It feels warm here. This open suite gives you a space large enough to sprawl out in without losing the cozy softness of the cottage by the sea. The open concept keeps you connected with only the bathroom being separate. The kitchen is minimal, but includes an induction hot plate, air fryer / oven, microwave and sink. The plush, dark chair will fold down to accomodate an extra guest if the bed's capacity has been reached. There is yard access which abuts the bay for wave, and weather and waterfowl watching.
Great location with a really good bar/ restaurant nearby. Fairly compact but contains all you need when all you want to do is go out and explore the island. Very clean and beautifully decorated.
Everything about the process and stay was clear and professional. Enjoyed the room, the village and the ease of getting around from this central location.
A very well appointed and located sea-side charmer. Clean as a whistle, comfy beds, beautiful linens and decor. The management was welcoming and very helpful. And it is next to a great eatery/bakery and steps from the well stocked community grocer/convenience store.
Cute cottage with 2 units in it, one at front and one at back. We stayed in the front one. It had a very comfortable queen bed, with small kitchen area & sitting area with table & chairs along with chaise lounge & a sofa. It held all essentials - mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, etc., that one needed for the 2 nights we were there. It was quite cosy & comfortable with the fireplace going as the evenings were still quite chilly being that it was the start of May.
I am from a very small town in North Interior BC and now work on the Central Coast. Hosting has appealed to me since my travels in Europe and my experiences with Couchsurfing. Once at home, I offered my home as a couchsurfing destination as a way to meet people and help out travellers as I was helped in my travels. Now that I work away from Haida Gwaii, I am not in the residence to welcome people in a Couchsurfing setting, but it also leaves the suite open and ready to offer people the warm comfort it offers me in my time there :)
Port Clements offers a perfect balance on Haida Gwaii. Naikoon Provincial Park and North Beach are some of my favourite places in the world and the hour drive to reach North Beach makes it an easy and relaxed day trip while maintaining proximity to the southern portion of Graham Island. This is not to mention the opportunities right in Port Clements such as the Yakoun River and the Golden Spruce Trail along it's bank, offering you the sights of the tragic story of eco-war turning to eco-terror.
This property gives you unfettered access to Masset Inlet, whoâs waves crash on the breakwater and spray over the lawn in a storm, or whoâs calm waters attract waterfowl right to your backyard on a calm day. The suite itself has an unparalleled patina of seashore cottage with an ambience of warmth that will leave you with one of those feelings you will remember when you leave.
