Thank you for a lovely stay... the cabin had everything we needed.. Especially loved proximity to Pohara beach and cycle way to Takaka.
Margaret hd left some homemade kiwi treats which made it extra special.
Brilliant location for visiting Golden Bay, close enough to walk to the beach, but not far to drive to explore all the area has to offer. Don't miss the Labyrinth or the Domain - incredible rock formations.
I thought the property was fantastic. All the amenities you would need for a stay by the beach and in a wonderful location. It was lovely and peaceful an absolutely fantastic place to staylocation.
A dear wee modern take on a fully functional cabin. Bunks ( really for children but coped with two adults, one rather hefty one lol) actually in behind half wall- not two bedrooms. Kitchen sink outside and not undercover- so fair weather washing up. Very well appointed with large fridge, quality seating and some generous basics- herbs etc. some home baking and âmarvellous Margâ( should be an official title) to greet and look in on outs for the stay.Nice wee bit of grass to sit out o. Sunny aspect, beach across road. Walking distance to shop and cafe and pub. Easy access to all the area has to offer. Highly recommend for a comfortable down to earth accommodation- love it! And of course exceptional hosts.
This bach is a converted garage. It is well set up for a younger couple or family. However we are aged, and did not find it suitable in several ways. One was property access. There is no gutter cut-out; instead two large heavy chocks to be manhandled into place. Even then, we sustained some vehicle damage as we drive a little car. We should've parked roadside. A large vehicle would have no difficulty, and younger folk could shift the chocks easier than us.
The main bed is comfortable, and the (petitioned) bunks adequate for children. However (at 64), I was extremely uncomfortable in a bunk with a thin mattress.
The bathroom is so small, the toilet has to be sat on at a 45° angle. The steo into the shower was too high for my father to access, so he was unable to shower all week. The sink was too tiny for him to do a full body wash
The kitchen sink is outside, which is ok in good weather. The covered outside kitchen is well equipped. Our hostess even left us a pot of homemade jam.
The bach would be great for a young family. There is a variety of toys, books and even coloured sheets of art paper.
It is very clean, as are the linens.
Pohara is an excellent place to stay.
