Captain's Cabin occupies an idyllic waterfront location with uninterrupted views across Pittwater to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Enjoy the serenity of bushland Island walks and the privacy of your own jetty and beach.
Captain's Cabin is an original fisherman's shack that has been tastefully updated with airconditioning for the warmer months and outdoor heating for the cooler months.
At high tide water laps at the edge of the large covered balcony. Sit back and relax while yachts and cruisers pass you by or head out on the water on one of our kayaks for a relaxing paddle.
Inside you will find one cosy bedroom with windows that open directly to the water. There is a comfortable lounge/dining area and a simple but well equipped kitchen. The bathroom is updated but note it is separate (but very close) to the main cottage. There is also a private bbq area at the rear of the property.
Captain's Cabin is ideal for couples. It is not suitable for children.
My partner and I booked this last minute weekend get away, we had the most relaxing weekend. The accommodation was clean, up to date and tidy. We fished from the balcony and Jetty, Kyacked around the island, swam, locals were friendly. Truely the best spot to stay!!
I recently stayed at this property with my 2 friends for a little getaway. The property was great, with a private jetty and little beach. The host was so lovely and helpful. All the neighbours on the island were so nice. We will definitely be back again :)
My partner and I recently stayed here for our anniversary and we will be back! Loved every second of it, the house is clean and a great location right on the water, plus it was small enough to be quaint without falling into the cramped category. Only thing I will advise is definitely pre plan your meals as there is nothing on the island and only salt, pepper and oil in the cabin. Andrew was a wonderful host who was very available with advise and answers to any questions we had. Bring your cozzies and some good walking shoes to explore the island!
Wonderful location right on the water with beautiful sunset viewing. The island is a real holiday escape and so close to Sydney. The house is charming, clean and set up with everything we needed. The owners were very responsive with our communication. Finding overnight parking at Church point is a challenge.
Captain Joan and her husband Jim called Captain's Cabin their weekend home for almost 50 years from the early 1970's, fishing and boating Pittwater and beyond. In recent times the couple's two sons Andrew & Dale continue the adventures with their families.
Protected from the strong North Easterlies in summer with deep water access, the property is ideally situated. The westerly aspect makes the most of the beautiful sunsets that make the end of the day.
