Perfect Location!

We had a wonderful time! The house was a 10 minute walk to the concert at Beech Mountain and a 10 minute drive to a great hike. The back porch felt like it was deep in the woods but close to all the things we wanted.

Property is exactly as described. Great location, walking distance to music venue. House was neat and well appointed. Great beds, nice well stocked kitchen, paper products, extra towels. Very comfortable for four adults. We would definitely recommend and would be very likely to revisit this house.

Location Location Location

The layout, size, objects available, things to use, or do at the home, and location were fantastic. We really enjoyed the open property concept outside, as well as the size of the yard to enjoy, on the TOP of a hill. Ski resort and hill were .1 miles away. The hot water was the only issue, that went off and on a few times during the stay. Great house and would definitely stay again.

Great ski getaway

Property was perfect for our needs. Close enough to walk to Beech Mountain which is super important for long weekends because parking becomes an issue at the slopes. Kitchen was impressively equipped. Beds were comfortable. Washer/dryer was off limits during our stay but we did not need it for our short stay. We will try stay here again for our next trip to Beech Mountain.

If you like camping and/or bug infestations, this is the place for you. The floors were so filthy we may as well have been walking around in the dirt. My baby's legs were black from crawling inside, as were our socks/feet. There were bugs/cobwebs/dirt everywhere. Baby spiders kept appearing in the downstairs tub - there must have been a nest? On top of that, multiple centipede/millipedes bathrooms, and spiders everywhere - wispy spiders in tub corners and on bedframes, spider on the underside of the fridge door handle, bugs all over windowsills...dirt/hair piled near baseboards, fridge door wouldn't stay closed, reached out to local host and evolve and didn't get any traction other that saying they would look into it, with no follow up. Communication was TERRIBLE. Host resolved nothing via VRBO app...hoping local host we texted with will follow through w/ clean reimbursement offered.Never got checkin instructions - had to call local host while waiting on the porch. Received checkout instructions after we had left, despite requesting them the night before. The house was stocked - every kitchen need was met (even some spices and coffee/hot chocolate) - but given the state of the home, felt like everything needed washing before use (also saw bugs in cabinets). No cold water plumbed to downstairs sink, water literally scalding hot - dangerously hot - so sink was useless. Only a trickle of water pressure in upstairs shower, water went freezing scalding. Great location.

Thank you for the detailed feedback, and we're glad the location was a highlight of your stay. We take the cleanliness concerns seriously and had the housekeeping team come in for a full ceiling to floor deep clean, including steam cleaning the floors and bathrooms, and the spider issue has been treated and is being monitored, as it has been a broader challenge on the mountain this summer. On the water issue, we found the tank had been set incorrectly and our maintenance team now checks it monthly instead of every couple of months to prevent this going forward. Check-in instructions are meant to go out automatically with the booking confirmation, and we're following up on why that didn't happen this time. We're sorry these issues affected your stay, and appreciate you flagging them so we could address them directly.”

Absolutely Wonderful!

We canning say enough good things about this home! From the moment we walked in we were completely captivated by its charm. The kitchen was FULLY stocked with every utensil and appliance you could think of. The fireplace had firewood all ready for us to enjoy it. We saw deer in the side yard every day. The downstairs was being renovated and we can’t wait to see how it turns out. The washer and dryer were older but worked perfectly for us and there was detergent for us to use. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets for the cool nights. My wife and I spend 3 days there and it was completely magical.

Enjoyed the mountains at Beech

The property was clean. We did encounter the following the microwave was not working upon arrival. We contacted the host and she responded by coming by the unit and checking the MW out. She sent a repairman the next day. The MW worked for about an hr and went out again. We did not call the host and made due with the oven. The shower in the upstairs would go hot to cold repeatively while taken a shower. We did enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the location.

Autumn in Oz

Booked this cabin for Autumn in Oz. Didn’t really have expectations for the cabin (we expected to be busy), but can say we were pleasantly surprised. It’s extremely cozy and charming. We loved the old school feel. We had our 1 1/2 year old baby with us- not only was there a pack n play and booster high chair, but the upstairs and downstairs were separated by sliding glass doors. That was a safety feature we hadn’t anticipated, but thoroughly needed to keep her off the stairs! We had 2 teens with us that enjoyed the downstairs seating area. Theres 2 well stocked coffee “stations” on the property that were much needed after long days of running around. Back porch was great for lounging. Truly can’t say enough good things about it. Hoping to be back next year!

This was the worst rental experience I have ever had.We never received the entry code, and we had to get in through the back door, which was left unlocked. The house could not be locked from the inside or when we left, leaving us completely without any security during our stay. The moment we walked in, we found the house extremely dirty. There was dust everywhere and many spider webs throughout the property, showing that there had been no proper cleaning or maintenance at all.The beds were in terrible condition: besides visible dirt and stains, there were pubic hairs from other people on the sheets and covers absolutely disgusting. I had to wash all the bedding as soon as we arrived just to be able to sleep. The bathrooms were covered in grime and buildup, clearly not cleaned for a long time.In the kitchen, the cabinets had dead and dried-up cockroaches, which says everything about the state of the place.I tried contacting the host several times and received no response whatsoever. We came as a family looking for rest and quality time together, but I ended up spending most of the day cleaning the entire house just to make it minimally usable.A disappointing, unhygienic, unsafe experience completely below any acceptable hosting standard. I do not recommend this place at all.

The property itself was beautiful. Immediately walking in it was 80 degrees, in the cabin while it was 98 degrees outside. We couldn’t even utilize the first floor ( main bedroom and bath, kitchen and living area) there’s no AC, just a few ceiling fans and oscillating floor fans that don’t put out much air. The next morning my husband got in the shower and there was no cold water. I washed my face in downstairs bathroom, and no cold water. We had no cold water all weekend, and had to use bottle water to even brush our teeth. We only used one bed, as it was just the two us, and they were yellowed and stained. The General upkeep was severely lacking.

This is in a great location relative to Beech Mountain Ski resort. The house itself is very cute. There were some oddities that are worth mentioning. For example, the downstairs toilet and sink are both only plumbed for hot water which is approaching the temperature of the sun. There is cold water plumbed to the shower so not sure what is happening there but I could see a child very easily being injured by the sink water. Other than that there were some other minor cleanliness issues (dead camel crickets and spiders in tub, dried up dog excrement on the deck). The gas was empty on the grill and we had to travel down the mountain for that as the host would not assist. It is a cheaper rental and worth what we paid. I would consider booking again.
