This recently renovated mountain home is the answer to a picture-perfect vacation! Inside Sunnyside offers a chef’s kitchen and generous seating and serving space. Enjoy not one or two, but three beautifully decorated gathering spaces. One of those gathering spaces includes foosball and air hockey! There are plenty of oversized TVs in comfortable spaces so separating the sports fans from the movies watchers is amazingly easy. Sunnyside provides lots of nooks and spaces for readers, nappers, and even serious card players. Five beautifully decorated bedrooms create privacy and extra, extra comfort. Outside Sunnyside presents spectacular opportunities for fun-lovers of just about every age. There is an onsite lake and kayaks for the adventurous ones in the gang. The new Amish built wooden playset is sure to provide hours of entertainment for youngsters. And of course, after a hard day of play, the outside hot tub will provide comfort for weekend warriors of every age! Spacious inside and out, games and play spaces inside and out, this one is sure to be everyone’s favorite Canaan Valley vacation spot. Fun large family getaway

Our stay was great. We went skiing and watched the deer in the backyard. The only concern I had was the air hockey game table didnt work, and the "game room" was 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. It was a little confusing about the check out process. One place says strup the linens and take to the laundry room floor. Another place it says to strip the bed linens and place on floor of rroom.There was plenty of space for all 13 of us with room to spare.

Roomy Kitchen and eating area, lake for fishing and kanoeing, game room for the youngsters, Dolly Sods and nature park for hiking, Davis nearby for shop crawling. What's not to like??

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You will not regret staying at Sunnyside. The house is beautiful, spacious, and well stocked. The location is peaceful and refreshing, providing the ideal retreat from life's hectic pace. There are a lot of stairs as the pictures show and of course the house could use a good cleaning but we will not hesitate to rent again. A truly wonderful family vacation.

Great house!

Great for our long ski weekend! House was well equipped with everything needed. Very clean and organized. Kids loved the game room and the adults loved the kitchen/great room space.

Labor Day Weekend Family/Friends Trip

We had a great time staying at this gorgeous property with 8 adults and 9 kids! We had everything we needed and knew who to contact if we needed something. The hot tub, pond, and beautiful scenery were all great perks! Thank you for allowing us to stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Something to do inside and out! We are family --Sunnyside pleases all ages. Love the open area for cooking, eating, games and relaxing. We climb up to Dolly Sods, go fishing and enjoy the hot tub. The owners leave thoughtful instructions to make our stay easy.

Perfect for a big family vacation!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is lovely, peaceful and private. Great hiking right outside our door. Loved kayaking and sitting by the pond. Enjoyed the hot tub. Discovered a fantastic 4th of July celebration/fireworks in nearby Harman! So nice to have separate areas for kids to play and not disturb others. Very accomodating rental agency- they even mailed back a few items left in the dryer! Coffee pots had not been cleaned out (still had used filters in them) and kitchen trash had not been taken out. Otherwise,in great shape when we got there!

The Best Get Away Ever

This was our second stay at Sunnyside. It has plenty of space for our large extended family to spread out and relax. The kids loved fishing in the catch and release lake and the lake is the perfect size for a kayak race. They have added a new fire pit area that was perfect to sit around late and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house is very clean and has one of the most well stocked kitchens of any place we have stayed.

Fabulous Vacation Home!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was one of our favorite vacation homes ever. It was roomy, very clean, well stocked with everything we might need (including a wonderfully well stocked kitchen), and was beautiful inside and out. The 5 bedrooms were supplemented with 2 extra living areas which can be used as bedrooms. One has a door, and the other has a curtain. There are labels everywhere to show where things belong and how everything best works. The outside is so much fun with kayaks for the pond, corn hole, a beautiful playset for the kids, a great hot tub, and lots of outdoor seating and tables. There are even extra folding chairs in the garage for extra seating. Check-in was a breeze as the realty company is located not far from the property, so we just picked up the keys on our way in. They were very friendly and gave us a map to the property in case our navigation didn't work (which it did-Apple maps). There were great activities close by. We visited in the summer (everything was so green!), and enjoyed hiking at Blackwater Falls SP as well as other waterfalls in nearby Thomas, riding the ski lift at Canaan Valley Resort for beautiful summer views, visiting caverns less than an hour away, and eating at wonderful, trendy restaurants in Davis and Thomas. One thing to consider when renting: our family loves keeping physically fit and exercising, so this was perfectly fine with us, but do be aware that there are a good number of stairs to navigate inside the home and off the back deck. Our family had a fantastic time and would love to visit this property again!

ski trip

My family has planned a ski trip to this area for over 20 years. We have stayed at several different places. I would have to rate this the best place we have ever stayed. It had everything you needed to make the stay enjoyable.

Outstanding home

The floor plan was terrific for our multiple-family visit. Three bedrooms downstairs for one family, a large suite over the garage for one family, and a master just off the living area for the grandparents. The game room and multiple living spaces allowed everyone to spread out, and the number and location of full and half baths was perfect. We have rented many vacation houses and couldn’t believe how this one was supplied - from every kitchen tool/appliance you could need to more than enough towels to spare pillows and blankets to kayaks, games and more to comfortable furniture, we could go on and on…

Christmas with the "Framily"

Second year of spending Christmas here for our three families. Close to everything and plenty of space. I wish there was an option between 4 and 5 stars as our only struggle is that we don't use as much of the space as we could because of the temperature regulation. The downstairs tends to be cold unless you have the upstairs too hot. Overall we love it though and will be back next year unless our soldiers are deployed.
