This home offers a private pool, hot tub, rec room with wet bar, and pool table, which means fun for all ages! Located just s few steps from the Atlantic, your family will enjoy ocean views from your private decks, and convenient access to our white sandy beaches at all hours of the day. This home is certain to be your DREAM vacation home for many years to come.

The perfect location in the heart of Nags Head means less driving and more relaxing. Close to fine dining, shopping and attractions. Close to Roanoke Island, home to The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama, NC Aquarium and Kill Devil Hills, sight of the First Flight and the Wright Brothers Memorial to teach everyone about the life altering event in US History. Also just minutes from a well known landmark that supposedly got its name since it was a well known horse racing spot. Spectators would climb to the highest dunes to view the races below, we now call - Jockey's Ridge. Visitors climb to the top, fly kites and even hang glide from this unbelievable sand dune formed by Mother Nature.

Great Time!

The only problems we had were standing water around the hose/shower and lack of a hand rail to the pool. I am unsteady on my feet and would have appreciated a handrail.

I would warn though for any older renters- the walk down the dunes to get to the beach is very steep and coming back up is tough! Would be nice to have a hand rail or something to help you as you sink into the sand and can fall. Some of the mattresses need to be replaced also but overall a big win for us and our family!

Reviewer Comments: The house was very nice we had no problem with cleanliness the only problem was the jets in the hot tub did not work and the pool was never cleaned had a lot of sand in it. The patio out side had a lot of sand also so I found a shovel and cleaned it myself. Other than that it was great I would use the property again.

Great Location and Home for Our Crew

The house is a bit more dated than some we have stayed in, but it was clean, perfectly functional and the location was awesome. Steps from the beach and a short walk or drive to most anything you need. We loved the number of bathrooms, including the bathroom out by the pool which worked great for beach/pool potty breaks. We had a dog with us and the space was great for him. The fenced pool area was perfect for a pet. We would have loved to have a second fridge on the kitchen level, but we made things work. The views of the ocean from the top deck were a morning and evening must for our crew. For the group we had (15 at the peak) there was ample space to be together and get away to one of the sitting areas if needed. This is a spot we would stay in again.

It also could have been a bit cleaner.....not bad, but, not great. We initially tried to sweep the upstairs floor but found no broom....we purchased and left a broom. There appeared to be an issue with the pool not as clean as we’d expect. Lots of rooms with adequate parking.

NO HOT TUB and Pool is dirty

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is large and in a great location but we complained about the hot tub not working every day of our stay. Rental company did not respond until I escalated level of complaint and then the hot tub guy showed up on the last day and could not fix the hot tub. The pool was also dirty. I don't think I should have to be rude in order to get someone to pay attention. For the $$$, I expected more.

Beach Vacation 2022

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a very large house and met our needs. One of the biggest downfalls was it really needs an elevator! We thought the pool would be small but it was perfect. Around the pool (mostly sandy area) It had a lot of trash so wasn't that clean. The inside was ok, but you could tell it was cleaned very fast and we didn't even get in early. The TV system was AWFUL...AWFUL...AWFUL! The internet needs to be improved and TV provider more friendlier to use. The company you talk with needs to know the house a little better. I think we can say we left the place better than what we got it. House was more than big enough and perfect location!

Wonderful place for our 2 week vacation!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic time at An American Dream! We stayed for 2 weeks in early October and the house was the perfect place to stay during our visit. The location is great - set back from Hwy 12 and a private walkway to the beach was wonderful. Our dogs loved running in the sand pit in the pool area, and the decks overlooking the ocean were a beautiful place to watch the sunrise. Very convenient location that’s close enough to walk/ride bikes to the grocery store, coffee, both Swellsa and Outer Banks Brewing Station, and lots of restaurants. It would be a great choice for a larger group as there are large common areas for everyone to gather, but also multiple sitting rooms so people can spread out and do their own thing. The mattress in the upstairs king master could use updating, and the hot tub was in a bit of disrepair - it was hot so it served its purpose, but the controls aren’t fully functional so adjusting temp and turning on the jets was generally not possible. There wasn’t a full set of measuring cups/spoons in the kitchen so we left some for future guests to use. Everything else was fantastic!

An American Dream Aug 2023

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was big and in a good location. Several things are in a state of disrepair: Floor boards of the wooden sitting area on walkway to beach are loose and popped up.Old chairs and trash were left on the benches. Hottub not working and pool full of sand, rental manager responded via text but no one ever came to clean or fix either of these during the whole week. I notified on Tuesday. Sand got worse in the pool with 2 rain storms and no one ever came out. I sent multiple text messages. Kitchen cabinets don't stay closed. Beds in the top floor bunk bedroom all need new mattresses. I would not rent this house again.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived we thought that perhaps the cleaning team had skipped the house. The front door area was dirty, sandy and the door mat was gross. My immediate thought was, "did I really pay $22,000 for a week? for that kind of money, I expected the front to be welcoming. I called to alert the rental company of 1) littered trash around the house, 2)the sandy area by the pool was also trashy and had corks, hair bands...3) the kitchen sink was not draining. We wound up picking up the trash and plunging the sink ourselves. Major disappointments: 1) several of the mattresses were worn out, extremely soft, 2) beside the bunk beds there was trash, food and wrappers, a broken dresser drawer was laying on the floor 3) behind the couch in the game room is filthy. 4) The house is dated. 5) several loose boards on the deck. The house is in a great location but NOT worth the money that we paid. I feel like the entrance should be welcoming and clean and the beds should be comfortable--all else could be excused, but someone should check behind the cleaning team and the pool area should be raked and checked for debris.

Great house for a family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I am glad I chose American Dream. My first comment is Beach Realty needs to update the site for the house. They have made many changes which make the property more desirable. Such as improved furniture, new washer, a new walkway to the new dune deck and replacing the 80's wallpaper with clean white paint. It's a very nice house. My family of 11 had plenty of room to spread out. The management really dropped the ball on the AC! When we arrived, we discovered only one of the three units was producing properly. No excuse for not having addressed the situation. No way could an inspection by management have missed the disaster about to happen. One unit was completely rotted away. I've never seen anything like it. Would love to share a picture - completely corroded. I called BR at 9 on Mon morning and they had a maintenance guy there within an hour and he had an HVAC guy there in another hour. Unfortunately the systems were too far gone for repair. They installed multiple window units by 5 that afternoon. Not a good situation but better than enduring the 95 plus heat. Praise for quick response. Not so much for allowing the situation to occur. The pool gets a lot of sand when it rains - washing down from the dune. It was clean when we arrived so obviously this is a continual problem. The kitchen could be better supplied. There are lots of plates but only heavy, breakable glasses (had to go for solo cups for the kids.) Dozens of old steak knives but severely lacking in tableware. Ice maker doesn't work. Stove not the best. Provided linens and towels are surprisingly nice. Location is excellent. Service and response was excellent. Our family had a good week enjoying the beach, pool and area. (Even the local urgent care was excellent which we unfortunatley had to visit - twice!) Would recommend!

The HVAC units have been thoroughly inspected, repaired, and brought up to full working condition. Your feedback on the sand flow into the pool has also been noted, and we will explore potential solutions to minimize this inconvenience. We sincerely hope there will be another time in the future where we will have the chance to impress you with one of our vacation rentals!

The best vacation!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed at this property for a family vacation, there was plenty of space, a bedroom and bathroom for everyone. My 88-year-old dad loved waking up and having his coffee outside on the deck overlooking the beach. We made a lot of fun memories! The property management company was very professional and prompt, we were there during the most recent tropical storm and had some roof shingles come loose and a little water leaking in the front room, they came out quickly to address the situation. I was very impressed. Don't hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it!

NIce House, Great Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was well-suited for our 3-generation family of 10. The beds in the kids' rooms were not very comfortable, but they didn't complain. The kitchen was well-equipped with cookware and dishes, just a couple of dish towels. The outdoor shower area was handy, as well as the shower/spigot on the deck to rinse off the sand. We opted for the canopy setup daily from the rental company and that worked out well. The location was the best part of the house: on the beach, away from crowds, yet close to the grocery store and the urgent care.

American Dream

This property is definitely the American dream! We absolutely loved it. It was perfect for our extended family and waking up to the sunrise every morning was perfection! The kids loved the game room and the pool was amazing.
