Quiet Getaway

Wow, it was a nice, quiet retreat. Everything was so clean and everything you need to be comfortable was there. I was just a little confused on the hot tub thinking it was the outdoor kind and slept in the twin bed leaning forward on my side but all in all, not a big deal. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Colleen for your positive review. The cleaning team does an excellent job ensuring cleanliness of the space. One of the other highlights is the sleeping mattresses on the beds . Comments are often made about the comfort of the beds - Queen, Twin, & Standard. We are also pleased you enjoyed the outdoor decking with the eating area, exercise equipment and TV. Nice Cottage

The best vrbo we have stayed with. Kitchen was very well equipped, even some food supplies. Master bed very comfortable. Great TV watch area. Excellent laundry area. Liked outside covered area with TV for local news. Certainly will stay again when in the area and recommend this vrbo to others seeking a place in the New Bern area.

Quirky but nice

It was quiet, comfortable and small. It's a very old home but it's been updated. It's a quirky little place, and we enjoyed ourselves. Great location close to a lot of things we wanted to see. Our only issue was a couple of wasps got into the house but we got rid of them.

I am very happy Corynne and Robert stay were comfortable and you enjoyed yourselves. The entire house went through extensive renovation making it a sort after space with an open floor plan with updated central air & heat, and Granite counter tops. One of the highlights is the kitchen / dining combo with stainless steel appliances. Most guests enjoy the outdoor decking with eating area, TV, WiFi, Fire pit and exercise equipment. Some guests utilize the covered carport for their vehicle. Corynne and Robert communicated very well and are welcome back any time.

Quiet and Convenient

The host was quick to respond when I had an issue with the WiFi after a storm passed through the area. Since I work remotely, I was extremely grateful for the updates I received. The house is as advertised, older but quaint. It’s off the beaten path a bit so it’s quiet but still convenient to New Bern. Thank you for sharing it with me for the two weeks I was there!

Exactly as advertised!

The property manager was just a phone call away and so very pleasant to speak with. The property is clean and exactly as advertised. Our ONLY issue was lack of internet speed in order to watch television. Recommend for travelers with furbabies! Excellent area for pets to exercise unleashed.

Nice home in quiet area

I greatly enjoyed my stay here while visiting New Bern. My family and I were comfortable and were pleased with the extra toiletries/linen that were provided to make our stay comfortable. Endy always replied quickly and answered phone calls promptly to help with any questions I had about the property. She also provided an extra touch of care by providing masks, first aid kits, and boxes of tissue. Staying there is nice especially if you prefer to get away from the noise of a city when you're ready to unwind for the day.

Overall is good

The place has large lot. Plenty of room to park. The back patio awesome room to hangout. Some of the bad but I Hate to point this out. The home is noticeable unlevel. The home is very lopsided. Was getting dizzy just by standing inside The site said bbq grill but Was unable to find it. Besides that the owner was easy to work with and accommodating, and Provide quick response. Would I stay here again? It’s further out from where I wanted to go but was cheaper to stay than most. If I have at least 5 people with me and have no other place to rent then yes.

Thanksgiving stay

I was not going to publicly write this but after much discussion with my wife we decided it should be made known, There are roaches in the kitchen/dining area and in the bath room. This caused extensive dish and utensil washing prior to each and every use. In addition the oven quit working while cooking Thanksgiving dinner and the dish washer did not work. There was mold in the caulking around the bathtub. The initial cleanliness appeared to be immaculate but after the roaches appeared we revised our opinion, Left 2 days early.

I greatly appreciate your comment when you arrived and checked in. "The house is immaculately clean". Sorry for the issue. The professional service came two days before you arrived and again after. This was a first time problem. The oven /stove is one year old and the computer system went down and has been repaired. Again, I greatly appreciate you feed back.

Endy was kind enough to host our two dogs. This is a great dog friendly property. Everything in the cottage was almost brand new. Nicely decorated. We did have a problem with the lock app, but we got it resolved quickly

Thanks for being a guests at Getaway Country Cottage and thanks for leaving the space generally clean. The cleaning team takes extra care to remove all evidence of pets. It would be appropriate to have information before hand on pets. I was unaware of the two pets.

I worked in Education, Real Estate and spend a lot of time traveling to other countries and different states within the United States. This short term rental was published July 2021. It is absolutely amazing to interact with various people and be able to share and provide an experience. It is a great place to hike, walk, run, explore, and more. Exterior space includes free parking and treadmill and other outdoor entertainment. Guests have the advantage of the entire space (house). It is totally remodeled on the inside with Granite Counter tops, new white cabinets, new appliances, utility room with washer / dryer, separate dining area. Also available is a smart 43' TV, WiFi, Central Air & Heat and a wood burning fireplace. COVID-19 Guidelines are followed and the 5-step enhanced cleaning is used. Extra masks and sanitizing are available for guests. No keys to lose or to return! This property provides secure, keyless entry with an August Smart Lock. You can lock and unlock the door with your smartphone, using a unique virtual key, or personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay.
