comfortable and well supplied in every way

We needed to be in Tualatin for 10 days and it was the perfect place: beautiful setting, spacious and comfortable, all the gadgets and supplies we needed for kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. We will plan to reserve this one again!

The cottage is awesome. A refuge perfect for snuggling by the fireplace, a great kitchen for preparing intimate meals, and lovely bathroom and laundry with all the soaps provided.

Beautiful Cottage South of Portland

This cottage is just as beautiful in person as the pictures show. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood. The owner is extremely kind and helpful, offering suggestions for restaurants, etc. We had a great time with the cottage as our home base as we travelled around Oregon. Thanks for the hospitality!

Yes, truly a retreat!

The Travelers Retreat met every expectation and then some. The deck and surrounding gardens are perfect. The amenities are complete. The Murphy bed is very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who needs a home away from home in the Tualatin or Wilsonville area.

Relaxing and comfortable

We loved our stay! We were looking for a quiet place to relax and kick back to escape the busyness of the summer. We found it here! It was nicely situated between Portland and the places we wanted to visit, including Swan Island Dahlia Farm. I highly recommend!

This is the perfect getaway property!

Everything about my stay was top-notch! I was met with a friendly greeting by one of the property owners as she was out working but n her beautiful garden. The cottage was cozy, yet spacious, clean and has many lovely homey touches in decor. I loved all the available light from the windows and efficiently layer to it kitchen. The Murphy bed was super comfortable for me. This property is in the country but very close to freeway access as well I would definitely stay here again.

Spacious and Quiet

Traveler's Retreat is remarkably roomy and located in a quiet semi-rural neighborhood. While we spent most of each day away visiting friends and relatives, there was a porch, overlooking a garden, on which to sit and read. We found it very convenient and relaxing.

Perfect Cottage

This was the perfect little cottage for our stay. We loved everything about it. So cozy and it had everything you could need. The owners are on site in their own home on the property and were very friendly when we needed them to answer a few questions. A little in the country so very quiet but close enough to everything. Would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely Perfect Cottage

Our stay was fantastic. This cottage is seriously the cutest, well put together place that made us feel right at home. There is nothing I can say other than it was PERFECT! Jim and Bestie were very attentive when we needed something we forgot to bring. They were so friendly and we really are so happy we picked this place to stay for our sons wedding weekend.

Great Stay - Weekend Trip

We really enjoyed staying here. We are a young couple from Colorado, and we were just in Portland for the weekend to explore. This was a great location and a very comfortable stay. We had plenty of space and enjoyed relaxing and watching some TV after long days of driving and hiking. We had easy access to the highways, and we were in a good spot to explore the city as well as the Columbia River Gorge. Jim was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. We would stay here again!

Beautiful spot

We stayed here for four nights and throughly enjoyed ourselves. Close to many Portland area sites. Very large living room, bedroom combination and large bathroom. TV had lots of options including on demand, movies and premium channels. Had snacks, water, great coffee maker and fridge. No real cooking facilities.

it's in our VRBO Hall of Fame

Lovely place, warm, friendly and welcoming. We f immediately felt at home and at ease. There are so many thoughtful touches that made staying here one of, if not the best, VRBO experiences we've ever had. Jim and Betsie are perfect hosts-making you feel at home in their place. Anything we needed, they took care of. We felt so comfortable that we had friends "over" a couple evenings to sit on the deck and share a bottle of wine. In addition, this really is an accessible accommodation. Having a friend in a wheelchair, many places SAY they're accessible because there are no stairs. Everything - wider doorways, shower, ramps, bathroom counter - in this place is, in fact, accessible. We loved staying here and really hated leaving. Thank you Jim and Betsie. We will definitely send you an invite when we get settled into our new home in the area.

Spacious and Beautifully Appointed

It was such a pleasure for me to come to the Traveler's Retreat after a workshop in the area. The quiet country setting appealed to me. It is not far to stores or restaurants and was within a mile of the location of my workshop. The studio is very spacious, beautifully decorated, and has many amenities. I appreciated Jim meeting me promptly on my arrival and walking me through the unit to explain electronics, etc. To my delight, there is an electric fireplace below the t.v. The flames were good company and provided real warmth which I was able to enjoy as I relaxed on a cold, rainy evening. It was great having a microwave and mini fridge, both of which I used. There were also snacks available and extra toiletries in case something was forgotten. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is very large, the walk-in shower very roomy. The only downside for me was that I only had one night to stay and needed to leave early the next morning for day two of my workshop. I will definitely stay here again! It was a breath of fresh air to have such a wonderful retreat to come into at the end of a long day!
