Tranquility Base ~ Northern Coromandel

Need to escape the hustle & bustle of the city? Looking for an all seasons comfortable retreat and base in a world of your own? Then this 3 bedroom well positioned home overlooking the Pacific could be just the treat to reconnect and recharge!

Tranquility Base is a spacious coastal home with easy indoor/outdoor flow and comfortable open-plan living spaces. Woodburner in the living area and 2 heaters. The new designer kitchen includes a dishwasher and is fully equipped for foodies! Three bedrooms - master and 2nd bedroom with ocean views and french doors onto the deck. The 3rd bedroom has french doors opening on the BBQ patio. The master bathroom has a claw foot bath, shower, vanity, and toilet. A second toilet is located off the laundry room. We use quality 100% cotton sheets.

Set on over an acre of land with fruit trees, mature specimen native trees (Puriri, Nikau Palms), lawn areas with seating, a paved BBQ area. Sign-posted nearby walking tracks to the rocky seashore down below the house.

Keeping in touch - WIFI and mobile coverage excellent.

Tuateawa is approximately a 35-minute drive north-east of Coromandel Town. There are no shops or restaurants out this way. The house pantry is stocked with basic pantry items and cleaning goods.

Off the beaten track, this coastal area has a spectacular rocky coastline with high cliffs and rocky foreshore, and fabulous flora and fauna - a true nature lover's paradise. Beautiful white sand beaches are located south at Kennedy Bay (6 km) or north 6 km to Little Bay and Waikawau.

Day trips can be comfortably taken from Tranquility Base to explore further north - Little Bay, Waikawau Beach (surf beach) or visit Colville, Port Charles, Stony Bay.

FISHING - There is plenty of room to park the boat/s as well as a fish cleaning area. Rough launch at Tuateawa, OK in calm whether or you can drive to Kennedy Bay south - launch at the beach

Remote hideaway for peace and quiet

Lovely property, tucked away above the natural fauna high on a hill with spectacular ocean views from the lounge, dining area and two main bedrooms, not to mention the surrounding deck. An extra bedroom off the kitchen leading to a BBQ area and hot tub. The burner was a bonus keeping the house warm day and night, very cosy. This was a long-earned rest we needed, away from society and the hustle and bustle of town life.

All good! but one thing was a shame.

There were no beach excess by walking around property. It was too far rather than expected. Most fishing spots were blocked by private properties.. Except fishing and snorkel, overall was goood.

We booked this bach at the last minute as our tent booking at the nearby DOC campsite was going to be rained out. It was 13 mins away from our favourite beach set in beautiful bush. When the misty rain finally cleared the views of the ocean were gorgeous. The bach is well appointed in terms of amenities- just bring cooking oil. There wasn’t any in the pantry and no shops just down the road. Sadly the dishwasher was not working but otherwise everything else was great. Great TV for the Winter Olympics. Due to the rain we had ants everywhere inside but probably not a problem if the weather is dry. A lovely home for making the most of the amazing environment.

A really well appointed property that lacked for nothing in terms of facilities, especially the kitchen which we made extensive use of. Also supplemented by a good BBQ. Spacious rooms with quality beds. The view is better than the photos & we even got a large pod of dolphins moving across our vista. Dining area, Wifi & TV facilities all very good. The deck area is of course fabulous & although we didn't use the laundry that also appeared very well appointed. No hesitation in recommending & will consider returning.

Such a stunning spot

Position, position, position. This property has the most drop dead gorgeous views over the ocean. There is a stony beach a 10 minute walk away. The house is spacious and comfortable with a wonderfully equipped kitchen. We stayed 4 nights but would have liked longer. The roads and drive over the peninsular to get there are not for the feint hearted but totally worth the effort once you get there.
