This is a heated, indoor facility where you'll get to store your skis, boards, and boots. Summer guests will appreciate having air conditioning, which is not a standard amenity in condos around here. At any time of year, this property gives you immediate access to attractions, activities, events, shops, restaurants, and more. We've added a list of local and condo amenities below, but this condo offers so much more than a fantastic location and the ultimate in ski slope convenience - this condo is spacious and luxurious, with owners who have curated the property to provide the perfect home base for your visit. The Property:
With over 1500 square feet, condo is much larger than your average 2-bedroom condo. Each spacious bedroom features a king size bed, a mirrored dresser, a chair or chaise, a large walk in closet, and direct access to a dedicated bathroom. The open floor plan in the main living area combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen into one big space. High ceilings, hardwood floors, plush furniture, and an impeccable style make this a warm, inviting, and comfortable space. Enjoy fresh air and sunsets from the large private wraparound balcony which can be accessed from the kitchen, living room, and first bedroom. The balcony includes lounge furniture, dining furniture, a gas grill, and views of surrounding mountains. Transportation & Getting Around:
Steamboat's free bus system picks up and drops off on this block. From here, the buses proceed directly to the supermarkets and then the ski area base. Coming home is an equally direct route. Buses are frequent - not much need to even check the schedule, but you can hop on the Steamboat Springs Transit site to check bus locations in real time, if you like.
Location & Attractions:
There is so much to do and see in downtown, and it changes seasonally. In the winter you have the local ski area, Howelsen Hill, right across the river. Howelsen Hill is part of Emerald Mountain, a city park and North America's oldest operating ski area, and Steamboat's Olympian training ground. You have a view of it from the condo's balcony. Featured at Howelsen Hill are miles of trails for Nordic / cross country skiing, alpine skiing & snowboarding, snowshoeing, snow tubing, and a free sledding hill. In summertime, Howelsen Hill / Emerald Mountain transforms and offers an array of activities, including "The Howler" alpine slide, horseback rides, skate park, BMX track, hiking & mountain biking trails, baseball fields, volleyball courts, tennis & pickleball courts, playgrounds, and more. Summertime in Steamboat means downtown has weekend farmer's markets, rodeos, parades, car shows, free concerts, fishing and river tubing, exploring the Yampa Valley Core Trail or one of the many biking or hiking trails that originate in downtown, athletic events and competitions, the list goes on and on. Year round, the Old Town Hot Springs is open, with mineral water hot springs, fitness & wellness programs, even a climbing wall and waterslides. Also year round, the indoor ice rink offers inexpensive free skate sessions as well as bumper cars on ice. We can not guarantee that the elevator will be in service, and there will be no refunds if service is interrupted. It is one flight of stairs up to the condo from the street entrance, and two flights up from the garage.
– Parking - First, please note that you don't really need a vehicle when you stay at this condo. The condo comes with one reserved space in the building's heated underground parking garage. Free parking is available right outside, but the city regulates street parking and overnight parking is not allowed on the street in some seasons. So, if you will have more than one vehicle, and / or a trailer, please look up and review the City of Steamboat's website for parking options and regulations for the dates of your visit. The city rules change seasonally and may change year to year. Please feel free to contact us to discuss parking options. Consider carpooling, and if you're flying in, consider airport shuttles. – 4 Wheel Drive Recommendation - The in-town roads leading to this property are generally well maintained and not particularly challenging or difficult to navigate. However, please note that your route to the area may include a mountain pass, and that winter weather can impact road conditions quickly. When traveling during snow and winter weather conditions, some combination of 4 Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive, tires with good tread, tire chains, or winter driving experience is helpful and recommended.
