If you're looking for a old cabin feel with an updated kitchen and bathrooms this is your place. It does have an old cabin feel, but it is well appointed with blankets, space heaters and wood burning fireplace. The location is great and on a quiet street with private yard. The hot tub could use some TLC though.
Very clean and beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed the hot tub, boats and swimming. Hosts provided everything we needed. Easy access off the main road. Relaxing place with many birds and we even had a heron fly onto the property
Beautiful place, tastefully renovated, on a quiet private street with other chalets. Nice little foosball table that converts to a mini-ping pong table, mini-pool table or airless air hockey table. They also have a variety of games such as chess, backgammon, etc and a very wide variety of (mostly French) books. There are snowshoe trails on the other side of the lake (accessible from the end of the road) with both easy and more difficult options. Note that the "ski hill privilege" mention in the ad only refers to the presence of ski hills nearby, and that no pass is provided. The 2nd floor has sloped ceilings, so it can feel a little cozy, but it didn't bother us (and the kids thought it was cool). The host responded quickly to the questions I had before the stay, and let us know that the place was ready a few hours early. Overall a great experience.
GOOD FEATURES:
Spotless; modern bathrooms; modern appliances; Smart TV. Pleasant patio deck. Lovely view of the lake and pretty grounds with many flowers. Nice BBQ, but two gas elements didn't work.
BAD FEATURES:
The grass had not been cut.
The area to enter the lake was a muddy mess. Kayaks should have been moved aside, and this area cleaned up and dried so we would not sink into the muck. My husband tried to enter the lake from the stone wall, but he sank deep into the muck, like quicksand.
So not a good VRBO for swimming.
The host's photos did not show the stairs up to the bedrooms and how low the ceiling is. The stairs are steep and the ceiling above them is so low that my 5'11" husband had to bend almost in half so as not to hit his head near the top. had told the host I have an old ankle fracture. I am an athlete and walk just fine, but stairs can be challenging. Had I seen photos of the staircase, I would not have rented here. So not a good VRBO for anyone with any mobility issues.
The ceilings upstairs are too low. I am only 5'1" and had to bend down so as not to bump my head. My husband had to bend down in the door frames. The comforters were too hot for summer. There were no lighter blankets. The sofa was small and uncomfortable even for two people. There were no other chairs. My husband had to bring in a deck chair for watching TV. The inner patio was too hot to sit in. A screened window would have been nice.
A disappointing summer rental.
Thank you for sharing your lovely space with us. Your home is charming and clean. The beautiful lake and peaceful surroundings are exactly what we needed to recharge!
The property was perfect for our end of summer getaway. The house was well designed, well maintained, and well stocked. The heated hot tub was an added bonus that we have not had at other houses and the perfect way to start and end the day. The enclosed porch, the outside deck, the fire pit, and lake side views gave everyone enough space throughout the week. The weather changed and even used the indoor fireplace which was the perfect way to end our time there. Marie-Eve was so responsive throughout the reservation process, leading up to our check-in, and during our stay when we needed her. She provided many local recommendations around the area and made everything so easy for us. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place for a small family. Merci beaucoup!
