Lovely place where you wake up to birdsong, drive to local towns are lovely but equally nice to just stay inside the cottage which is very comfortable and well equipped with all you need.
The property was ideally located, quiet, and in an area where we were able to take long walks. The host also left us fresh vegetables which was lovely.
Despite being "pet friendly" our dogs were not allowed off the leash due to owner having chickens, this was a shame as the dogs would have loved to run around the paddock beside the accommodation, which did not seem to be near the chickens.
Stanley Hideaway was the perfect destination for a much needed wind-down. The cottage was light, spacious and had everything we needed, surrounded by beautiful garden with camelias and daphne all in bloom. No traffic noise at all, just the songs of the huge variety of birds. Only a 7 minute drive into Beechworth which was buzzing due to the public holidays and so glad we could retire out of town on this gorgeous property.
Welcoming hosts. Very attractive, well equipped and spacious cottage. Great peaceful location. Guests need to be aware that there is 8 km to Beechworth and no local shops although some good farm shops and the Stanley pub has a few items. No oven on site and no wifi.
Our pet dog was welcomed.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves because we were aware of the various situations. So attractively furnished.
We had millipedes whilst there but having lived in the country before were not surprised.
Loved it. Comfortable and lovely surroundings/
Such a lovely and peaceful place to have a quiet holiday. Hosts were lovely and very helpful and lovely drives around this picturesque area. Would recommend to everyone 10/10
Converted shed full of millipedes. I evicted 20 or so each day. Could not watch Netflix provided as too many other users on the property. Couldn't find the place initially and no phone reception (optus) in stanley to ring anyone. When I eventually got there the owner tells me my dogs will be shot if they go on neighbouring property, unecessary as they are both on leads always. Local publican unhelpful and pub meals overpriced. Otherwise nice quiet cabin with everything you need. Beautiful area with great walks.
This was a well equipped bungalow was relaxed, comfortable and which allowed dogs. It lacked a secure outdoor area for the dogs to be left on the property oterhwise all good.
The hosts (and Dora the dog) looked after us and our dog, Monty, very well. Stanley was surprisingly quaint with a great little pub for dinner. The cabin was larger than expected and very well appointed. Had all you needed. Quiet and secluded location with nice gardens.
This is truly a piece of paradise; just perfect for a weekend or short stay away. Close enough to Beechworth without being in the 'thick of it'. We loved it. Our host was wonderful.
