Windaboo is a stunning, whimsical, truly lovely beastie with old established gardens brimming with romance & charm. Beautifully setup to create and host intimate retreats, wedding accomodation & holidays for extended families & the like.

The accomodation and grounds of Windaboo are set on a ridge, surrounded by a magical mix of remnant rainforest, green hills, palm groves and is home to native fauna and flora as well as our incredibly spoilt equine kids, goats, baby bulls, goats and the chooks and roosters of Cluckingham Palace.
Windaboo is a working farm situated around 30 mins from Byron, 40 mins to Ballina Airport, 60 minutes to Coolangatta Airport.

The ultimate in luxury farm stay where guests are taken back to their childhood and imaginations run wild. Set amongst stunning established, meandering gardens, remnant rainforest and rolling green hills with an abundance of both native animals and farm animals are three beautiful & unique dwellings; The Cottage, The Bunk House and The Mezz. We also have glamping available utilising local vendors.
The Cottage….
The Cottage with bones and facade of a circa 1900 old-timer has been beautifully restored to accommodate the most discerning of guests but without taking away from the buildings old world charm.
Situated around 100m from The Lodge @ Windaboo, the main residence where your hosts and middle-aged pups reside, The Cottage has views down through the palm grove, across the vegetable garden as we’ll as sneaky views towards where the equine kids of Windaboo reside.
Modern inside with a mix of polished timber floors and polished concrete the open plan kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances (including a dishwasher) & stone benchtops as well as a breakfast area. The kitchen flows to 2 separate verandahs as well as into the dining area which flows on to the living area. One of the verandahs accommodates outdoor dining & resembles a garden room. The other verandah is L-shaped and provides alternate access to both bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king sized bed & the second bedroom has a queen sized bed & rack storage for clothes. Both bedrooms have views across the lawn to the palm grove & are separated by an entrance hall giving privacy to both. Previous guests have raved about the level of comfort of the beds and the luxurious linen provided. There are also blanket/ luggage storage trunks & two bath robes per bedroom are provided for your use and comfort during your stay. Additional overnight accommodation in the form of a double sofa bed is also available in the living room.
Both bedrooms & living rooms are equipped with fans but given the lovely breezes that flow through the cottage, they are not often necessary.
There is also heating available for the colder months.
The bathroom is equipped with a separate shower & the bath is set into a bay window.
The cottage is eclectic & whimsical in its' styling with a mix of antique & bespoke pieces and artwork. It is a home away from home & even your hosts have holidayed there a few times for a change of pace & returned to "the real world" thoroughly rejuvenated.
The Bunk House….
The Bunkhouse is smothered in natural light given it's northerly aspect, multiple sliding glass doors and windows. It has polished concrete floors throughout to compliment a mix of eclectic, unique & some antique artwork.
It is comprised of 2 bedrooms, one with ensuite and an open plan living, dining, kitchen area & a separate bathroom. Luxury linen is provided as are tea, coffee and basic essentials for cooking (oil, vinegar, S + P; the things people forget to bring :)).
Complimentary high-speed internet, Netflix, a DVD player, Bluetooth stereo & an array of board games are available to guests.
The Mezz....
lofty, airy, light beastie with polished concrete floors on the lower level where you can see the exposed beams, recycled timber floors on the upper lever. Soaring double height ceiling with a big-arse fan for summer months.
Full kitchen with full sized fridge.
Upstairs, there are two loft-style bedrooms. Main bedroom with a king bed overlooks the living room &has stunning view over the old dairy bales, our bromeliad garden & beyond. Second bedroom, with a queen bedroom is a tad tight on space but great for sleeping in!!
The bathroom includes a full bath.
Extra ammenities…
Windaboo, being a working farm has a cool room and extra refrigeration available by request for larger groups We will also have a basic commercial kitchen available for hire in the coming weeks.
We also have a large rustic function space that is available for hire for larger groups as well as 3 gas, Zeilger & Brown barbecues also available for hire.
