Hello Sandra and thank you for your review of The Old Mill. Reviews are helpful as they keep us all on our toes. I worry however that yours suggests that our adverts are in some way not transparent. Our advert states that the outdoor pool is OPEN from April to October, but it does then list in 4 separate places that there is an option to have it heated and the associated optional cost. Heating the pool, especially in the current energy climate, is an extraordinary cost to our business and, as many of our guests prefer a cooler pool, we think this is a fairer way of apportioning the cost. Norfolk county council did change the bin collection day for our area, just prior to your arrival and I understand that this made the information I sent you several months ago obsolete, however, you may remember that we informed you of this change (and the new WiFi details) on your arrival to the property. I hope neither caused too much inconvenience. Thank you also for letting us know about the leak after your departure, a pipe had come loose under the bath in the main house and thankfully it was a quick and easy fix for our maintenance team. Regarding check in and out times, these are standard for most large holiday homes. They allow for ventilating, cleaning and now fully sanitising the house between each stay. We are acutely conscious of the need to keep our lovely guests, many of whom are grandparents, elderly and/or vulnerable and our cleaners (who are the mainstay of our business) as safe as possible whilst they are in our care and are loathe to omit any of these recommended steps just yet. The tower portion of the property is 7 story’s high so yes does have a lot of steps( I’m sure the cleaners would love a lift), so that is why we do not recommend very young children are allowed in the tower portion of the house unaccompanied and have placed doors internally to prevent this from happening. You may remember I explained this to you at length prior to you making your booking. Once again thank you for your comments and it was lovely to have had you at the windmill.
