Nestled just steps from the lagoon beach with a playground for the kids and a BBQ, and within reach of East Beach and George Town (5 minutes by car), this home offers the ideal balance of adventure and relaxation.

Outdoor Oasis: Start your day on the deck with a cup of coffee in hand, or unwind in the hammock as the sea breeze drifts by. After a day at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower, then gather around the firepit for an evening under the stars.

Living Areas: Inside, you'll discover a blend of timber interiors and quirky decor that exudes warmth and character. The spacious living room, with its cosy fireplace and thoughtfully chosen furnishings, is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploration.

Family-Friendly Spaces: The kitchen-dining area, with a table that seats ten, is designed for shared meals and good conversation. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to whip up family favourites, while the adjacent deck provides an ideal spot for indoor-outdoor living.

Bedrooms: Upstairs, two bedrooms offer a peaceful retreat. The main bedroom features a king-sized bed and a private balcony where you can catch a glimpse of the ocean, while the second bedroom, with its four single beds, brings a touch of nostalgia reminiscent of camp days. There are two fold-out sofa beds in the second living room, available upon request, each accommodating one additional guest. Please note that there is an additional fee for using these beds.

Convenient Amenities: With ample off-street parking and a secure backyard, your stay is as convenient as it is comfortable. The nearby beachfront, complete with a BBQ and play area, adds to the family-friendly appeal.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the house at any time via a lockbox. Please note the upstairs loft which is accessed from the entry is not for guest use.

Low Head is a charming coastal town nestled at the mouth of the Tamar River on the stunning northern coast of Tasmania. With a neat and well-presented appearance and a population of around 500 residents, it offers a small yet picturesque community. It's conveniently situated right next door to the town of George Town which boasts a range of amenities, shops, restaurants and cafes, ensuring that guests have access to all essentials.

As part of Tasmania's stunning northern coastline, Low Head boasts picturesque beaches, scenic coastal walks, and an array of water-based activities. Whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll along the sandy shores or eager to indulge in boating and fishing, the coastal landscapes offer a delightful backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts.

Renowned for its maritime heritage and strong connection to the sea, Low Head's history is beautifully preserved at the Maritime Museum of Tasmania. Here, you can explore a wealth of maritime artefacts and delve into the town's seafaring past. Dominating the coastal landscape is the iconic Low Head Lighthouse, a proud symbol of the town's history.

Lagoon Beach, with its serene, curved bay stretching approximately 700 metres long, provides an ideal spot for a refreshing dip in the sheltered waters, complete with a BBQ and nearby play area. Nearby, you'll discover the secluded Pilot's Bay, offering calm waters and panoramic views of the iconic Pilot's station, perfect for a leisurely paddle.

For surfers and boogie boarders, East Beach, just a brief 2-minute drive away, boasts an extensive stretch of sandy shoreline and breathtaking views of the Low Head Lighthouse. If you're fond of lengthy beach strolls, East Beach is the perfect destination with its 4.5km shoreline. Here, you can also enjoy undercover BBQ facilities and all-abilities beach access.

One of the highlights of Low Head is the opportunity to witness adorable fairy penguins. These delightful creatures call Low Head home and can be spotted on guided tours or during their nightly pilgrimage to the shores, offering a unique and heartwarming experience for nature enthusiasts.

For those seeking adventure, George Town offers the renowned George Town Mountain Bike Trails, catering to mountain biking enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Low Head and George Town's proximity to the Tamar Valley wine region makes them an excellent base for exploring local vineyards and enjoying tastings of world-class wines. Nearby Dilston and Hillwood offer opportunities to pick your own berries and enjoy farm-fresh produce, further adding to the neighbourhood's appeal for food and beverage enthusiasts.

With its convenient location approximately a 35-minute drive from Launceston, Low Head serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the broader region.

Getting Around

Due to Low Head's location, guests will need to have access to a car.

Notes

We warmly welcome dogs to join you for a coastal getaway. Kindly note that there will be an additional $100 pet cleaning fee for pet stays. We kindly ask that you clean up after your furry friend. No cats please.

There are 2 fold-out sofa beds in the second living room which are available upon request, accommodating 1 additional guest each. There is an additional fee of $35 per sofa bed if guests would like to use these.

Children welcome - please be aware there is a flight of stairs without a safety gate.
