Our home is on the waters that overlooks in the Gold coast and the hinterland. <br>

Our beautiful home is on the waters edge of Southern Russell Island . It is a Queensland with a wrap around verandah where you can sit with an afternoon drink and watch the amazing sunsets. It has its uniqueness set with surrounding trees and gardens.
The Queenslander has two bedrooms , one with a Queen Size comfortable bed and the other with King Single . We have one very large smart TV in the lounge and another smaller television in the main bedroom. The kitchen is very well equiped for everyones needs.
Outside on the verandah there is a Webber where you can cook a yummy breakfast , lunch or dinner, while you are surrounded by nature.
We have a small tinny where you can throw out a crab pot and catch yummy mud crabs . We have a Canadian Canoe you can paddle from the grass edge in front of the house to enjoy on a lovely sunny day .
Your relaxing stay at Sunset getaway begins as soon as you board your Bay Islands Transit Ferry at Redland Bay Ferry Terminal. Relax and enjoy the view of the islands, you might even be lucky enough to see a dolphin, dugong or turtle as you come across the bay. Once you disembark at Russell Island and travel to our lovely Sunset Getaway at the South end of the Island. It is like heaven here with no traffic lights , no round about or the hustle and bustle of city living is behind you. Now is the time to pick up some groceries at the local IGA or buy some drinks at the local liquor store. Get some bait and tackle at the local grocery store so you can throw out the line and catch a Fish or two or crab pot so you can have a feast of mud crabs
If you don't want to cook at all, there are plenty of places to eat at .
Aunty Alice's Café, Roseys, RSL, Bowls Club and the Bakery for a great pie, Memory Lane, where the food is spectacular. The clubs have a courtesy bus so you don’t even need to drive . You can arrange to go to Macleay Island Bowls Club right on the waterfront where they will pick you up from the ferry and drop you back. There is Free inter island travel. Doesn't get any better.
When arriving at Sunset Getaway you can't help but be delighted as you take in the stunning water views with the Gold Coast and Hinterlands as the back drop. You can grab a drink and sit on the lounge chairs outside and watch the boat traffic sail past.
We are minutes from Sandy Beach. Enjoy a 5 minute walk to Sandy Beach. Take a picnic lunch or enjoy a swim. From Sandy Beach enjoy the view over to North Stradbroke and down the Channel to Slippery Sands There is plenty to keep you busy. If you want to relax at the Getaway we , books to read, great television with Netflix and Stan.
Just a few housekeeping rules to keep the place in good condition for everyone to enjoy; We ask that you don't smoke at the house
or play loud music after 10.00 at night. Please respect our home they way you do your own . Have a wonderful stay .
