It's my fault for not reading the reviews but the property was not listed as shared and that this listing is a basement apartment, not the whole house. The owner live upstairs with small children that like to run, jump and scream at 7am. The "kitchen" doesn't have adequate ventilation for the range that is in there, not sure how that passed inspection. The listing mentions a fire pit but it's inside a gated yard on the patio outside of the living room upstairs and it's not clear if it's accessable. This is misleading and is the reason I'm done with VRBO.

Nice quiet stay

Property is in a nice area. Host is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Booked an overnight and was so impressed I booked another night on a return trip a few days later. Will look to book again in the future.

Great bridge rental!

Needed a safe place close to KC for the week in between 2 annual leases. This was a great home base for the end of my summer internship. Host is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you!

I'm sorry you feel that way. But you should be aware not break into places your not permitted to enter. Doors are locked for a reason.

Simple surroundings

Ethel was extremely helpful and has quick responses. Needed a room to sleep in while moving my daughter out of the dorms in Olathe. Arrived late from the airport with no problem finding the location or getting in. Kitchen area is nice, bathroom and bedroom were old but seemed clean. Cat odor was present. One sleeping pillow besides decorative pillow on bed for two people. Bring your own toiletries.

Thank you for letting me host you and your daughter. I do want to let you know both pillows on the bed are for our guest to use. If more is ever needed in the future I would be happy to provide it and I apologize about the ordor but we don't have any cats , but I will be mindful of the smell going forward. I would be happy to make any changes needed to make your stay more comfortable.Safe travels.

Nice Neighborhood

If you want to stay in a nice, clean, safe neighborhood. This place is for you. If you think toilet paper, bath towels, paper towels, kitchen towels or rags should be supplied. This place in not for you. It is a basement house and of course I figured there would be some noise from upstairs. Though, in the rules it states quiet time from 9pm to 9am. Upstairs does not follow this......children running, crying, screaming until 11 pm our fist night. Better the next 2 nights. Our last night had water coming into our bathroom from upstairs. When I called, the owner did answer and asked if she needed to bring towels. I told her I already clean it up. She did apologize and said she would bring towels in the morning. She never did. We left at 10am. We will not be returning.

I was in town on business and I work 3rd shift. I made the property own and property business manager know at time of booking. There was no common courtesy to the fact the I needed to sleep. I reported this to the owner on site and after it continued I then reported it to the management company and it still continued. The pictures are deceptive as you are renting the basement. The basement is not finished from what I’m assuming was a rushed half a** remodel job. The ceiling tiles look like they came from a scene out of the horror movies saw. Now that I think about it the whole room (basement) looks like a saw movie. I will nvr rent from another property that is managed by ELVOLE AGAIN. However I have nvr had a problem with any property I have rented through Vrbo alone.

I felt like I was scammed...

“Putting lipstick on a pig,” sums up this VRBO property. It’s dark and dingy. The photos are washed out with light to make this place look livable. At first, I was greeted by an odorous assault of Glade plug-ins. I spent the evening sneezing and blowing my nose, wondering what stench the plug-ins had intended to cover up. The bathroom hosted a profuse stench of urine. There were various bugs, debris, stains, burn marks, and blankets with animal hair throughout the apartment. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. The sheetrock, paint, electric panels, and drop ceiling were all abysmal and embarrassing to look at. Upon waking up after night one, I found it difficult to breathe through my nose or mouth and my eyes were swollen. Of all that I could smell, cat was the most prevalent scent. I am deathly allergic to cats. I proceeded to contact the host and Evolve, telling them I needed to vacate the property. They gave me an option to have a cleaner come. They informed me, “they had never owned cats, nor have cats been in the space.” My body’s reaction proved otherwise! I told them that, that would not work to rectify the situation. I requested a refund after only one of my thirteen-night stay was used, which they, sort-of, granted. They gave me a pittance of 1/5th of the total cost I paid! The folks that gave negative reviews are 100% in the right here. I suppose this place may be suitable if your only other option is sleeping in the gutter. STAY FAR AWAY!

Very comfortable apartment and great location. Lovely family Ethel and her family are so nice and helpful. Toilet flap needs to be replaced, it does not seat properly, easy fix I forgot to tell you. Oops!

Nice big shower, bed big enough for me and my girlfriend to stay. Popped in and out to explore the city. Wasn’t bothered by it, but didn’t know this was the basement of a family’s house.
