Your home rental requires you cooperation and compliance with simple common sense house rules and Marco Island ordinances.
Overall our trip was incredible. We spent 10 amazing days in Marco Island. The house provided us with everything we needed to live comfortably as well as all of the beach gear a family would need. We did need to rent our own bikes which was not a problem, but there were bikes at the house just not accessible to renters. We had some minor issues with the AC (although the weather was beyond hot that week) and the management company sent someone out to help us remedy the situation within the hour. The location of the property was fabulous. Close enough to bike to the beach, miniature golf, shop, and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay!
The house was beautiful, well stocked and just what we were hoping for. If we ever come back to Marco Island, we would stay here again. We don't really have any negatives to speak of, but the comments below are really more of advice for the realty company managing the property.
There needs to be more guidance for the following:
- Trash - When we arrived, trash cans were placed in front of the garage. We came back on our first day from running around, there was code violation taped to the garage door. Apparently, on non-trash days, trash cans should not be visible from the street. If we had known to put them away we would have done so.
- Wi-Fi password was wrong on the information packet we picked up.
- A/C - The house has multiple thermostats in different zones and probably should have more information on how to control the different zones. The upstairs room never got cool and we never able to figure out if it was a problem with the A/C or an issue with the zonal operation.
- We booked our reservation through VRBO. The amenities never really spoke to things like beach chairs, umbrellas etc. But thankfully they were available and we gladly used them for our time on the beach. There were bikes in the garage, fishing poles etc., but it wasn't clear what was available for use. It didn't impact us, I would just be more explicit about what guests have access to for their stay.
All in all, great house!
The realty company was very responsive so no complaints there either.
