A group of us stayed here for the Great North Run. The location was perfect and also the fact there were a number of rooms that were all ensuite was a real bonus for us as we were a group of couples. The bedrooms were nice, the bedding, towels and bat mats were all nice and clean. The carpets throughout were a little bit sticky and the floors in the kitchen and bathroom were slippery (which is probably build up of cleaning product). The items in the kitchen required cleaning before use. The communal living room was small and the chairs uncomfortable, it's not really a relaxing area but was ok for us to sit and watch a film. The TVs are great. There is only one back door and one front door key so this is a bit of an issue when sharing with a group but they can be left in a key safe. There was a bit of an issue for us on the last night (early hours of the morning) when we were woken by the owner who got her dates wrong. It was sorted quickly but meant that a few of us were then facing a long journey home after disturbed sleep. But overall, if you just need a base that is close to Newcastle, for a group, and you're not going to be there much, then this is ideal.
We had an amazing experience in this beautiful place!! Everything was like they express on the publication. If we have to come back to Newcastle Upon Tyne, I will definitely book this property again
We were a group of colleagues staying in the house while working at the Theatre in the city centre. The property is super easy to get to - a few minutes walk to the metro or not much in an Uber from the centre. The rooms are large and all have new ensuites with really good showers. The communal areas are plenty large enough for a big group. There is off street parking (we managed to squeeze two cars in) as well as free on street parking. Overall a great stay!
The house was clean and tidy, and on first appearances seemed very good. There were a few minor problems and 1 which I thought was extremely dangerous.
The drier does not work and the front right cooker ring does not stay lit.
There were food items left in the fridge and one of the cupboards. Some were well past their use by date and there was mouldy spread in the fridge.
In the downstairs front room bed was a very sharp piece of broken plastic cup. This could have caused a very nasty cut, if laid on, it could even have been life threatening of an artery had been severed.
I would suggest that all out of date foodstuffs are disposed of before new occupants arrive?
We did enjoy our stay there and, would use again in the future. The few problems need to be checked out and rectified first though
