Lovely home

Very cute home for long weekend at Higgins Lake. We found it to be very clean. Well equipped kitchen with all the pots, pans and dishes you could need. Loved the open loft space for teenager, the pullout sofa was comfortable. Only thing missing was a BBQ grill, that would've been perfect for the weekend. Very responsive and good communication. Would book again. Thank you for sharing your home.

Wonderful Stay

We chose this cabin because our daughter got married at The Barn at Higgins Lake, approx 1/2 mile away. The cabin is very roomy, clean and has a loft area with bedroom, bathroom and sitting area. Our 16 year old loved his “own space”. My mom stayed with us the second night and loved it as well! We couldn’t be happier with our weekend getaway!

Red House Retreat

The house was cute, clean, and well maintained. It was private and quiet, and still a short drive to the beach. The check in process was seamless. Also, the beds were comfy, and we appreciated the extra touches. Perfect getaway spot!

Relaxing getaway

My husband and I stayed here for four days. Property was exceptionally clean and communication with host was easy. I have been unfortunately under the weather so I really enjoyed laying on the couch with the cozy fireplace on watching Netflix. We did take advantage of the 70 degree weather and took our dog to Higgins lake and walked around the area.

Loved this home

This house was so cozy and comfortable. We loved our stay here. The owners put so much thought into practical items such as lots of hooks, blankets, pillows, beach chairs, fully stocked kitchen etc. The beds were very comfortable. Upstairs was great for our 2 older kids. Loft was nice. Neiborhood was quiet. The S higgins lake public beach and Nibbles ice cream shop were just 5 minutes away. We saw lots of deer and will definitely book this property the future. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Jenn was a great host! Responded very quickly, and was very accommodating to our requests. The house was very comfortable and well stocked for all of our needs. It was absolutely clean and cosy.

Wonderful Visit!

I came here with my dog for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Perfect place. Check in was very easy. The place was very clean and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. Everything I needed to prepare meals was available. I had a wonderful stay, I would definitely come back here 😊

Cute, comfortable and modern cottage

We really enjoyed the rental. The house is recently remodeled with nice fixtures and finishes. The owner made us feel welcome with a gift basket of treats. All the electronics are new, the wifi was fast and the a/c worked great downstairs (it was a hot weekend!). We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect!

Cute, cozy, quiet cabin! We loved our stay. The house was clean and had everything we needed. (Ps the upstairs AC was nice and cold!) The beds and linens were nice too. Little things like the hand soap and hand towels were so nice, as we have stayed at many rentals that didn’t provide anything at all. VERY NICE! Thank you, we had a great time. Would definitely rent again.

My wife and I needed a weekend getaway with the kids because of the lack of sunshine here in Michigan. This place certainly brightened the day. First off, my daughter (14) and wife loved the look of it in their ad. I certainly delivered in person. Second, it was cozy and warm, and even my son (17), who doesn't generally care about aesthetics, really enjoyed the place. Check-in was good. Host communication is excellent. And the beds, I swept so well. My wife said the same. We'll be back. Thank Jenn.

Cute and Charming

You never know how a property will work out. This one hit it out of the park. Great welcome basket! It was a great location for us. Close to The Barn wedding venue. Very quite, clean, well stocked with items needed. We stayed there with our 80 year father and it worked perfectly for him. He said the bed on the lower level was very comfortable. He loved sitting at the fire pit even when there was no fire. Just the sounds of nature made him smile. The beds upstairs where comfortable. Air conditioning was perfect. The place could use a another mirror in the lower level bedroom for getting ready. We did make it work. I would definitely return and recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Middle of the road, but clean

Unfortunately and unwisely VRBO limits characters, so this will be down and dirty. The good: It was clean (overall, linens, towels, dishes, etc.). There was a mishmash of kitchen ware, which was enough to cook for a family. All appliances worked. There were kayaks & paddleboards in the garage for use, as well as an additional patio table set. The shower had liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. Newer fridge with ice maker. The queen bed on the main floor was comfortable. The grill worked and had gas in the bottle. The neighborhood was quiet and there were no nosey neighbors. There were two lakes close, with trails which we appreciated. This property was much more reasonable (price vs space and condition) than the others that were in the area. Issues we had: 1. We arrived 1:05 after the check-in time and the cleaning was still being finished. 2. We swatted flies the first day and a half. Not swarms, but at least 50, in that time. 3. The Air conditioning came from a portable floor unit. This is not in the add pictures. 4. No lighting in the living room. 5. The ceiling fan in the living room, takes a few flips of the switch, to start turning. 6. If you like filtered water, bring your own filter. 7. Parking in the Garage would require you to move the additional patio table set, outside. 8. Basement bedroom was dank. 9. The gas stove ignitors stayed on (clicking) no matter what we tried. 10. The grill either needs to be cleaned or replaced. Lastly, we’ve been to a few VRBOs and this one is right in the middle. It is clean, reasonable, and nicer than other local properties, in the same price range. We gave it 3 stars, but with a few easy tweaks, better attentiveness/communication, and accurate photos (the portable A/C unit), it would rate higher.

This property was beautiful, clean, and stocked with everything you could need and more! Great location in proximity to Higgins and Houghton lakes, quiet neighborhood, easy to find. We could not have been happier with our time at this rental. Will definitely stay here again!

Up North Retreat

My family had a wonderful getaway at this property. Everything was wonderful, from the amenities, to the snack basket, to the fire pit. My kids brought their scooters from home and enjoyed riding up and down the long driveway. We sat aroind the fire pit each night of our stay. My kods were sad to leave this sweet up north retreat.

Felt like home

Cute and cozy. Very convenient for everything we had planned for our weekend. We only ended up with 6 people total, 2 adults and 4 teen boys... and that was perfect. Well furnished kitchen and bathroom.
