The cottage was very well equipped, clean and spacious. The well water was fine for washing but bottled water is best for drinking, tea and coffee. The park passes were an unexpected surprise and we made good use of them. We highly recommend this cottage for family vacations.

Family memories

Great time away with family. Our six grandkids had a wonderful time. The property was well equipped, and the host thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.

Great family getaway

Overall, our stay was excellent. We had five children under age 10 and four adults. Three generations. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning works well. The kitchen is very well equipped and we loved the dining table which easily accommodated all of us. The bonus surprise was the incredible cache of baby friendly furnishings - a great high chair, etc. Two very comfortable living rooms with televisions equipped with Netflix. A fireplace in the finished basement level, which we didn't use but would no doubt be appreciated in the other three seasons. The upstairs includes a full bath (with tub/shower) and one sink with lots of counter space, as well as a bedroom with a generous closet, large dresser, two night tables and a queen size bed. The remaining bedrooms (three) are in the well-finished basement including a room with a King, two night tables and a small walk-in closet; a room with a double bed, double lower bunk and single upper bunk; and a third bedroom with a double bed and two single bunks. Very comfortable furniture throughout. Great firepit. Fabulous play area for the kids. Two day passes to the Pinery park which has excellent beaches (thank you so much!). All of these earn the property an Excellent rating. The negative: the water, which had an unpleasant smell. We used it for showers, but bought water for everything else, including making tea/coffee. An easy fix. The property is located directly on Hwy 21. Overall, a great place. Thank you!

Girls weekend

We had a fabulous weekend away! As moms of children with special needs, a weekend away is so nice! This house had everything we needed. It was clean and relaxing! They had everything! We couldn’t think of anything that was lacking! It was totally worth the cost! We will come back again!!

Awesome!

This was perfect for a group of teachers who needed to get away for a board game weekend. Homeowner answered all questions in a timely manner. House was spotless, beds were comfy and the kitchen had all the tools needed for meal prep. We will book here again for sure!

Great Location next to Pinery!

We had a great stay here. It was a great house with an outdoor fire pit and lots of room for our group. As others have mentioned, the barbecue did need extensive cleaning before we used it. The barbecue brushes didn't have any bristles left to clean with! The house does run on well water, Taking showers we did notice the chlorine smell. We purchased drinking water from the grocery store nearby. Its a great place to stay and we would come back.

Great for families.

Cleanest place I have stayed in to date! (And I am somewhat particular). Good location- nice amenities. Only thing to know in advance, is that the water is well water, which looked clean but had particles in it - so we purchased bottled water locally. Would absolutely come back. Place was well equipped for large families. .

Family time away

Enjoyed our stay, very clean and spacious cottage. The day pass to the Pinery Provincial park was awesome and its very close. Would definitely recommend to family/friends. The only suggestion would be that the BBQ requires a good cleaning. We had a wonderful stay!!!!

Wonderful time

Impeccable property. Wonderful yard for children. Great Neighbors. Let the kids feed his chickens and kept us supplied with fresh eggs for breakfast. Host has everything you could think of to make a family stay perfect. Enjoyed Ipperwash Beach, McPhersons Restaurant and Ice Cream on Main Street in Grand Bend. Even in rainy weather we had fun playing games in the area in front of sliding glass doors. Cotton puff races and balancing balls on paper plates. We were able to enjoy Movie Night with Nexflix and a comfy blanket. Lots of lovely memories made. Thanks for a great vacation.

Home away from home

We had an excellent stay at the Pinery Retreat. The cottage was clean, roomy, and had everything we could need. Having 2 Pinery passes was a perk and we enjoyed the Pinery beach. Not too far of a drive from the Grand Bend main strip. Great deck and firepit out back with whimsical solar lights as well as swings for the kids. We definitely would come back!

Great getaway!

We stayed here for a long weekend to attend a wedding which was in the area. The property is exactly as advertised and very spacious and clean! The 5 kids (aged 8-12) especially enjoyed the extra indoor space, the outdoor amenities on site and the many beds. We had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Wonderful house and we all want to come back

We are so grateful to have found this beautiful house. This was our first family getaway and it comfortably fit 10 of us. The kitchen is huge and open for all of us to cook and eat together. The park pass and the playground in the back was extra special for everyone. Everyone wants to come back !

Great Getaway!

My girlfriends and I spent the weekend here and it couldn’t have been better! Everything we needed was there, the home was clean and aesthetically very cute. Tony was really friendly and helpful, and the backyard/fire area was awesome. Tony even provided a pinery pass for us so we could visit and go for a hike! Absolutely wonderful, we would go back in a heartbeat.

Awesome experience

This place is amazing- absolutely what I expected based on the photos. The house is clean and fully updated. If you are considering this spot- book it only few minutes to the beach . The host is really awesome with quick reply to our questions and had a entry pass to the Pinery park too. Travelling with my little one I loved how the kitchen was fully equipped and even had a high chair. Would totally come back to stay.
