Highland Valley Cottage 6

Accommodation at Bright Highland Valley Cottage 6 provides a delightful, cosy two bedroom unit set in peaceful park-like grounds. The cottage has everything you would need in a holiday unit, bright, modern and comfortable.
Located only one kilometre from the centre of Bright you have everything you need close by plus more. Take a ten minute stroll to Bright’s restaurants and shops, adjacent to the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and very close to the Heritage Canyon Walk along the Ovens River.

This property is managed on behalf of the owner by Bright Holidays (part of the Dickens Real Estate group).

Plenty to enjoy outdoors at these cottages. At the cottage itself you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on your own private veranda. In the warmer months, you can relax by the 10 meter, in-ground, salt water communal swimming pool while the kids go for a swim. Lockable bike shed for up to 4 bikes located in front of car space.

Fabulous stay!

Such a nice little place with modern, practical amenities and furniture, great shower, comfy beds and toasty warm on cool nights. The dining room is sunny and bright (see what I did there) and it’s conveniently located, yet still quiet. Will gladly stay again.

The unit was very clean and perfect for a get away from the coast. It was extremely well equipped and very clean. The pool was lovely. It was very easy to stay there

Lovely little cottage to stay at with a small family. Only dissapointment was cleanliness of the bathroom- bathroom cupboards had lots of hair and dust, also a few spiders crawling around in the three nights we were there!

Great stay

Nice hot shower after a long day of skiing. Check in and out process is really easy.

Quaint lovely accommodation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The accommodation seems to have recently been remodeled. It's a peaceful area and their is enough space between properties for privacy. We took our bikes and appreciated the shed to store them in.It's a great location and a short walk to the main town (but not exactly in town).

Great cottage

We had a great stay and were very comfortable. The sunny dining table nook was quite lovely. Couches and chairs comfy. Great shower. One improvement would be a nice sized cooking pot...but we made do with the frypan....and I always bring a sharp knife as they are always blunt, so this wasn't a surprise. Other than that,it was great for a family catch up. Exactly as described/photos and lovely and clean.

Keys not available

The interior is modern, and tastefully decorated. Some aspects of the exterior feel a little tired. The kitchen was well appointed. The check in process is poor. The keys were not available as described, and no one would answer phone calls. Eventually calls were answered. The system has to improve.

Cute ascetically but not practical for winter

Overall we were not estactic with our stay due to a couple of critical points that were not specified when booking. The most important to us was the lack of hot water. We have 4 people staying in this accomodation and even with short showers it didn’t last long enough for the fourth person to have a warm shower. This was extremely disheartening after a full day of freezing our butts off up on the mountains snowboarding. The second complaint was how terrible the heating was. We arrived to a cold house and the house struggled to heat up. In winter this should be a for-thought. We were required to do our own dishes and take out the bins which has never been a requirement in any other previous accomodation. Strange Thirdly- beds were not very comfortable, blankets didn’t have any proper covers. We didn’t feel like we got our moneys worth, it didn’t feels clean (dead cockroach when walking in and marks on sheets) or homely. Plus we had no access to the pool as it was covered up! Plus side very good location and easy access to keys pickup and drop off. Definitely could do with some upgrades. However bright was beautiful and would come back just at a different accomodation.

Really nice property, enjoyed our stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was ideal for us (a couple) and would also suit a couple with young children. Sharing with mates (e.g. four adults) might be a bit cosy. The lounge, and dining table (in an alcove surrounded by windows are really nice, and there's a well equipped kitchen suitable for cooking dinner. Main bedroom has a really comfortable king-size bed. In the bathroom (which is combined with a laundry) we would have liked a towel rail or some hooks to hang wet towels, but that's no biggie really.Key collection was seamless. We received our collection info and code the previous day and it's nice to know it was ready for us before we left home. It was spotlessly clean, and easy to find. We had no issues at all and had no need to interact with the property managers.Location is on the fringe of Bright, about 1km from centre of town, so people might choose to drive in, or it's a nice walk along the rail trail (accessed down the right-hand side of someone's garage) or the river-side walking track down the end of Frazers Lane across the main road. Apartment 6 is quite close to the main road (as is 7, alongside) but we were not bothered by traffic noise at all. Very light sleepers might prefer Apartments 2 to 5. There's a central lawn area where children can play safely, and a pool for summer. All up it's a really pleasant place in a nice spot.

Good location

Pleasant walk into town. Calm and pretty garden setting. Has a pool and all self contained facilities. Towels and linen were very clean. Linen was scratchy. Unit is tired and in need of a good clean. The mattresses and couch are old, saggy and uncomfortable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A very comfortable place to stay but some improvements could be made.1. there was no saucepan big enough to boil water to cook pasta2. There was no teapot.3. The curtains are falling down - they need repairing.4. the light in the fridge did not work.5. if lots of people have difficulty opening the pool gate then it would be helpful to put some information about how to open it in the compendium/folder in the property.6. there was minimal natural light in the property - trimming the bushes along the back fence would assist with this.
