We brought out my parents from NZ for our sons wedding, staying was convenient but also relaxing, heaps of room inside and out, clean and tidy and space to explore, thank you team for adding to the occasion
beautiful old world charm. Perfect place for our family to come together and catch up. The ppty is 100yrs old but all the modern amenities were in perfect working order. The weather, unfortunately was the only thing that let us down on this trip... we will definately return
A group of 8 adult family and friends. Down for the weekend to attend an Italian cooking class. Great location and comfy large cottage on extensive grounds.
My family and I had a lovely time at Burradoo. The house was spacious and set on a beautiful property and the tennis court was a great bonus. Would definitely recommend the house!
Such a great character filled house and garden. Great for the train enthusiasts. The house was well set up. Some of us found the trains a bit loud but others loved it and didnât hear them. Thanks again such a great place. Oh and tennis was fun!
We were there for sons wedding and when arrived at property we could not get in touch with management for 45mins to get code for key safe . As for the property we loved everything about the place . Could do with a handyman and bit of tlc , not all the lights were working in house . Facer and guttering need bit of attention .

Character and charm
My family and I loved our stay at York cottage. The sprawling old home had ample bedding for 3 generations of our family. (6 adults and 3 kids). The extensive grounds were beautiful and great for the kids. The tennis court was a real bonus, Inside the home, the dining room with it's glorious outlook and the lounge room with it's old world charm and roaring fire were highlights.
On the downside. the bathrooms are in need of updating and not elderly friendly. Of most concern, the fence between the property and the railway track is in urgent need of replacement. We had to keep our eyes glued to our 6 year old autistic granddaughter whenever she strayed near that side of the property.
It is dangerous. Please, please fix it.
The summary that I would have for this property would only be directed towards the fact that our booking was cancelled on our party of 9 - 24 hours prior to our arrival without any prior notice, meaning that we were never even given the chance to arrive or even given the option of an alternative properly.
This in turn completely crashed the 92nd birthday weekend for my grandmother who was looking forward to spending it with her family & made the interstate travel by some of our family members pointless.
At this time of year - of course- last minute cancellations like these by the host mean that it is near impossible to find a replacement.
Thanks Stays - We wonât be forgetting this one !
This historic house was private charming in many ways, and the kitchen, bathrooms and bedlinen/towels were clean. The cutlery, crockery, servingware and glassware were all lovely.
However, we also found that there were dead flies all along the window ledges, the outdoor table was too dirty to use, all the windows and doors were covered in old cobwebs, and the tablecloth was grimy. We were also disappointed by the very old pots, pans and baking trays.
Finally, we believe that the house description should be upfront that the property is right next to the railway line and that there are frequent passenger and freight trains. Aside from the noise throughout the day and night, we were very glad there were no children or pets on this trip, as there is no secure fencing between the property and the tracks.
With a little upkeep and some care and attention, the house could be a lovely retreat within an easy distance of town and wineries.
We have stayed in and around Bowral many times over several years, and this property cost more than we usually pay, but not the quality we expected.

York Cottage is a great place to stay and relax. The house is like a step back in time and so interesting. There is a lot of reading matter around, historical information and a miniature train track around the property. It is a great place to walk around and get lost in the surroundings. There is the rail track to the side of the property which trains run intermittently but when you walk around the property and the house it adds to the atmosphere.
We had a minor problem with the hot water in one part of the house but there were 2 hot water systems so it did not end up being a big deal, and the property manager responded strait away to help with the issue.
4 very comfortable bedrooms for couples, and a fifth with 4 single beds. Large gardens to explore and a tennis court. Very close to train lines. Great for rail enthusiasts.
