Great stay

What a wonderful place - lots of old world charm with all of the amenities you need. The place was clean and very comfortable. The location was great also. It was an easy walk to restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay here again.

Stay in downtown New Bern

The was in excellent condition and very clean. The house was very well stocked for the stay. Stephanie, the host did an excellent job in keep in touch with us before and during our stay. The location was great as it was within walking distance for many of the stores and restaurants.

Perfect weekend Getaway

This house was amazing! Beautifully decorated, nicely stocked and perfect location. We enjoyed the weekend so much. Within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. Discovered the cutest wine shop near us, Savi’s. We live about an hour from New Bern so we will be back soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Victorian Experience

Loved this property and location to downtown New Bern. Excellent decor for the Victorian era. Every effort to anticipate our needs was taken. I would definitely recommend.

Clean and close to downtown

Very clean well appointed place that is just a few minute's walk to downtown. Beds are comfortable. Thoughtful coffee station with coffee and tea choices, bottled water, oatmeal packets and granola bars. Only issue is windows don't open but that was true of our stays in Savannah and Charleston as well.

Thoughtful and Elegant Place

My family stayed here for a holiday trip to New Bern. We were very impressed by the thoughtfully decorated and carefully restored home. The historic color palette and decorations were a lovely complement to our trip to the annual Candlelight Celebration at Tryon Palace. The home was also very well appointed with everything we could possibly need from snacks to coffee and extra linens. It was also spotlessly clean and in a perfect location. By far the best place we've stayed in New Bern. We hope to come back and would highly recommend it!

Loved Our Stay

Amazing property. Exactly as advertised. Lots of nice touches for guests. Quiet neighborhood. Immaculate. Lots of 1800s charm with all the modern conveniences. Walking distance to all historic sites and restaurants. We parked the car and walked every where. Very highly recommend.

Thoughtful Hosts with Meticulous Attention to Detail

Our family of four spent two nights in the house and it was the perfect place for us. The house is right downtown, so easy walking distance to Tryon Palace, shops and restaurants (we recommend the pizza place across the street!) The interior of the house is quite charming, with every little detail making you feel as if you're reliving the Victorian era. The hosts were very kind, checking in often to ensure we had everything we needed. No detail was spared to ensure we had a lovely stay!

Gorgeous Home!

This property is a completely restored home from the 1800’s. When you walk-in you are transported back in time. The owners have given thoughtful detail to everything throughout the home. Original hardwood floors and many period pieces make for a magical stay. So close to downtown and all the great restaurants. You can walk everywhere! There are 2 units available, upstairs and down. Perfect place for a couple or friends traveling together. The owners are very responsive and gave great recommendations.

TOP NOTCH

This was our first time in New Bern, came to town for business. The house is BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED and MAINTAINED! The owners restored the home to as much as its original Victorian state. The house is a 5 min walk from downtown. I highly recommend MJs Bar and Grille, La Rosa (authentic Italian, is about 10 mins from the house).For the BEST country breakfast go to Bakers Kitchen (their Dutch Potatoes are out of this world). For ice cream I recommend the Cow Cafe. While in town, definitely walk around and explore. While at the house you will feel right at home. Anything you need to know is right at your fingertips, in a book on the living room table. Stephanie and Mike have done a fantastic job at providing a home away from home! Looking forward to coming back.
