Cosy family home, walking distance to shops and cafes.
Welcome to our cosy home away from home. Our house with its spacious back garden is perfect for a stress free break. Situated in a quiet street in Orbost we are just a short drive to the Snowy estuary and the beach side town of Marlo. The house is a pleasant stroll or bike ride to the river or town for a coffee/meal or shopping. Visit the Orbost Exhibition centre Thursday to Saturday. Explore the beautiful offerings of East Gippsland, from bush waterfalls to stretches of pristine beaches, rail trail. wineries, lake cruises, all easy driving distance from Orbost.
The property is exactly as you see. The house is well equipped with the delight of an open fire in the lounge. Spacious back yard - perfect for our dog. Short walk up to the main street and the local hotel for meals. Also a short drive (less than 15 mins) to Marlo for the ocean and there is plenty of walking opportunities within the town next to the Snowy River. This was the perfect "decompress" from Melbourne. Thank you to Olive and Alan who were always responsive leading up to the trip and the few questions I had
Enjoyed a relaxed couple of days in this cosy and comfortable home. Nice balance of old warm family charm and modern comforts. Quiet with lovely large garden and decking to enjoy. Olive and Alan were attentive hosts who proveded all the information we needed for alovely stay in beautiful Orbost. Look forward to another stay and recommend for any couple or family.
This property is a gem. Great location in Orbost, comfortable and clean, beautiful backyard. Thank you Olive and Dave. Will definitely stay here again.
Great house, well accommodated for.Loved the complimentary Sour dough and local honey. And to be able to bring our furry boy Charlie (dog ) with us was amazing.
We stayed at this property for one night passing through. Our dog loved the big backyard and the bed was comfortable, the coffee machine and bread was a nice touch! Thank you
A beautifully located residence, homely, everyone that was needed. Secure yard for 2 dogs, great walks on the doorstep and great proximity to main street. Loved our stay , would definitely recommend and will certainly make this another holuday. â€ïž
Comfortable and welcoming home with a big backyard
This is a lovely country home with an incredibly well-equipped kitchen and a fenced backyard that my dog loved exploring. We only stayed for one night but would have wanted for nothing if we'd been there for longer. Olive is a warm and caring host who made sure we had clear directions to the property and a comfortable stay.
Great house, very well equiped. Comfortable main bed. It is quite a cold house BUT the heating works well. The towels left were small however, we did have access to the linen cupboard (thank you) so we did change one towel. This is a positive made from a tiny negative. All in all the property was great.
This is a lovely home to stay in. We received excellent instructions before our stay on check in and other details. Upon arrival there was a lovely sourdough loaf of bread and some local honey and jams greeting us in the kitchen. The book provided for the property had details of where you can buy these delicious local products. The only thing we did not find was information about the internet, however, we were there to relax and not being connected for a few days was wonderful. There may have been details about the wi-fi somewhere, we just didn't find it (perhaps it can be added to the very handy book). The location is within walking distance of Orbost, great cafes and restaurants and 15-20 minutes drive to Marlo, Bushwalks, other scenic routes etc. Perfect stay!!!
Our family had a fantastic time in Orbost over the Easter long weekend, and a big part of that was the lovely home where we stayed.
Three really comfortable bedrooms, a great kitchen stocked with local goodies, and a beautiful back deck and backyard, perfect for watching the sun set. You can feel the love that has gone into the house.
Close to the Orbost shops, also very handy as a base for exploring local attractions. Highlights for us were the beaches at Cape Conran and the Sailors Grave brewery (walking distance from the house).
Highly recommended.
We are a retired couple (ex teachers) who enjoy travelling and meeting people. Our permanent home is in N E Victoria, the Orbost home is our holiday house.
Our daughter, son in law and two grandchildren live in Orbost and as it is a long drive from home for us, we purchased Gordon Street as a base when we visit. We loved the quiet street, the proximity to the Main Street and our daughterâs house. We also like older houses and so this one appealed to us.
We enjoy spending time in Orbost and exploring the beautiful countryside and activities East Gippsland has to offer. There are still many new places to explore, beaches to walk, camp spots to discover. Orbost is a friendly town and we feel very welcome here.
