A perfect place to either chill out, visit historic mining sites or visit the many beaches that are close by. The main street is only a five minute walk where shopping and restaurants are plentiful. Lots of fishing spots and a golf course nearby. There are plenty of bike trails which lead around the Martha Mine and also to Karangahape Gorge, Paeroa and Waihi Beach. The train at Waikino is a novelty ride for sightseeing and also you can take your bikes on the train to travel places if you wish. We are central for travelling to Whangamata, Tauranga, Mt Maunganui, Katikati, Paeroa, Te Aroha, Hamilton and many more.
You must stay here if a quiet and relaxed experience is what you need! Definitely worth the stay in a large and well appointed room in a quiet area of town. Lovely hosts; super tidy and comfortable.
Our hosts were great and the accomodation was perfectly clean and comfortable . We were very happy with everything . Leigh and Steve are great people to deal with .
Our names are Leigh and Steve and we have lived in this lovely miner's cottage with sleep out facilities at the back of the property for 10 months, having moved from Hamilton to Waihi for the lifestyle it offers us as we enter our retirement. Our main objective is for you to enjoy your stay here. We would be happy to help in anyway to make this happen.
We believe we can enhance your stay here by providing top class facilities, a warm and welcoming stay, but also for you to have privacy to come and go as you wish.
Peaceful, relaxing environment. Handy to many beaches and historical mining locations. Waihi township is only a 5 minute walk and Waihi Beach is a 10 minute easy drive. The quaintness and laidback people add to the value of the area . We have a park opposite our cottage with large protected oak trees surrounding it. The Waihi and Waihi Beach RSA is also easy to locate for a lovely meal, or use the facilities of the pubs and takeaway shops available here. We have lots of brochures and maps for you to read about what is happening here and in the surrounding areas, from Coromandel down to Mt Maunganui. Come and see what I mean. You won't be disappointed.
