Great mountain getaway

My fiance abd I met some of our friends from florida and stayed at Misty Vale. We had a great time using all of the propeties amenities. The hot tub was definitely a plus! We will be back!

Fantastic

The place was great. It was clean well taken care of. Nice patio set and the game room was awesome. It was more then enough space for the for for my family. The kitchen was stocked with seasoning and condiments for you to use thanks to the host. Speaking of the host, she is wonderful. She made us feel appreciated with the gift she left us for booking her place. That there tells me she is a great human being and treats other how she would want to be treated. Fantastic place fantastic owner would recommend this place anybody. Thanks a lot Misty Vale!

Great experience!

Our church’s women’s leadership team attended our second year retreat at Misty Vale this January! We love the charm and find it very welcoming and inviting for our time with the Lord and with each other. It has everything that we need. We plan to return again next year and the year after. I also shared this information with another church’s women’s director, and they are planning on booking their spring retreat of about 18 people at the property if possible. Our retreat has found a home and we are so thankful for the responsiveness, kindness, and thoughtfulness that our house Sarah has shown. We will be back and we will tell others as well. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful experience at Misty Vale!

Cozy and warm

Well kept comfortable home. Game room was a lot of fun. We were able to enjoy much needed downtime and family. Age range from 9 to 83.

Great rental house close to town. We enjoyed the firepit and the hot tub. Beds were comfy.

Amazing property and owners

I cant thank the owners enough for everything they did for me and my family. We originally rented misty vale to celebrate with family but ended up having a tragic event and they were beyond amazing to us and worked with us to extend our stay. They were very kind through our entire stay. We will definitely be returning for our future stays in rabun.

Home Away from Home

This property is the best in the area for a quite relaxing stay in the mountains, but also short drives to hikes, Mt towns, and much more. This is the second time we have booked here for the home away from home feeling you get here. The house is well stocked kitchen, blankets, towels and everything you need for your stay. The store is literally right down the road and there are plenty of great places to eat if you don't like to cook, but this kitchen is gorgeous. Will book again in the future.

Women’s leadership retreat

We had a wonderful weekend in a welcoming, comfortable home. Due to the weather we never really left the house for the entire stay. If was a lot of fun. We would recommend this house to others.

Great place with plenty to do on & off property

We spent Christmas '23 at this property and couldn't have been happier. Plenty of room and plenty to do on site, which we found found out when it rained for almost 48 hours straight. Sarah was very accommodating and checked in on us even on Christmas day & was kind enough to have a Christmas tree for us. Definitely above and beyond of what we expected. She is absolutely awesome. Plenty to do nearby as well, shopping downtown and local state parks with plenty of hiking trails as well as one on site of the property. Available activities in the basement definitely helped with riding out the rain storm. Great place, even better host and would absolutely stay at the Misty Vale again without hesitation. Thank you again Sarah, you are great.

Great trip to Clayton

We loved the house in Rabun County! It was perfect for our family of 7 for a quick weekend getaway! We all slept great and that is half the battle for me when we go away.

Family weekend

Oh my stars - Misty Vale is an amazingly peaceful gem!! What a fabulous host leaving us a sweet note and little treats😊 We enjoyed hiking on the property and in the area, visiting locally owned restaurants in Clayton, and the games filled basement. We had so much fun, and look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you so much!!

Had everything we needed and things we did not know we needed

I had a wonderful birthday with my daughter and a few friends and could not have booked a more amazing place! There is plenty of room to spread out and we enjoyed the indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis as well as the game room! We cooked steaks on the grill and baked apple dump cake in the oven! There is plenty of things to explore just up the road and of course May the house was an added bonus! Thank you so much!

Cozy and homey

Misty Vale is a very homey and welcoming place to go when you need a break from the craziness of life, while still convenient to restaurants, stores, and local shops. We arrived to a sweet welcome note and a home that is thoughtfully supplied with all of your needs. We will definitely visit again.

Great house

We had an awesome stay. The house was great, the amenities were awesome, and the horse next door was the highlight of my children's trip. Owners were kind with our dogs and children. Definitely a great place!

This property is unique and fun. The eclectic decor and the quaint details make it wonderful for a group of middle age women. The porches and views were spectacular (except you need a swing or rockers). The close proximity to town just makes it better.

Relaxing AND FUN!

This was a great size for my family of 5! The hot tub and back patio area in general were relaxing, the game room kept us (especially my boys!) busy, the kitchen had all of the necessities (even though I brought my own just in case it didn’t). The yard was perfect for running around and playing. My favorite part was the bed in the master. It is the most comfortable bed I think I have ever been on! I can not wait until we go up again. My kids said “Book this place next time too!”

Perfect Mountain Retreat

We had a wonderful time at Misty Vale. Many thanks to Sarah for the welcoming bottle of wine, a lovely start to our vacation! The house offered a lot of indoor and outdoor space and privacy for 4 people, with a full downstairs game room. There is a trail right outside the door, and we all loved visiting May and giving her carrots! The location was scenic and relaxing but also a short drive to town which was convenient. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, we are definitely planning to come back again!

Home Away From Home

Wonderful, clean and felt like home. The host provided somethings that helped throughout our stay, a personal card and even carrots to feed May, the neighborhood horse. It felt like home away from home. The home is close to downtown Clayton, grocery stores, trails and much more. There are plenty of local hiking trails, wineries, distillery, etc. I would recommend this place as a couple or family getaway. We loved every minute of our stay and plan to book again in the future.

Slice of Countryside Heaven

First off, the house and property are beautiful!!! We loved every minute we were there. The fact that you are away from the city enough to be in the country yet still was only a five minute ride to the city was PERFECT!!! There were a few things we forgot to pack so being close to a local grocery store and Walmart was a plus. May was also the star of our stay as well and was such a sweet girl. The house itself was just the right size for the group we had with us and beds were so comfortable which was a plus, too. Not to forget to mention the price per night is unbelievably affordable aside from other places we have stayed. We will certainly be back when in that area and will be recommending either house to anyone who will be in that area looking for a place to stay.

Retreat

Wonderful get away! Home was very comfortable, well stocked and clean with a great location for getting to multiple hiking sites. We enjoyed feeding the horses on the property. After long days of hiking it was nice to come back and relax with the firepit and the amazing game room.

Misty Vale did not disappoint!

This property is beautiful and peaceful. The use of the home is maximized to it's potential. The house was very clean and sanitized. Beds were comfortable. Home was well appointed. The downstairs gameroom was great. We would definitely stay here again. The home is located in Clayton far enough off the main thoroughfare to be peaceful but also close enough to be accessible. Everything about this location was great. They even had toys and a highchair for babies. The owner has thought of many nice touches to add to make your stay special. Highly recommend!
