Sassafras Treehouse in The Dandenong Ranges, Victoria
It just flows - Built on bridge pylons, Treehouse cantilevers off the side of a Sassafras Gully- it feels like a treehouse in the canopy of Mountain Ash and Blackwoods yet only 4 minutes walk from the quaint and enchanting village of Sassafras. It offers 3 Bedrooms: 1 Queen with floor to ceiling window with views across the gully, the sun rises beyond this window so morning light is glorious, with its own ensuite with bath and sky-window. 1 double bedroom with big window to side deck and gully with adjacent bathroom, and 1 single bedroom/work station. The house is open plan yet cosy, It has a lovely wood fire and there is a lower deck, side deck, and upper deck. It is a peaceful and serene experience. all is designed on three split levels.
This house is jst amazing and the owner thought about everything you could possibly need during your stay. We can definitely recommend it and are looking forward to stay there again one day.
Family of 5 with one elderly parent. Stairs were a challenge for our 83yo but just took our time. What a great stay we had, enjoyed being amongst the trees. Driveway a little tricky in my low car but aside from that, it was PERFECT. Do yourself a favour and explore the Dandenong from this lovely home
The treehouse is a lovely peaceful place to stay. Very comfortable and cosy, room to spread out, surrounded by leafy greenness.
The house is split level. There are stairs from the carport to the front door, and two internal flights of stairs joining the three levels.
You are requested to take your shoes off when you enter so bring house slippers. The polished floorboards are a bit slippery in socks.
I have been offering Treehouse to guests when Im away since 2014. I am an artist working in the public space in sculpture and move between Perth and Melbourne.
Sometimes this place is like a fairy tale, driving up the mountain when its misty, with the Mountain Ash in their ephemeral drapery, arriving at Treehouse and lighting the fire.. it will always enchant me, and I hope you too
It's a home built on bridge pylons and sits amongst the canopy. It requires constant love and I do most of the repairs and renovations myself with the help of partner, brother, and mates. The land is high vibration and thanks to the Bunerong people past and present.
