Loved Old Bay Getaway!

We’ve been visiting Cape Charles several years now and Old Bay Getaway has been our favorite! It was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. It’s very close to the park and easy walk or golf cart ride to the beach, shops and restaurants. It was such a nice feeling of “home” for our family!

Perfect house with all of the amenities. Everything was just as described and then-some. Would stay @ Old Bay again and highly recommend.

Beautiful large home, but maintenance/cleaning concerns

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This fit the bill as we needed a house with a main level bedroom and space for 4 adults to spread out. Upon arrival we had a clogged toilet. Maintenance quickly responded and fixed it, but then left a muddy wet floor that we had to clean. Same shower is not draining, so you shower in standing water. Multiple crusty dirty plates in the cabinets. Otherwise, a beautiful home in a good location.

Perfect get away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Old Bay Getaway is the perfect "get away" from it all! Nestled in the historic district of Cape Charles, the home is nothing but perfectly updated. Nice open floor plan with an enormous great room on the second floor well stocked with games for the entire family. Once we arrived and parked our car we did not need it again. The beach and the center of the town are just a short walk or bike ride from the house. The shed was stocked with bikes, beach chairs, floats, and a kayak. The downtown had a nice variety of shops and restaurants. The grocery store is a short car ride away for essentials if you prefer to cook. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to do your own cooking. Our favorite thing was sitting on the screened-in porch on the back of the house.

Plenty of space for parents, grandparents and kiddos. We had a great time hanging out on the screened in back porch. It comes equipped with alot of extras toys that the kids and adults alike enjoyed. A week we will not soon forget!

Nice experience during offseason visit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall I was very satisfied with the property and rental company. The folks at Chesapeake properties were very friendly and responsive. We encountered an issue with the air conditioning units during our stay and a repair crew was quickly dispatched to the property. Unfortunately only one of the units were able to repaired on the spot, leading to some slightly uncomfortable temps upstairs, but that happens sometimes. Old Bay Getaway was in a great location, with off street parking accessed from the alley behind home. The house was nicely furnished and quite comfortable. It could likely easily handle a party double the size of ours (family of 4). We rented a golf cart and there was an extension cord in garage and outdoor outlet from which we could charge when not in use. there was plenty of space in the driveway for our SUV and golf cart. Everything in town was an easy cart ride. The majority of shops and restaurants would also just be a 10-15 minute walk most likely. The house also included several bikes, beach chairs, etc for use which was appreciated and used. Overall I would definitely stay again if we happen to be in the area.

Great Rental

I was very impressed with the house (Old Bay Getaway). It was in great condition and met our needs perfectly. It was clean and recently updated. The upstairs Entertainment room was great. The house was bigger than it looked in the pictures. 👍👍👍

Wonderful home near the beach in a lovely town

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Old Bay Getaway was the best vacation home! Professionally decorated, immaculate, great location, wonderful amenities. There was room for family members to have their own space when desired (screened in back porch, large family room on second floor, front porch, in addition to the bedrooms). Right next to a great park and a quick golf cart ride to the beach, which was beautiful, calm water, and not too crowded. Close to the area with lovely shops and restaurants. The rental agency was helpful and responsive. What a bonus to have access to the shed full of beach chairs, rafts, bikes, fishing poles, a kayak etc - we only had time to use a few things. The kitchen was fully stocked, including spices for cooking. There were lots of books and board games as well. Simply wonderful!
