Beautiful forest views from tall windows and a vaulted master. Perfect for our group of 6 adults; plenty of cozy couches/chairs and a LONG table for our meals and games!! All 3 couples had en-suite baths! Stunning property; an excellent time together!!Negatives: All headboards propped behind mattress hanging toward bed and floppy, used extra pillows to support them from moving, hitting the walls. Couldnât turn the TV on in the master so didnât bother. Master windows are broken so propped one open with window parts for cooling at night. Many up-down shades are broken or tied off to dresser knobs. Kitchen has plenty of service and dinnerware. Juicer, knives, wine openers available. Missed opportunities/attention to detail found in other rentals: no oil, pepper, wrap, foil or zip bags; coffee filters werenât located until after the trip to the store. Commercial gas grill wouldnât heat over 280 degrees after well over an hour, used grill to finish pizzas and the remainder of the trip. Grill had a grease fire while it heated up for the pizzas on night one so we stayed close with water and didnât use HIGH.Hot tub is a nice touch but half of the jets donât work. Lock was open and rusted up; top was in much disrepair. Two large picnic tables fill the patio, no chairs for firepit so bring yours. Foosball slopes to one corner, Wii available but missing components. Well loved property that needs some attention especially at this price point! Team was quick to respond.
The location is tucked at the end of a gravel road and was quiet, we appreciated the feeling of solitude yet we were still walking distance to town and we took several walks in. The house had a lot of puzzles and we took advantage of that, the hot tub was also a hit and we used it daily. The beds were comfy and the linens clean. The carpets need a solid cleaning, there's a lot of dust and dead bugs in most the light fixtures, and the oven does not work properly which impacted us significantly. We had a birthday cake to cook and two of our dinners needed the oven, the cake managed to be tasty despite...maybe the low and slow cooking method worked for it. Something that was the most frustrating was the missing blinds in the bedrooms, please fix and put the blinds back up, this impacted sleep for two of the guests.Three of the four bedrooms had broken or missing blinds. Overall, the stay was good and the house is a great setup, just lacks that sense of love you see in a home - very much a vacation rental.
We had an amazing stay at this home! We had family in town from Texas who wanted to experience some snow! So we loaded up the cars and took the family to the mountain! The home is very nice and everything worked as advertised! Highly recommend if considering This home and management company! Also management company was highly communicative and responded to several correspondence emails with questions and details!
Stayed here for my 45th birthday with friends. Such a beautiful home, with excellent snowy view. My pet absolutely loved how cozy it was in the master bedroom by the fireplace. The perfect walking distance to the trails, and the little town.
I would love to return to this home in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a vacation home in the mountains.
It was the first time my nephew from Detroit came to visit and I asked , do you want to go to the beach or mountains and when he said Mountain VRBO âŠ.you had plenty of options but when I saw Chalet am Berg I only hope that it would be as nice as it lookedâŠâŠAnd to our surprise it wasâŠâŠ.outstanding
We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful home. Lots of room, awesome location, clean, inviting, and quiet. We walked to town, visited Ski Bowl and Timberline. Prepared a birthday dinner and did some hiking. A great experience.
Rented the place out for my husband's birthday, invited some of his friends too. The place is great but 1) I noticed the price significantly dropped for near dates about a week after we booked 2) the property manager didn't seem to know the property. Asked if there was a couch or sofa bed in the master, was told no. There is a couch, it is a broken sofa bed (sofa part works fine, just not bed part). Asked if there was a blender for a friend who has a special diet, was told no. There is a blender. Washer was also broken for our stay, wish that had been communicated. Traveling with kids, I really like to have access to a washer/dryer. Overall the place was great though.
We stayed with our kids and dog for ski camp at Hood. Big garage for ski and bike storage, ski tuning. Comfortable beds. Back patio area was in need of a little attention so we didnât use it much. Kitchen well equipped. The washer broke on our second day and the management company wasnât super helpful about an alternative. We ended up having to use the laundromat in town, which was annoying. The management company uses an answering service so when something went awry it was tricky to get a local person on the phone. A local contact was available by email, however, and was helpful with blankets and replacement coffee maker carafe. Overall, comfortable stay!
Had a nice time at the house! Lovely place, very clean, and beautiful views into nature. Lots of space and room for all of our group to stretch out and relax.
Only problem was the driveway wasn't plowed. We had to spend about 30-45 minutes digging out way into the property. Every other driveway was plowed except this on, and while the property management was very responsive and tried to help it was still disappointing.
Would love to come back again for another ski trip!

This was a wonderful place for two families to get away and ski. Plenty of room for the kids to spread out when we got home from a day of skiing. The driveway was icy and difficult to reach without AWD or salt. But otherwise, lovely place!

Overall, a wonderful stay. The property management was very helpful and helped us find a great spot and a great kitchen. We had nice sunny days and snow. The snow removal from the front door was poor. I would tell other travelers since the location is on the mountain, take your ice shoe tracks for your walking safety once you are off the main road. There are many stairs in this alpine house so would not be good for anyone with mobility issues. Bed blankets were only available for 2 out of the 5 beds. Only thin quilts were on each bed. The rental instructions say bring your quilts, and they mean it. If you are cooks like we are, you must bring all of your own spices, oils, tinfoil, parchment paper, etc. The nearest larger grocery store is in Welches. I was glad we brought all our paper and laundry supplies too. Because we packed it all, we had a wonderful stay.

The Chalet am Berg was our first choice for a big birthday celebration and it was beautiful. The house is impressive with big windows and lots of room for guests to relax, play games, movies, dine as a group and relax. Our group went up just after a big snow dump so it was a winter wonderland.
