Grand appartement situé dans un quartier calme et paisible. Nous sommes à environ 20 modènes et 25 de Bologne, tous deux accessibles en voiture et en train depuis les villes de Castelfranco emilia et Bazzano, situées à environ 6 km. de la maison. Le centre du village de Piumazzo est à environ 500 mètres. où vous pouvez trouver des magasins, bars, pubs, restaurants et pizzerias. Les chambres sont spacieuses et lumineuses et chacune d'entre elles dispose d'une salle de bain dédiée de taille égale.

Lory and Mauro are wonderful and generous hosts. The apartment was even bigger and more beautiful than the pictures. They greeted us with the fridge and cupboards filled with food, and were happy to help with any need we expressed. The apartment has inside parking, a very well equipped kitchen, excellent beds in the bedrooms, and the entire apartment is beautifully decorated.Thank you for your lovely hospitality, we'd certainly be glad to come back again.

An outstanding welcome

The owners could not have been more welcoming, kind and generous! The flat is absolutely beautiful with everything you could possibly imagine inside. We had a wonderful stay visiting the beautiful cities of Modena, Parma and Bologna.

Fantastic stay!

We could not have enjoyed our stay more. The location is fabulous for visiting the area. Very centrally located. Mauro and Lorey were so welcoming and helpful. They provided many snacks, wine and gifts. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable. We truly hated to leave. We highly recommend!!

Everything was as described. Mauro and his lovely wife welcomed us when we arrived in the evening. We parked the car inside the gate and they showed us the appartment. It was clean and even nicer than what we seen from the pictures. We were suprised to find the kitchen filled with everything we needed to eat and drink. It was first time for us in this part of Italy. We spent 4 nights in the appartment and during the days we visited the Modena, Maranello and Bologna region. It was very nice to come home in the evening and relax in the appartment. The appartment is located in a friendly an quetly area.If you planning to stay in this region of Italy this is a perfect place to stay. Thank you !

3 nights in Italy

My family of 4 stayed over for 3 nights and enjoyed the property and hospitality of Mauro and Lory. The property was very clean and quite, equipped with everything we needed. It is also close to Ferrari and Lamborghini museums where we enjoyed visiting. I recommend this place without hesitation. host

Splendid Home!

Everything about Lory and Mauro’s place was perfect. The large apartment was beautifully decorated and furnished. We were provided an array of meats, cheeses, yogurt, biscuits, coffee, tea to name just a few. They are such warm and lovely people who provide not only friendliness but an exquisite stay in a great location. We would definitely return—stay there if you want an outstanding experience!

Delightful stay in Italian countryside.

As every other guest has said, Mauro and Lori are wonderful hosts. We were amazed by their generosity in welcoming us with a well-stocked refrigerator, including local meats, cheeses and wine. The apartment (house) is beautiful, very roomy, comfortable and well-equipped. There is a nice sized balcony perfect for morning coffee and an evening nightcap. The location is ideal for day trips throughout the Emilia Romana region. We are planning our return trip already.

We loved staying at Lory and Mauro's VRBO. The reviews of previous renters are all correct..it is a delightful property in a central location for visiting Emalia Romagno. Don't think twice about staying here .Just do it. You won't be sorry.

The perfect Italian country life

Perfect house, perfect apartment and the greatest hospitality of the owners, we ever had! The Italian countryside has many „surprises“ and is very interesting and there are two golfcourses within 20 minutes driving so that we changed our plans and didn’t even visit Modena and Bologna. We will have to come back to do this!

2nd stay at Casa di Lory!

We had such a great time on our first stay at Casa di Lory in 2023 that we repeated it in 2024! It was the first time(in over 30 years of short stay rentals in Western Europe) that we did that and we are glad that we did. Mauro and Lory continue to be amazing hosts (see all the "10" ratings and positive reviews from other renters) and the location is excellent for both train rides to neighboring cities and explorations into the countryside (see the comments of other renters). We recommend it highly.

This was the best VRBO we have stayed in.The hosts Mauro and Lory were the nicest kindest and hospitable people you could meet.They left our refrigerator filled with Wine and cheese and eggs and juice and snacks as well as other goodies.The apartment was spotless and large with amazing bathrooms and kitchen and bedrooms.It was amazing.Private gate with parking and the most beautiful patios.It was in the perfect location for Emilio Romagna.It was perfect

Beautiful flat, convenient for day trips

This apartment is truly a jewel. Situated between Bologna and Modena, it's a perfect location for day trips, and absolutely brand-new immaculate. The town itself is quiet and not touristic at all. When we arrived, the kitchen was stocked with food and beverages - very welcome indeed. The large apartment has 2 beds and baths, a large fully appointed kitchen and sitting room. Quite enough room to have privacy and shared spaces as well. Mauro is a truly gracious host. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Amazing stay

We had an amazing stay at Casa di Lori. The apartment is tastefully decorated, bathrooms are spacious and bedrooms have comfortable beds with electric dark out blinds for a restful sleep. Mauro & Lori are such gracious & thoughtful hosts - the fridge was well stocked with breakfast items, juice, milk with bottled water in their utility room which also has a washer & dryer, the bathrooms have all the amenities of a big hotel including toothbrush & tooth paste. Before our departure, they gave us a thoughtful handmade gift. The location is in a small town between Bologna & Modena - excellent location for exploration of the region but you'll need a car. The pizza restaurant in the small town centre was excellent. My husband & I are avid travellers & we have stayed in hotels & VRBO all over the world; this is one of the best, if not the best VRBO we've stayed at. Thank you Mauro & Lori!

The Perfect Apartment

Casa de Lory, It is a beautiful apartment located in the friendly town of Piumazzo. The apartment is well appointed, immaculate and comfortable. Our fantastic hosts Mauro and Lory were very gracious and friendly. The apartment exceeded our expectation. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast food and snacks. The apartment is located a short distance from Bologna in Modena. Parma is less than an hour away. We have been coming to Italy every year for the last 12 years and this property is one of the best we have ever stayed in. Mauro and Lory made us feel at home.

Wonderful spot just outside the city.

My husband and I just spent 4 nights in this wonderful spot. If you are looking for an amazing space but not in the city this should be your choice. 10 min drive to Castelfranco which has the train going in both directions to Modena or Bologna and beyond. Parking is easy to find near the station. The apartment is very well equipped with all you need to cook a meal or just have a coffee and snack. The beds are extremely comfortable and the choice of either hard or soft pillows was an added luxury. My husband was extremely impressed with the doors, windows and decor. It felt like a Fifth Avenue apartment. Mauro and Lory go above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable. Will definitely be back to this wonderful spot if we find our selves in this area again. Thank you!!!!

A truly wonderful stay in the perfect location!

Words cannot even begin to begin to capture how impressive this home is. Don't take just my word for it, read any other review and you will see the same message repeated. Mauro and Lory were such amazing hosts. Their home is 'light & bright,' stocked with several items that you just might forget to bring, and extremely comfortable and relaxing. Communication with them was easy and prompt. The location is very easy to navigate to, there is dedicated parking and it is an easy drive to any of the multitude of must-see spots (my wife and I wanted to tour makers of Parma ham, Parm-Reggiano cheese, and Modena Balsamic vinegar. This unit was centrally locate to all of them and I highly recommend the experience.). Also, there is a convenient train with a short ride to Bologna. I could go on, but if you were considering visiting the area I give the highest of recommendations to this home, you will not regret it. Mauro and Lory, thank you again for such an amazing experience staying in your home.

Arrive and feel at home... The landlords of the holiday flat are extremely friendly and helpful - but always pleasantly unobtrusive. And they are very generous: on our arrival, we were surprised to find a filled fridge, as well as various types of coffee capsules and tea, toast, pastries, juices, wine, etc. The apartment is very quiet despite its relative proximity to the motorway. The flat is very quiet despite its relative proximity to the motorway. Due to its central location in Emilia-Romagna, it is the ideal starting point for excursions to its cities rich in cultural history, such as Parma, Modena, Bologna or Ravenna. The flat itself is very tastefully furnished, in top condition and very clean. Air conditioning and shutters are invaluable, especially in summer. The two spacious bathrooms, each with a spacious shower, leave nothing to be desired. There were even bathrobes, slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste. As I said: Arrive and feel good!

Paradise in Piumazzo!

We were thrilled with our stay at this property. Mauro and Lory were wonderful hosts and have done a tremendous job making this a home away from home. We have stayed at quite a few rental places over the last 7 years and this was the best one by far. The attention to detail in how they have prepared the apartment and anticipated possible needs was very impressive. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bathrooms had every amenity, there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows, and so on. They were also available to answer our questions and were very quick to respond. Piumazzo is also a very convenient place to stay for a visit to this region, provided you have a car. It's an easy drive to places like Castelvetro or Monteveglio, which are great places for sights, food, and hiking. It's also easy to get to Modena and Bologna. We weren't comfortable with driving into the cities, so we just drove to Castelfranco and took the train in from there. It was very easy. If you are looking to explore this region, this is an excellent place to make your temporary home. We cannot recommend it more highly, and we look forward to returning and staying with Mauro and Lory again!

A casa di Lory is amazing, great value, completely remodeled, relaxing, spotless, beautiful!

Mauro and Lory are amazing hosts. We had a very relaxing 3 day stay at Casa di Lory. It is a great home base if you are exploring the Emilia-Romagna region. My family of 4 stayed comfortably in this 1 level apartment that has been completely remodeled. The hosts Mauro and Lory were amazing. It was a Sunday afternoon when we arrived and we were concerned about finding restaurants or a grocery store open in the area. They had already stocked the pantry and refrigerator with the staples we would need. The apartment itself is spotless. Beautiful plants and art, comfortable beds, perfect linen sheets and fluffy towels. They had thought of every detail of what we might need while we were there. It’s a quiet and serene environment in a beautiful neighborhood of locals which was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of a city like Milan. We appreciated being able to do our laundry while we were there as well. This is a great home base if your family or a few couples would like to explore the area (Bologna, Modena, the Ferrari museum). Mauro and Lory recommended restaurants nearby that were amazing. This entire area is a foodie heaven. If you are ready for a non-touristy relaxing experience I highly recommend booking A casa di Lory. Thank you Mauro and Lory!

Our family of 4 from Indiana is traveling Italy for a few weeks. We attended an event in Imola and stayed at a Casa di Lory. My family has stayed at many VRBO properties through the years. Lory and Mauro set the standard for hosts. The house was immaculate (we thought we were the first people to stay there), well-equipped (including beer, wine, water, food, coffee, tea, juices) and includes a parking spot. Beds, bathrooms, living areas, climate control (during record heat wave), porches and grounds are all outstanding. Everything in the apartment works and it is clear that the excellent hosts take pride in the unit. It is conveniently located and a short distance from Bologna, Imola, Modena, and Marenello as well as the Tuscan hills. We had no problems driving to the apartment and around the area. It is beautiful. If there is a master class in how to set up and run a bed-and-breakfast / vacation rental, Lory and Mauro should teach it. Our family is trying to see a lot of Italy in a fairly compressed time. I wish we could have stayed a couple days longer at Casa di Lory and explored the area. If you are traveling to the greater Bologna area, don’t think twice. Stay at Casa di Lory. Stay a few extra days. Lory e Mauro, grazie Mille! 10/10.

Fantastic base to explore from!

We stayed for 6 nights while exploring the cities, villages and foods of Emilia-Romagna. Of all the vacation rentals we’ve stayed in around the world we’ve never had such a welcoming reception. Mauro and Lori greeted us and walked us through the apartment to familiarize us with everything. They had stocked the refrigerator with all kinds of quality of supplies. It was like being welcomed by family who knows what you like and has prepared your favorite things. Unfortunately just prior to arriving, my wife had developed a stomach virus and struggled for a couple days. Once Lori learned of the issue she insisted on calling her doctor friend who promptly made a house call to help diagnose the problem. He was great — and prescribed something that quickly helped her recover. Lori’s kind and compassionate insistence really helped save our vacation. The house, garden and property are so nice and beautifully maintained. Lori has incredible sewing talents and she has added beautiful decorating touches throughout the apartment. You can see and feel the love and effort both Mauro and Lori put into their home and rental. You feel like you’re at a 5-star hotel with more space, tasty treats and additional amenities. They’ve thought of everything. Mauro and Lori are a very special couple who provide a wonderful stay and experience. Can’t say enough good things about it!

Stop searching!! This is the one!

This is, without a doubt, the most lovely rental you will find in the Emilia region. Mauro and Lory’s home is spacious, elegant, comfortable and sparkling clean. It is perfectly appointed with taste and care. Lory has attended to every detail and has anticipated every possible need of her guests. Imagine the style and amenities of a five star hotel combined with the comforts and convenience of home. You may begin to get an idea of this ideal rental. 


The apartment is located half-way between Bologna and Modena with easy access to major roads making it easy to visit the beautiful towns of the Emilia region including Bologna, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma, as well as the charming hill towns. Mauro and Lory’s apartment is a quiet oasis surrounded by a well tended garden and a peaceful balcony. The pictures on the website fail to show just how lovely the space is. In addition, the fully functioning air conditioning available in all the rooms of the apartment were a blessing during the heatwave. Mauro and Lory graciously provided an abundance of healthy and delicious food and drinks which we fully appreciated after our late arrival to the apartment. Our choices for breakfast the next morning were as bountiful as the gorgeous spread pictured on the website. 


Mauro and Lory were friendly, welcoming, and generous with their time. We cannot recommend enough staying at Casa Mauro and Lory. It was a vacation we will never forget. A presto e grazie mille!
