The house was set up really well for guests and could fit a lot of people. It was also very open and light and airy and nice to be in. The fenced front yard was awesome to have for my son. In terms of location - it's not walkable to anything, but it's a very easy drive to the nearby towns.
While working in Weed, we found this great cabin in the mountains. Surrounded by beautiful scenery (trees, Mt. Shasta and the river, not too far away) to relax and recharge. Hard to come back to our normal houses after staying here. Peaceful relaxation serenity. Thank you for being a great host!
Plenty of room for 4 of us. The upstairs bedroom has an en suite bathroom, which I don't think is listed on the posting, but is a really nice-to-have. Follow up communication with the owner/property manager about personal items left behind by mistake was not responded to, unfortunately. Otherwise, a great experience!
Somehow this house manages to be near the highway and train tracks (like most of the Shasta area) without making you feel that way. The yard is small but has lots of amenities and was fun to hang out in. The house was spacious and comfortable.
The owner was also quite gracious and accommodating when it came to some screwups on my part. :)
Hosts very accomadating and helpful. Very quiet. We did not spend much time at vrbo we were visiting family in area. But it was a great place to crash each night.
Quiet getaway but close enough to Mt Shasta city and mountain.
Large house with several sleeping options. Beds were comfortable. Downstairs queen more like full size. 2 full bathrooms. Not pristine but clean enough. Problem was refrigerator: old sour milk and other foods were leftover. Coffee maker had to be cleaned 3 times. Bring your own face cloths. Communication w owner was by Text and was told to talk to the âmanager â who lives next door who owned the storage unit business. He was not very forthcoming when I talked to him but was helpful and delivered extra towels the next day while we were at a retreat. Fridge door was not closing properly but we notified Annette and she texted back that it will be address immediately. We lost a few veggies as they froze in the fridge area. We even turned down the temp and later noticed the gap in the closed door around the molding. But we were ready to leave. Overall the location was very convenient to getting into town and up the mountain. The house is situated very close to the railroad and you can hear the whistles and rumbles of the train. Most places in town you can also hear the trains however. Some folks may not like this but we got up early for our retreat every morning anyway. Wasnât a problem form my group.
Place was great for our needs.
The cleaning fee was pretty steep, and a required damage deposit or big credit card hold was a bummer. I get that many folks party hard, but that wasn't us.
Missing screen door on back slider meant we couldn't leave that door open. The AC worked well and there were fans available which was nice.
Lots of leftover spices and fridge stuff.
Great location! Close to Mr Shasta and no neighbors.
The stay was great and house was set up perfectly for two small families! One bedroom downstairs is advertised as a queen, but it is only a double/full. The upstairs king bed and downstairs full bed could stand to be replaced soon, but all the other furniture is lovely and comfy. Owners were great at communicating! Great place...would definitely return!! đ
I brought my kids to see Shasta for their first time and an old friend of mine joined us here. The Google directions took us to an empty place at the end of the road so we had to drive up and down the street a few times looking for the house. Once we located it we had some trouble getting in due to a broken lockbox. But the owner replied to my texts pretty quickly and we were able to get connected with the property manager who gave us a key.
The house itself was as described. It's large and open, plenty of room for a large party, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We were able to find what we needed to prepare meals and have a nice time reconnecting with old friends. It's off the beaten path so while it's a drive to get anywhere it's also peaceful and relaxing to be there.
I want to give this a great rating and it was nice but sadly, it doesnât get the full 5 stars. Listing said there was a grill and fire pit so one of my dinners was to grill hamburgers and hot dogs and we also bought stuff for sâmores. Neither were available. I reached out to the host and they indicated it was likely in the garage as they hadnât had time to set them out since it was a longer winter. They were traveling and said to reach out to their manager. Over the span of two days (the day we arrived and the following), we called and left 3 VMs and sent a text; we never received a response. I had to scramble and figure out dinner since I really didnât want to make burgers inside. A simple call back would have gone a long way.
The home/cabin overall was nice inside. As others have said the double bed downstairs is not comfortable at all.
I wish we could have enjoyed the outside more since it was such a nice weekend.
We loved the layout of the house with the open floor plan for the kitchen dining room and living rooms. Very comfortable and the amenities were well thought out. It was in a great location, just minutes from either Mount Shasta or Weed and close to areas to enjoy the snow. All in all it was a great place for the family to hang out together.
Beautiful cabin, well equipped and comfortable, the stay was pleasant and quiet, with a beautiful view of Black Butte. As we arrived at night it was difficult for us to arrive and the Vrbo application was not responding. We had to knock on the door to some neighbors who told us where it was. The host was not available when called. Fortunately we got to the end without any problem. I suggest that the instructions to arrive and check out be sent by email. We did the best we could with the garbage, the sheets and the towels, I never received how to leave them. A beautiful house for 6 people to be comfortable
We enjoyed our stay very much. Bring your own spices. The twin beds were extremely lumpy and hard, but other than that, we were very comfortable and felt safe in the neighborhood.
Our company is working in the Mt.Shasta and Weed area. This house is located exactly in-between the two towns. It is a really nice house and has a lot of beds for everyone. Our employees loved it and they are looking forward to coming back.
We enjoyed our stay here. Very close to Shasta City. We couldn't figure out the bedroom tv. Plenty of towels. We loved that we had the option to do laundry if needed. We would stay there again.
Fairly basic, no frills property. Great location, lovely setting, amenities were very sparse. Kitchen is rustic and very basic. Bring your own washcloths, soap and necessities as they are not supplied. Train traffic set off my car alarm so be prepared for noise in the otherwise quiet setting. The twin room has a very hard bed. The upstairs is main room with bath was fine, but no bedding for futon. I would classify this home as 'adequate' but certainly not luxe. We cooked one night, ate out the rest of the time. Great wood stove with a supply of wood and fire pit but we didn't use any of the features that might be welcome in colder weather. Communication was good, hiking area great, lovely mountain views. Rustic, simple and basic.
Alan and I both grew up in the Bay Area, married in 1985 and moved to the Grass Valley area. Raised our 3 children and ran a thriving Autoglass business for 20 years. We now have 3 grand sons, who luckily live nearby. We enjoy skiing, scuba diving and traveling. Family is important to us, and a place to make memories in seems like a lovely thing to do. We just fell in love with the area.
We purchased this as an investment property which sits adjacent to self storage property that we invested in. Also, because we fell in love with the area. So many places to explore and enjoy. The views are amazing!
Conveniently located 5 miles from Mt. Shasta City and only 2 miles from Weed. Easy access off of Hwy 5. It is the last property located at the end of Truck Village Drive. Also has a studio apartment over the garage to rent as well sleeps 2/4.
