Had a great time here! We were able to walk to both downtown Black Mountain and Montreat. Hiked Lookout Mountain one day, drove to Asheville another. The house had everything we needed, including a fully fenced yard.
We had a great time in Black Mountain. The house is quaint and in a great location. We did some hiking in Montreat which is less than a two mile drive from the house. Downtown is less than a mile walk which we did on two occasions (once for dinner and once for a festival that was going on). You are also just a short, 20 minute drive into Asheville if you want a few more dining/shopping options. We enjoyed a cold beverage while sitting on the covered front porch in the evenings. Nice way to end the day.
We came as a group to "run" the mt mitchell challenge/black mountain marathon. We were supposed to have 12 but ended up with 6 due to poor weather. The house easily could have slept 12! It was a perfect location for the start of the race with close proximity to downtown. The house is comfortable, clean, and has a lot of character. There are plenty of parking spaces. I will most likely stay here again if I come back to Black Mountain.
Charming home with plenty of room. Host responded quickly to our questions on arrival.
We had a great time with plenty of space for two families. Would have really enjoyed one more shower (will check bathroom amenities more closely next time) but the claw foot tub was nice after a long day. The owner was kind and responsive. Highly recommend if having one shower wonât be an issue.
The kitchen and beds were amazing. The one bathroom with a shower was very nice. Would love to come back and visit this house as well as the surrounding area.
The owner was very understanding of our group and set it up gorgeously before we arrived. Linens were all fresh and wonderfully laid out, and there was plenty of room for all 12 of us to relax during the evenings. Five stars, but the only negative is the bathroom situation: only one shower. No one used the bathtub, and it was tough to negotiate showers, given our limited time in the house. Just a minor issue. Regardless, thanks for the great stay!
We stayed for a weekend with ~9 ladies in this cute bungalow. It seems to be a new property, but both Julie and Aaryn were always available to answer questions.
Pros: loads of beds, characteristic decor, lots of parking, new appliances - eat in kitchen.
Cons: Mattresses soft to our tastes, slight musty smell, 2nd bath with tub only not convenient to getting lots of people cleaned up, could use clearer occupancy instructions.
We had a great experience staying in this cozy cottage. It has lots of places to sleep. Anything we needed the owner was right there to help out. We were glad it was pet friendly. It was a beautiful town with lots of good restaurants!
Fun loving animal and outdoor enthusiast. Local floral farmer and mountain biker. Enjoys meeting new people and sharing Black Mountain's wonderful community with others.
Perfect location! Quiet spot near to lots of hiking trails and nature spots, but close enough to Asheville shops, museums, and nightlife. Black Mountain offers quaint small town shops, asheville offers unique nightlife and Montreat offers serenity. What more could anyone need?
Great house with lots of options for great for your pets, fully fenced yard, front and back...Comfortable and cozy. Murphy bed pulls down for extra queen sleeping! Firepit in backyard for roasting marshmellows. Clawfoot tub for soaking after hiking or exploring Asheville sights.
