With all due respect to the photographer who took the pictures for the listing, this place was even better than we expected. The property itself is fantastic, and the hospitality shown from the hosts was exceptional.

Incredible property. Our group loved this place not just for its spaciousness, but for its seclusion as well. We really felt like we were alone together and had a fun time. The owner had a few personalized goodies for our arrival, which I thought was awesome.We stayed here in February, and despite the cold, we were comfortable inside. The hot tub worked great, even in below freezing temperatures! The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cookware. The TV and fireplace worked perfectly. There were a few snow shoes that we were able to use. There was plenty of firewood.The property manager, Ty, was super communicative and responsive to my questions before I even arrived. During our stay we had a minor issue and Ty came over and tried to sort it out in a timely fashion. We appreciated this a lot.Overall, my group and I would definitely stay here again! Lovely property and responsive property owners/managers.

The house was fantastic. Had every accommodation you could imagine and SO much space! Hosts made themselves available and checked in afterwards. Really looking forward to staying again next year

The whole family had a fantastic time!

With ages from 12-80, all of us loved the house. There were so many thoughtful additions that made our stay easy and fun. The outdoor games, the pool, plenty of towels, comfortable beds for everyone, it was easy to settle in and relax. We did spend time in Montpelier, but could have happily spent the whole time just at the house. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed staying at this large house on beautiful private land. We had fun using the indoor pool, jacuzzi and fire pit. We utilized the large kitchen and 12-person dining room table for group meals and snacks. We relaxed in the two living rooms, one with TV and the other looking out on the beautiful land. Our group was able to stretch out across the numerous bedrooms and ample bathrooms and really enjoy our time together.

Unreal experience. We came up for a sales meeting/retreat for 4 days in July. The place was immaculate, had stunning views, and had every amenity/sporting good necessary for a fun and relaxing time. The host went the extra mile to personalize a few items for our stay. Check-in was simple and clean-up was easy. The only issue we had was no one wanted to leave. 11/10 experience. We definitely plan on booking this place or with this host in the future.

Stunning home!

We had the best time staying at the Calais Palace. Every inch of the house was clean and decorated for the holidays, which really made our Friendsgiving weekend special. There were plenty of supplies for us and having two refrigerators and two ovens was especially convenient. Thank you for a great stay and we hope to come back next year!

The house was everything we needed and more. The owners and property manager were very communicative and friendly throughout the whole booking process, making sure we had all we needed. The welcome messages, treats, and gifts were incredibly generous-- they even had floral arrangements all over the house in our wedding colors! A wonderful time was had by all :)Thank you!!!

Calais Palace: Definitely coming back!

Our stay at the Calais Palace was nothing short of amazing. The property is stunning, the amenities like the pool and hot tub are fantastic, and the included thoughtful items were welcomed. The entire place top to bottom was cleaned and well cared for. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor game options like Disc Golf and volleyball. The host had a thoughtful gift waiting for us when we arrived as well. This property is unique in the sense there is just as much to do inside as there is outside between the indoor pool, game room, and large congregation spaces. We were able to setup board games and other indoor activities that required a substantial amount of room. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen items to accommodate 15 people. The checkout process was straightforward and fair. We will absolutely be planning a return trip to this beautiful property and thank the hosts for making it a great weekend from all accounts.

Got it, let's refine that: --- Our recent stay at this property was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the most welcoming atmosphere and attention to detail. The property grounds are impeccably maintained, offering ample space for various activities. We had a blast enjoying the 6-hole disc golf course, playing soccer, whiffle ball, kickball, and volleyball. The indoor pool was an absolute highlight, equipped with a plethora of pool toys, noodles, and life jackets. The convenience of the indoor built-in grill next to the pool made meal preparation a breeze in the fantastic kitchen, which was stocked with everything we needed. Accommodating five families with kids, the spaciousness of the house was impressive, and the beds were comfortable and pristine. The owner's exceptional communication and availability for any inquiries enhanced our experience even further. One of the most touching aspects was the personal touch we felt from the moment we stepped inside—a level of hospitality rarely encountered in rental properties. The fire pit provided the perfect ambiance for cozy evenings, and the recreational room downstairs was an absolute hit. The property, as a whole offered ample space for lounging, games, and even a piano for added entertainment. In summary, our stay surpassed all expectations, and we can't recommend this property enough. It truly offers an unforgettable retreat with nothing but positive memories to cherish.
