This is an incredible cabin with a rustic flavor. Just a short drive to Bear Ears National Monument. Bring your side by side's and trailers because there is ample parking located on this property. It has everything you need for your next trip to Southeastern Utah. Wifi and great cell service at the property. There is not extra cost to use the great parking options for your trailers, RV's, and all of your toys. Come and enjoy!

A pair of towering buttes stand against beautiful scenery. The twin buttes are so distinctive that in each of the native languages of the region their name is the same: Hoon'Naqvut, Shash Jáa, Kwiyagatu Nukavachi, Ansh An Lashokdiwe, or in English: Bears Ears.

Bears Ears National Monument includes red rock, juniper forests, a high plateau, and an abundance of early human and Native American historical artifacts. The Navajo Nation, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Hopi Nation, and other tribes are extremely tied to this land.

*The property also includes a small basement apartment that is sometimes use by the owner & caretaker when they are in town to perform maintenance to the property

Really appreciated this reasonably priced spacious home complete with full kitchen and full-size laundry appliances after a long day of travel. In my opinion, this home is more suited to a family because the upstairs bath and the upstairs main bedroom share an open ceiling. So, just be aware the bedrooms are located on the top floor with the second full bath located on the main floor.

Quiet and cute cat to greet you

This house was perfect for my friend and myself traveling through the area looking at geological formations! The cat was so sweet and was very well behaved, we named it Blanche!

It was ok. The open basement (office) that’s not supposed to be be entered wasn’t very clear in the ad. I feel this should have been more explained in the ad for the cabin. There were no issues with it but it was a surprise to find out about it in the text with our entry code.

I messaged owner prior to book for my ATV if property was accessible to ATV trails (those are hard to come by) I was assured there are plenty of trails accessible. I’ve booked trips every year and asked this same question for the most part I get honest answers and most properties are not accessible, so I don’t book. This property owner claimed it was accessible without trailering ATV. This property is located with in city limits on paved city streets and do NOT permit ATV riding!! There is NO trail accessible from home. I also thought I was renting a whole private residence, the ad does mention a small “apartment” an apartment by legal terms is a separate dwelling not accessible by another dwelling. Some stranger just walks I. The back downstairs back door of the property I rented as private ( I can see him and he can see me in the living room) that’s not an apartment that’s a roommate I know nothing about he’s a stranger in the private residence I rented!! The. Dishwasher and garbage disposal also would not turn on when I left message of it the reply I got was it properly needs resetting again (clearly an ongoing unresolved issue) the property itself was decent, a bit outdated and many signs of DIY projects not quite up to standards. Many blinds in need of replacement, poorly sealing windows and doors. Upstairs toilet didn’t flush well and didn’t properly stop running, weeds all over landscape and drive way. CST that hung around entire stay and many other stays before me.

The home is not located within city limits; however, while there are dirt roads accessible from the property, local regulations still restrict ATV use on certain connecting roads. We do our best to describe access accurately and will review our wording to ensure it’s as clear as possible for future guests. Regarding the lower-level apartment, this is disclosed in the listing description as a separate unit with its own private entrance. We understand that privacy expectations can vary, and we encourage guests to review all listing details carefully to ensure the property is the right fit. On first arriving at Log Haven we were excited at the character of the property. Unfortunately that excitement did not last. We do a lot of travelling and for the majority of occasions the homes are properly set up to provide guests with a pleasurable stay in which the facilities live up to the promise. Log Haven wasn't one of them.They cheaped out. The carpets were good, the beds were ok but with incomplete walls upstairs there was no real feeling of privacy. Everything else just felt cheap or cast off from the owner's own home.Such a pity. The potential offered so much more.

Old and Dated

The A/C wasn't cool or didn't work at all - the manager said it broke and they couldn't find anyone to fix it. The house is dated and dirty. Floors are uneven and sticky in spots. Not a pleasant stay.

Passing through

We stayed here passing through to the Canyon Lands. It was just one night but it was convenient for us. Nice place and lots of room. Everything was good and I’d recommend it to others. Only downside was grass had been mowed and was left in the parking area everywhere. Also the cat was cute but under your feet as you tried to get in and out. But thanks for the stay

Was just perfect for what we needed, although the bbqer wasn’t working well. Tried to cook some steaks and brats and one side never lit and the other never got hot enough. Had to end up cooking inside. Enjoyed the kitty, however my grandson was allergic.

We did not feel safe in this property

We paid for 3 nights but left after 1 sleepless night. There is no "apartment" in the basement - it is just an open stairwell so the person staying in the basement can access the entire house any time they want. In the morning when we got up there was a white golf tee on the top step just outside our bedroom. It was in an obvious place and we know it was not there when we went to bed. The only way it got there was someone put there in the middle of the night. We would not have heard them moving around since we had a floor fan running. It has been 48 hours since we talked to VRBO and over 3 days since we checked out. No one has contacted us about our request for refunds.
