Fresh new finishes with natural wood accents and an ocean inspired colour palette, The Bunker is a luxury beach cottage which will have you on island time in no time at all. With the beachfront only minutes walk away, this is the ideal holiday cottage to escape to during Summer and enjoy swimming, surfing, canoeing, snorkelling.

Recently renovated, this property features three beautifully appointed bedrooms, two modern bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious outdoor entertainment area complete with a fire pit. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided at this property. Please note that Wi-Fi is offered as a complimentary service only and, while we do our best to ensure it is available, no compensation will be offered if the service is unavailable or disrupted.

The beach house comfortably sleeps eight guests, with three queen beds and two single beds, and all linen and towels provided for your convenience. We're delighted to welcome your furry friend! Please note, a refundable security deposit is required as part of our pet-friendly policy

Great location, general store and bottle shop right next door. Bowls club and beach a few minutes walk. Easily sleeps 8, kitchen is well equipped and there is a fire pit and barbecue out the back that we didn’t have time to use.

The Bunker was a lovely place to stay located next to convenience store & coffee shop.Room were set out well, there were just a few things - loung was just a bit low for the older members of our family to sit on, there was no coffee machine but heaps of pods & there was no hair or body wash in the dispenser.

Beautiful house We all enjoyed our stay. It was great having the shops in front for when we needed something. Couldn’t hear any noise from the shops you wouldn’t even know they were there. Easy walk to club and the beach or creek for a swimNo covered area out the back to sit which was disappointing as it was very hot on Saturday Bedroom windows are all drilled shut so couldn’t open them for air Walls to the rooms don’t go all the way to celling so you can hear everyone snoring The fans and wall ledges needed cleaning the rest of the house was very clean and tidy.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was great, it is nestled behind the shops which we were a little concerned about. But once we were there it was amazing, it was surprisingly very very quiet and the shopkeepers are easy to make friends with. The house was clean and easy to settle in to. Great app selection on the TV and we also used the BBQ quite easily. The only feedback or thing to make note of is that there is no side gate so if you have younger children that may be a consideration and we also had a few people get curious and walk down the side (not realising it was a property) so if you are looking for a private stay that might be a consideration. Also there was no strainer and we were cooking pasta so that was the only other thing, but very minor detail. Other than those 2 small things we loved it so much and definitely will be back again, we also have already sent the link to 4 other family members and friends.

It’s right next door to the recently renovated shop which is super convenient - and it’s a short walk to the creek/beach. There’s not much backyard and no front yard as it’s attached to the aforementioned shop - so it would be ok for a family with little kids or like us with older kids who didn’t come with us! Whole house has been done up in the past year or so - so everything’s fresh and clean and new. We’re planning on staying in it again with no hesitation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Freshly renovated house so it’s clean and new with everything you’d want in a holiday house. It’s right next to the main shop in HH which has also been freshly renovated and has most everything you’d need.House hasn’t got a front yard and the back yard is paved and smallish, so it is more suited a family with little kids or a couple by themselves. We had an excellent few days away and will be staying here again.

Works for us!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed here a couple of times and will keep coming back. The Bunker is right next to the general store, which is a cracking little shop with pretty much everything you’d need (excellent bottle shop in it!).The only issue is that the walls separating the rooms do not go up to the ceiling, meaning there’s not much privacy and anything in the house can be heard. If you’re just a couple staying there, no issues - if you’re a family it’s a good thing to know!! It works for us though and is a comfortable, clean place that only got renovated a few years ago.

Lovely bedrooms, comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms & living area. Well presented kitchen & laundry with private outdoor area. Unfortunately we mostly had rain so couldn’t enjoy the fire pit or outdoor space. A couple of shops right next door was very convenient. Ample space to park out the front. Would highly recommend this property.

Perfect Location

We think the addition of a BBQ and an awning would enhance the property so the women weren’t stuck in the kitchen but at least the males cleaned up and loaded the dishwasher after our dinners. Prompt answer by text when trying to hook into the wifi and making sure everything was ok. Totally comfortable for 4 adults but could easily accommodate 8. Linen being provided was a bonus.

Do NOT recommend. The property is filthy and not maintained. The house while renovated needs a deep clean. There is dust, spider webs and dead bugs everywhere. There is a musty and mouldy smell throughout. The soaps & lotions in the bathrooms are empty, as are the reed diffusers. Both showerheads are full of someone else’s hair which is absolutely disgusting. We couldn’t shower because we were repulsed. The backyard is a mess with broken pegs strewn around everywhere. The bbq is full of ants and the bbq cover was on the floor soaking wet. The umbrella outside barely stands vertical anymore. The washing line is broken. The coffee maker is nowhere to be seen. The couch is lumpy, uncomfortable and covered in stains. Bathrooms are dirty with hair and soap all over the walls. The list goes on and on and on. We expected the “luxury” description to be just that but we are feeling extremely disappointed and ripped off. Our calls, texts and emails about these issues to the after hours contact number have been unanswered.The lounge was lumpy and I’m pretty certain something was dead inside of it. Safe to say we will never return!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay at The Bunker, Hat Head! The location was perfect, we had an amazing time within walking distance to the beach, club and other guests staying in town. The facilities provided at The Bunker were great but the overall cleanliness let the stay down. There was mould on the doors, dust right through the trims of the house and there seemed to be dog hair, i am assuming from a previous guest, and there was dog hair around the lounge room and underneath the lounge. Having said this, we had a great stay and would go back again but would speak with the Agent regarding the previous issues.
