Book now for BLUESFEST & EASTER HOLS. Only a 9-minute WALK to the pristine beach & skatepark. Kookaburras is a beautifully appointed, NEWLY renovated FAMILY HOME, situated on a leafy peaceful street in the Idyllic village of South Golden Beach, North Byron. This bright and airy house is a perfect mix of comfort and style with lots of natural light. Can sleep up to 7 guests over 3 bedrooms. Only a 9-minute WALK to the pristine beach & skatepark.
DOG FRIENDLY with a fully fenced private garden and covered outdoor relaxation area.
The space
Kookaburras space is set over just the one level. Our spacious open plan living area has a large sofa, comfy hanging egg chair, SMART TV, and dining area. There is direct access to the lovely outside space with plenty of seating. Ceiling fans.
The delightful kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, 4 ring cooktop, oven, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster, kettle, air fryer and large fridge freezer. Along with a breakfast bar.

The Master Queen bedroom has an ensuite shower room and built in wardrobes, ceiling fan and access to the outside space.
Space to fit a travel cot if required.
The 2nd Queen bedroom is spacious enough and has a mirrored wardrobe and drawers.
The 3rd bedroom has a lovely bunkbed with the bottom bunk acting as a double bed and mounted wall fan.
The family bathroom comes with a shower and separate toilet.
Towels and toiletries are provided at the beginning of your stay.

Stay connected with onsite WIFI

In a bid to 'do our bit' we only use Eco-friendly products throughout the house and believe our lovely bottoms should be wiped with only the best. You will find 'who gives a crap' toilet roll in all our bathrooms.

Ocean shores shopping centre is a 7 minute drive away and the picturesque village of Brunswick Heads is a mere 10 minutes.

Kookaburras is a 25 min drive from Coolangatta airport, 20 mins to Byron Bay

Other things to note
Towels and toiletries are provided at the beginning of your stay. There are laundry facilities on site but if you wish to have extra towels provided, these can be delivered to you at an extra cost. If toiletries and toilet paper run out during your stay then these will need to be replenished by yourselves.
We do not provide beach towels, unfortunately, please bring these with you.

Everything you need for a relaxing, beautiful holiday

The 4 adults and 2 teenagers all really enjoyed our stay at South Golden Beach. The house had everything, we had several B-B-Q's and lounged around on the outside deck. My daughter had 2 dogs but with the fully enclosed fence we could relax and let them run. Koala House was close to the beautiful beach(it had a dog friendly beach as well) and was close to the wonderful Mrs Birdie Cafe and had a local shopping area close by. Loved, loved the friendly laid back people and dress code. FANTASTIC HOLIDAY, THANK YOU!!!

Very close to South Golden Beach. Home was well equipped. Lovely outdoor area and yard for dogs. Grass needed a mow as there were lots of prickles. Thought we were booking a house, but it’s a duplex with very thin walls. Young family with 2 young babies living right next door so heard lots of crying early mornings, which meant no sleep ins.

Sisters getaway

It was an enjoyable stay and secure fencing for the dog. Unfortunately the manager was unable to rectify the tv not working during the week we were there but did her best. A fair refund has been offered for the inconvenience.

July holidays

It is a well appointed home with a beautiful outdoor area. The kitchen has all the basics for those who like to cook. The home is in quite neighbourhood, close to the beach and a 10min drive to the shops. We had a lovely time with the kids and our dog. It was a quick drive to Tweed heads, Bangalore and Byron Bay. We enjoyed cycling, the local markets, art galleries, fishing, walks, Crystal gardens and more. There is little light pollution so the nightsky is beautiful from the beach. The next time we visit we'll go snorkelling and hire out kyaks.

The house and area was lovely. Apart from the garden not having been maintained before we arrived, we had a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend this property.

Tranquil Kookaburras

We really enjoyed our stay at Kookaburras, recently renovated, very comfortable beds and easy walking distance to the beach, a coffee and breakfast at Mrs Birdy or a pizza at Yum Yums.

Hi, I am Jenny! Myself and my young family made the Byron shire our home in January 2020, after emigrating from the UK and we LOVE it. Living locally means I can be a provide a personal experience and be a 'hands on' host if needed. I can offer lots of great tips for exploring the local area. We love to travel and love the great outdoors, especially the Ocean. Our love for the sea has taken us all over the world as Scuba diving Instructors and we are so blessed to have had those experiences. I love to go for long runs, do Yoga with my friends and am currently learning to surf along with my 3 children! I have over 5 years of experience in property management and hosting, and just recently set up my own hosting business in the area - Ocean Vibes Property Management. My Partner is the local handyman and plumber and so he is on hand if any issues arise during your stay. We are committed to offering a fabulous stress-free stay to all our guests, allowing you to kick back, relax and enjoy this beautiful part of our amazing planet!
