Had to leave after 4 nights of a 21 night stay
Unfortunately there was an overwhelming musty smell throughout the property which didnât clear after 3 days of having all the windows open. We had to cancel the arrival of our friends and leave after 4 nights because it caused respiratory issues for us both. VRBO wouldnât compensate us for the property issues as their policy is that we should have reported the smell on the first day. There was no flexibility for us having tried to give time for the smell to clear. We incurred the cost of throwing away food and paying to change our Eurotunnel ticket to return to the UK 17 days early. Received the equivalent refund of approximately 3.5 nights from the owner only in compensation.
