Fragrant Harbour is a stunning Margaret River coastal property, positioned on an elevated ridge facing directly west and capturing magnificent 180 degree views of the ocean.

It is perfect for family holidays in summer with its resort style swimming pool and being just 10 mins walk from some of the regions best beaches. It is equally beautiful as a winter retreat with its protected landscaped gardens, cosy log fire and stunning ocean views to enjoy while you relax after a day of wine sampling and sightseeing. Fragrant Harbour is devised as a retreat from the stress and pace of city living, and is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious rental properties in the region.

The house is elegantly designed by a renowned local architect and tastefully styled with a collection of fine artworks and furnishings. There are multiple living and dining areas, and a state-of-the-art kitchen crafted especially for entertaining. It is the heart of the open plan home containing a graceful wave shaped benchtop carved from Corian stone, a banquette seat framing the views of Gnarabup Ridge, chef grade appliances and a separate larder for food storage. The kitchen flows into the main lounge with flat screen TV, modular leather seating and log fire on one side and the main dining area on the other side. On climbing the brushed aluminium and Marri wood spiral staircase,Fragrant Harbour presents another lounge area to relax in featuring an antique Chinese daybed as well as an astronomical telescope. The sliding glass stacker doors open up this retreat and upstairs bedrooms to a huge communal viewing terrace with outdoor lounge and dining areas, from where you can enjoy the spectacular sunsets over a few glasses of Margaret River wine.

Fragrant Harbour can comfortably accommodate 8 in the form of 4 master bedrooms. On the ground floor is the largest bedroom with king size bed with ensuite and the flexible bedroom, which itself can be configured as up to 2 singles or alternatively as a king size bed. A large communal bathroom with shower, spa bath and separate toilet is situated directly opposite this room. Upstairs are 2 further masters, 1 with king size bed and 1 with queen size bed, both with their own ensuites. Each bedroom is individually styled and enjoying relaxing ocean views.

The rear of the property has been landscaped into 3 levels, with sweeping vistas of the Gnarabup ridge. The rear terrace has comfortable lounge and dining areas with BBQ, all well protected from the wind. On the next level down is the outdoor shower, trampoline, lawn and hammock. Then at the bottom of the property is the resort style swimming pool with Balinese bale surrounded by bamboo and manicured gardens and another outdoor shower. Pool toys and inflatables for the kids, as well as snorkelling gear for the beach, are all provided by the pool.

The house is proudly eco-friendly, with solar power supported by battery storage to ensure the house is powered by the sun even at night, a rainwater collection tank to minimise the use of mains water, as well as energy efficient lighting and eco-friendly products used throughout.

There is WIFI throughout the house, as well as a CBus lighting system and Sonos sound system, and reverse cycle air-conditioning and heating.

Fragrant Harbour is conveniently situated very close to local amenities such as the Prevelly General Store, White Elephant Beach Cafe and The Common Bar & Bistro. Gnarabup is child friendly with a park including a playground, and several stunning beaches for both swimming and surfing.

The delightful Margaret River township is a short 10-15 minute drive inland, as are some of the regions very best wineries including Leeuwin Estate, Voyager Estate, Xanadu Estate and Cape Mentelle.

Sunsets, Whales and plenty of space

Really happy with our stay, great views, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which was great for 4 couples. Added bonus was watching whales from the upstairs balcony and then the sun set over the water.

TLC Required

Property was comfortable, however more attention required to the cleaning of it prior to incoming guests would have impressed us more. Coffee stains and cup rings on benches and areas out of view clearly revealed the less than adequate attention. Whilst the pool was a drawcard for us, we had to uncover it ourselves and found it was in need of a good vacuum and not pristine. Would have expected it all set up and ready to go as in the promo photos. Initially could not get air conditioning upstairs operating and did phone owner however no one could come out till the next day and the house was hot so was not impressed. We eventually re set all the power and luckily that got it working. The house was very technical in that light switches and fans were on electronic switches and they would randomly just all go off without notice. Turns out there is a timer function however we could not find any mention of how to work these in the manual provided and had to work out ourselves. TV required like 4 remotes to get going however this maybe a reflection of the area. Anybody not technically minded may find all these difficult. Showers also proved cumbersome as appeared to be pressure issues maybe by a pump that periodically caused lack of water. Blinds upstairs broken in one of the bedrooms so couldn't close and others again on electrical switches. Lots of cupboards out of bounds with private signs allowing little space for guests belongings. Zip tap installed with a sign not working! The provision of pantry essentials was great with no need to go out and get any basics, tea, coffee, oils etc. so that was handy. Overall felt the property was once high end with all its fancy gadgets but now in need of some good maintenence and TLC.
