Restful Retreat!

Cozy cottage

The house and property was great! House was super clean and had everything there that we needed.There was a note along with fresh bread and chocolate chip cookies. We loved the fireplace and the swing on the front pourch.

Exactly what we needed

Two moms and their respective kids on a electronic detox weekend. Perfect amount of space to spread out, TONS of outside space for the kids to play and relaxing for the adults. The fresh baked treats upon arrival, the large coffee pod selection, super soft beds, extra info about things to do in the area.... it was all so wonderful! We all agreed we'll come back annually at least and hopefully more often. Also - there's a really neat cemetery dating back to the Civil War up the hill across from the house. And the One Horse Book Store in White Cloud is an absolute treat.

Elderly stay

Booked for the elderly mother in law and her sisters. They loved it. Sorry, not much was retained when she told me about the place. Most son in laws understand how this happens. Thank gosh for beer and whiskey when they get a yappin!

Perfect Get-Away to find solitude!

My husband and I needed a few days of quiet and solitude and Janet and her cottage were perfect in every way! The covered porch made for a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the rain and the birds singing. The bed was so comfortable, the kitchen provided what I needed to cook (one of my ways to unwind), the fireplace was a great addition...Janet thought of everything. The property and the cottage exude peace...just what we needed!

Relaxation

If you want to get it away from it all, this is your place. Relaxing, secluded, and cozy. Nice kitchen, living space and bedrooms. Close to Atchinson which has some really nice places to visit. Weston is loaded with history and 45 minutes away as well. Scenic Drive from Iowa Point to Atchinson HWY 7, is amazing.

Very beautiful house

Pictures don’t do this house justice. It was extremely clean and had a lot of cool upgrades. There were also snacks and games provided for the kids to enjoy. It is a very quite and neat area. You will not be disappointed staying here!

Great Stay!

Stayed here while visiting St Joseph. Scenic drive from St Joe's. Loved all of the extra touches. A treat upon arrival, sound machines in the bedrooms, toys for the children, coffee, condiments, spices, etc... Highly recommend and will book again when in the area! Wonderful Cottage

My friend and traveled to this area from Minnesota to watch the spring migration at nearby Loess Bluffs. The property was easy to find, incredibly clean and the listing was accurate. I have stayed in many vrbo’s but this one excelled!! When we arrived the table was set, FP was on and there were muffins ready for the following morning- just like a B&B. We loved the personal touches and the beautiful remodel that has been done to this home! Thank you!!

Wanted to Move In!

My friend and I like to meet somewhere between the states where we live and do jigsaw puzzling weekends, and this place was perfect! So many thoughtful touches we didn't expect and really appreciated. (muffins were provided for breakfast, tons of info about the house and locality, and the owner asked if we'd like additional leaves for the table for our puzzle, which we did and it was just right!) We arrived on a rainy day where travel was a bit stressful, but the house is so warm, inviting and easy to access that we were able to settle in and relax within minutes. On that first rainy day, the fireplace was awesome, and was a special treat the next night when we wanted to relax and watch tv after finishing our puzzle! The kitchen is incredibly well stocked, better than most homes we've rented. The house is beautifully done. Thank you, Janet, for providing such a welcoming, warm respite when we both really needed one! Would love to stay again, if you'll have us! Ann & Betty

Lovely cottage for a relaxing get-away

This is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of rural Kansas. It is far enough away from the big city to be a good place to relax and get-away, but close enough to restaurants and grocery shopping to not feel isolated. The place was immaculately clean. The decor was pleasing and tasteful. The beds and chairs were comfortable. The gas log fireplace was a cozy touch for the living room, as were the overhead fans in the bedrooms. The owner has clearly given thought to providing ways to maximize comfort and enjoyment for guests. The kitchen is small, but well thought-out for those inclined to cook. We were pleased to have a microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and dishwasher and a good-sized refrigerator. The dining room and table seating are ample for the size of the number of guests. The large covered front and back porches were perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. We look forward to staying here again.

Charming Country Cottage

This two bedroom cottage was recently remodeled. It was immaculately clean and the decor was tasteful. The kitchen is small, but well stocked for anyone who wants to cook. The outside decks were a nice addition, as was the front porch swing. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom has a ceiling fan. The gas log fireplace made the living room feel especially cozy. We will stay here again.
