This is a beautiful home full of character and charm. It is so close to the centre of town so really convenient for shops and restaurants and really quiet overnight. It had everything we needed. A new washer and drier. Comfy bed. Lovely hot shower. Easy access and the home owners were really helpful and responsive.I would highly recommend staying here.
We enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the Alexander McKee House. A beautiful, clean property right in the centre of the historic NOTL district. Lots of modern amenities in a great period house. Everything we wanted to do was within a short walk and the host was really responsive.
We had such a lovely time in Alexander House- best supplied kitchen we have ever rented in plus the 1 block from Queen St with the shops & restaurants & 2 blocks to the beautiful Lakeside Park
Enjoyed a reunion with a few family members who joined me for part of my stay. This is a delightful heritage house,Beautifully restored maintaining its antique charm along with all the modern conveniences.Perfect location for walking everywhere in the old town.
Incredible location steps from all of NOTL's Queen Street attractions and Simcoe park. Perfect location for a weekend of theater at the Shaw Festival, comfortable inside and out, with a lovely quiet garden for socializing between shows. A historic house with all the updates you need.
Wonderful historic home literally a step or two away from the main downtown of NOTL and Lake Ontario, Queens Beach Park. House was historic but had the creature comforts of home. Sindy and Drew were wonderful hosts. We will stay here again, unless you all who read this book it up, which you should!
Sindyâs place was the perfect location to all the shops, parks, restaurants and water. We never had to use the car at all! The Alexander McKee house is a beautiful historical home that took us back in time. We had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and furnishings and a gorgeous porch and patio surrounded by lush plants and flowers. We canât say enough good things about Sindyâs place and will definitely be back next year!
We loved everything about this house and the community. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and furnished in 19th century antiques, just one block from Queen Street and 2 blocks from the waterfront and bike trail access. Wish we lived closer so we could return frequently!
Our stay was wonderful. The house is about a 5 minute walk from all the amenities on Queen Street, but extremely quiet and tucked away.Would highly recommend both the house and the area. Looking forward to visiting again.
It is a perfect location and thereâs something really calming and relaxing about the property despite being so close to everything. For such an old house itâs very well maintained and comfortable.
We enjoyed our 5-night stay in the beautifully restored Alexander McKee House. The attention to historical detail is truly remarkable. If you close your eyes when the horse-drawn carriages go by, you could almost imagine yourself transported back to 1835. Highly recommend!
A really special experience: enjoy the beautiful town of NOTL while staying one of its original homes! The house is dark but has plenty of lighting, wide wooden floorboards, charming bedrooms. And, it has modern creature comforts like a dishwasher (not terribly common in rentals in this area), full new washer and dryer, modern locking system, off-street parking. Large, comfortable living room with good seating and a TV we didnât use. Upstairs beds are very comfortable. The home is immaculate and the owners definitely ask a level of respect from visitors to keep it looking great (no shoes on inside â the norm in Canadian homes) to keep it that way.I wish I knew more about the heritage of the house: who was Alexander Mckee, what did it look like in 1835 when the home was built, and more. Overall a great stay, really comfortable and with a twist of history. One important note! The one bathroom that includes the shower is on the main floor off the kitchen, and the wooden stairs to the second floor are rather steep. Not ideal for nighttime trips to the loo, especially if you have any issues with balance or other.
My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend this delightful little house in Old Town. Itâs well outfitted and very clean, and we appreciate the good communication with the owner. Fantastic location, too!
The house was exactly as advertised. Good communication with owner and getting in was easy. We loved sitting in the chairs on the front porch. Very clean and decorated in the period of the home with beautiful wide plank floors. Everything we needed was available. And the location was perfect
This cottage is in a fabulous location! Walk to town and theatres. Very historial and cozy. The steep stairs to the upstairs 2 bedrooms may not be ideal for guests with a mobiliy issue. The bedrooms are large and cozy. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Sindy is a fabulous host!
