Wake with the Kangaroos: Sunrise Cabin Escape in Mudgee
Tucked among granite boulders and native bushland, the Sunrise Cabin invites you to greet the day with golden light streaming through the trees. This cozy, eco-friendly retreat features a queen bed, outdoor bathtub under the stars, kitchenette, and private BBQ. Step outside to spot kangaroos grazing at dawn, wander walking tracks across the 25-acre property, or simply sit back and breathe in the quiet. Every detailâfrom the upcycled furnishings to the natural bath saltsâhas been crafted with care, sustainability, and comfort in mind.
A beautiful cabin that had everything you needed & much more. It was so peaceful, a great spot to rest and recharge. Great coffee machine. My favourite was soaking in the bath as the sun set to then be blanketed by a million stars..just delightful.
A beautiful cabin set on a farm with beautiful sunsets. Everything that you would need for two people. Nice touches with organic and natural products in the bathroom and kitchen and beautiful outdoor tub under the stars. Great stay for a weekend away and great communication with the owners. Would definitely stay again
I grew up in the city, surrounded by concrete and busy schedules. Seven years ago I decided to make a change and moved to Frog Rock, where the air feels cleaner, the stars shine brighter, and life moves at a pace that feels human again. Hosting became a natural extension of that decision. What I enjoy most is watching guests settle inâseeing shoulders drop as the calm of the property works its quiet magic. For me, itâs about creating a space where people can reconnect with themselves, with each other, and with nature. Every guest brings their own story, and itâs a privilege to share in those moments while offering a place that encourages rest, creativity, and a different way of living.
The Mudgee region drew me in with its mix of raw beauty and community spirit. Frog Rock, in particular, felt like it had a voice of its ownâthe granite boulders, the native bush, the wildlife all seemed to say, âslow down, youâre home now.â Beyond the natural setting, the area offers an incredible food and wine culture, with local growers and winemakers who are as passionate about sustainability as I am. Itâs a place that balances quiet seclusion with vibrant experiences just down the road. Choosing this area wasnât just about buying land; it was about finding a place where regenerationâboth of the environment and of peopleâfeels possible and tangible every day.
Rest Easy sits on 25 acres of bushland dotted with ancient granite boulders and alive with kangaroos, kookaburras, and native flora. The land is cared for through a regenerative approach, letting nature lead the way in restoring balance. What makes it stand apart, though, is the blend of sustainability and creativity woven into the stay itself. Each cabin and guest suite is furnished with pieces Iâve crafted through my upcycling project, The Crafty Wombats. These arenât mass-produced itemsâtheyâre one-of-a-kind, rescued from landfill and reborn with care. Guests often tell me the property feels both grounding and inspiring: a place where you can soak in an outdoor bath under the stars, wake to the sound of birdsong, and feel part of something intentional and authentic.
