideâ about this âchaletâ is the name. Itâs off the main strip behind a gas station in a neighborhood full of identical âchaletsâ there is no yard or grass area really. Itâs like a glorified townhome. The blinds were soooooo dusty. They havenât been dusted in only God knows when. The stove filthy. A ton of mix match messy dishes. The bathrooms were decent but the linens. Terrible. Dingy. No bath mat. The sheets. Cheap thin awful scratch sheets. Thin comforter. Awful pillows. Hard mattress. The hot tub did not work so I was refunded $10a day, so a total of $30. I donât know who made up that figure but apparently thatâs what they give you. After a long day of traveling I came in to the heat being on. No one bothered to turn on the A/C before we arrived or check the hot tub. Which is a huge let down for four kids who brought their bathing suits. The slipcovers in the movie room. Disgusting. The tv was fuzzy. The carpet upstairs. FILTHY!!!! Garbage Disposal. Broken. When we arrive no one had bothered to sweep the deck or even put the grill cover back on. It was laying beside the grill. Upstairs is sooo hot. Even with the A/C as low as they will let you go which I believe was 68 or 69. And the remote for the fan upstairs was a mess and didnât work. So the fan was on low all weekend and since my family took the upstairs we were extremely hot. And trust me I heard more motorcycles then birds on this âmountainside.â Honestly if you can find something else. We stayed in basically like a Myrtle Beach area when we were looking forward to a mountain vacation. So if you like Myrtle Beach maybe you will like this.
I love the location was very quiet and close to everything. The only downside were the beds. Mattresses could use replacing. The beds were very uncomfortable besides that everything was wonderful!
We left a night earlier. My daughter was being bit by fleas and not from my dogs who were just at the vet prior . Upstairs bedroom had dog hair and dust all under the bed . The floors on the main floor had to be never cleaned considered I spilled something and used cleaner and a paper towel and it was black upon clean up. Grossed out by that I sprayed another spot and whipped it and my towel was very dirty again.Toilet on main floor ran for long period of time , so I shut it off at one point ! Refrigerator was very noisy also .
The pros were: The cabin is in a great location, very convenient to the island and Skyliner diner, and other things that we visited, including Dollywood and Parrot Mtn. It was also pet friendly, which is sometimes hard to find.
The cons were: The cabin definitely needs new mattresses and pillows. They were very uncomfortable. It also needs new pots and pans. Most of the Teflon is scraped off of the skillet so we ended up going out to buy our own so we could cook. We also couldn't get the TV in the theater room to connect to anything.
The fireside chalet staff was very responsive anytime we called with a question, and they tried to be helpful.
The subdivision was nice, close to the main parkway & easy to get to.
Now to the issues. 1) The BEDS! The beds were AWFUL. The mattresses were SO loud that we could hear when someone got in the bed or turned over from the upstairs & vice versa. Definitely not comfortable or relaxing. The linens were clean but felt like cardboard. The extra blankets for the beds were dirty and had an odor. 2) The cabin was filthy. The porches were dirty and covered in leaves. The dishwasher was full of dishes. We called to complain & the office sent a cleaning crew back out. They did clean the floors but there was still dust everywhere. 3) The washing machine did not work. I put the above mentioned dirty blankets in the washing machine & it filled with water & wouldnât do anything else. We had to call & they sent someone to look at it but it wasnât working for the duration of our trip. Due to the washing machine not draining it was full of stinky, dirty water that caused an odor. The washing machine was between the main floor bedroom & bathroom so we had to deal with the stench for 5 more days . 4) The hot tub wasnât working when we arrived. We had to call & they sent someone out to fix it. 5) There wasnât sufficient space for everyone to sit in the living room. 6) The furniture in this cabin was in horrible condition. 7) Check in was at 4:00 but the cabin wasnât ready. We were finally called around 5:30 to check in.
When we called the office the staff (Robin) was very helpful & kind.
The property has a great location. It is a very crowded and busy neighborhood and area but this house is at the end of the drive and has an amazing view! It is definitely adequate sized for a family of 6 or even 8 and lots of places to sleep. The lay out of the house is very odd, the newest and very nice shower and jacuzzi tub are on the lower level with the movie/game room and the kids bunk bed.
On a terrible note!!!! The hot tub was completely disgusting! My children were all about to get in it, and we didnât really notice anything except that it wasnât warm enough. So we turned up the temperature and in a little while the kids went and got in. It wasnât until night #2 that we adults were fixing to get in and when we removed the coverâŠâŠ. it smelled like very nasty, old, moldy and rotten water that had never been cleaned! It was completely horrible and the fact that I had Legionnaires only 3 years ago from a dirty hot tub scared me tremendously. I will be watching my children very closely to make sure they donât become ill!!!
Also, again the cleaners, the amount of dirt, dust and debris was insane. Under the furniture, on top of furniture and appliances and definitely on light fixtures and fans etc⊠The porches were covered in tree branches and limbs, and even cat feces. Oh, and donât forget extra blankets if you want to stay warm.
Now I am very easy going and canât recall ever giving a bad review, and I likely would not have said a word about anything. But the condition of the hot tub was ridiculous, disgusting and completely unacceptable!
My experience renting the property was âokayâ booking the property was very easy and the customer service reps at Fireside Chalet were nice and attentive however I had a few issues with my cabin of which I reported to the Fireside reps and was told the property manager would be calling me to follow up however I heard from no one.
The cabin and the neighborhood was beautiful. The cabin was NOT the cleanest. Dog poop was on the porch area under the chair. There were stains in the carpet of the upstairs master bedroom, the beds were very hard- not the most comfortable. Linen was left in the dryer from the previous renter, there were burn holes in the dining room table. In the basement level where the movie lounging section was there were couch covers on the couches and they were filthy. Things we did enjoy was the cabin look and feel. The entertainment like the pool table and hot tub the entire family enjoyed. We liked the space of the cabin just the right size to fit 8 ppl comfortablely. The amenities were up to date and looked nice. Overall we really enjoyed our family vacation we just wished the cabin was cleaned properly before we arrived.
The cabin is very nice and spacious, the amenities were as described. Could use a little TCLC, the carpet upstairs had a lot of stains and and the hot tub cover needs replaced as it is falling apart. But overall a very nice cabin.
found several places that needed to be cleaned. downstairs bathroom on the side had lots of hair stuck to it, drawer under the stove had lots of dust, and mouse poop. we loved everything else
I do feel like I overpaid for this property. No mountain views or any views at all!! Very old looking. Beds were ok. Upstairs carpet dirty! Hot tub dirty and old. outside of property, decks etc were filthy. dust, debris and cobwebs everywhere. Door handle kept falling. I honestly feel like the price was not worth the stay. Have definitely been to better cabins/chalets. My kids were feeling blah so we kept on going out to the attractions. pool was nice! and being closed to the attractions was also nice.
The experience was good, but the kitchen at the place needs to be better equipped with things!! Had to buy kitchen hand towels and dish clothes!! All the screen-storm doors are tore up!! The upstairs bathroom toilet seat is broke!! Not a bad place, but needs some maintenance done!!
We really enjoyed our time at this cabin! It was a perfect size for my group of 9. All the beds were very comfortable, especially the master bed upstairs. The downstairs spa bathroom was very nice. The hot tub worked great and the movie theater was very enjoyable to wind down at night after a long day out in pigeon forge. The pool table was also a big hit in any downtime we had. There were a few small issues like one of the toilet paper holders being broken, and there were very little cleaning supplies provided for checkout. The cabin being pet friendly was great as we hate to leave our fur babies at home, but you do have to walk to the end of the street and over a ways to find any suitable areas for them to use the bathroom. The home was easy to get to and extremely close to downtown, we could even slightly see the Ferris wheel at the island from where we were. Overall really enjoyable stay and weâd be happy to return!
We loved Mountain Side Chalet. Everything was just as listed for amenities and family and pet friendly. We loved having a balcony/deck on all 3 levels. The downstairs area is where the entire family spent most of their time-shooting pool, theater room and jacuzzi. We loved this place and will definitely book again. Itâs hard to find a nice rental that allows pets but this place was amazing. Check in was easy and everything was ready when we arrived.
Check in process was awesome.
The cabin was everything we needed for our stay. It was relaxing. We will definitely rent again in the future.
Thanks for making our stay wonderful.
