Itâs truly a great spot and Darren is an excellent host!! A one minute walk from the public boat launch so our days were spent on the lake and evenings in the house cosy! Beautiful backyard and pond is a bonus!
Darren was a great host and we enjoyed our stay near Ruby Lake. The accommodation had everything we needed and was a short walk from the lake. It was nice to be in a place where the only sounds were from the birds and frogs (no traffic noise!).
We had a fantastic stay at Indigo Cottage! The cottage is very clean, spacious, and full of charm â a peaceful place to unwind. Itâs just a short walk to stunning Ruby Lake, which was perfect for paddle boarding and swimming. Even on a rainy day the cottage was warm and cozy â a great spot to relax indoors. Our host was incredibly helpful and provided excellent suggestions for nearby places to explore. One tip is to grab groceries on your way in, as there arenât stores nearby. We loved our time here and are already planning our next trip back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Indigo Cottage. The cabin was very clean and well-appointed with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The beds were very comfortable (both king and trundle), and the ceiling and portable fans were a blessing with the summer heat. We enjoyed exploring the area and swimming in the blue/green water at Ruby Lake. On a quiet evening or morning we often saw deer and other wildlife around the property. Access to the shared floating dock made it easy to get our stand-up paddle board into the water. Darren was an excellent host and was very prompt at answering any questions we had. We hope to come back in the future!
Wonderful long weekend at this beautiful property. The cottage is spotless and spacious, and provides everything you may need to prep a meal. The host is hospitable and very welcoming. Highly recommend.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights in September. We really appreciated how comfortable and well-equipped the cottage was. We enjoyed the outdoor space, so quiet and peaceful. The owner's manual is great, and it was easy to follow the "rules" for recycling and garbage. Highly recommend.
What an awesome cottage to stay in! Love the proximity to Ruby Lake and Darren is an awesome host. He was welcoming and said hello, and made you feel comfortable but then did his own thing and gave you space, as he lives at the adjacent lot. The place is stocked really well with a nice barbeque, patio furniture, washer dryer, towels, etc. etc. I really liked the natural products that were stocked. I thought that was a great touch. The bedroom is upstairs in a loft and the bedding is nice and new and good quality.Bathroom is downstairs, so be careful if you walk downstairs at night. The only thing I'd suggest is having more curtains at the front of the house. Not all the curtains have windows as they don't need them, but I think they are needed in the front just to feel a little bit more private. However, this isn't a dealbreaker at all. We had an awesome four day stay and we will be back!
My partner and I were looking for a quiet weekend getaway at a lake, and found the perfect location with Indigo Cottage. At just a short 2-3 minute walk from the Ruby Lake, the water is easily accessible while being just far enough to not hear the sounds of other lake-goers.
The cottage had everything we needed and more, from the spacious, open main floor to the upper bedroom area. The south facing patio with BBQ was a treat to use, as well as the cottage grounds containing a small body of water at the end that was great for watching wildlife.
Darren was a great host. He was very welcoming and communicative, and even provided butter and olive oil when we realized we forgot to bring some!
I would stay at Indigo Cottage again in a heartbeat. My only regret was not staying longer than 2 nights!
