Two king bedroom/one bathroom condo on the 3rd level above the Chop Shop. The center of town is less than a mile away, and the building is also home to City Bakery and Bone & Broth restaurants. There is one parking space for this rental located in the parking lot beside and behind the King James Building, and you may park wherever you like as there are no assigned spaces. This neighborhood is known for tree-lined streets, fantastic restaurants and includes the famed Grove Park Inn.
*Please note: There is not an elevator in the building*

The property was clean and had everything we needed for my family of four. We really loved the location. It was over a great bakery/ breakfast place and a restaurant. There are also quaint and delicious restaurants within walking distance from the condo. This condo has been updated but a few elements have been kept to make it very charming, like original wood floors and doors. We had a good time there.
We especially enjoyed the front sunroom with its wall of windows looking out to the neighborhood scenery. Very convenient location overall. Close to everything.
This VRBO was the most perfect location! Walking distance to downtown Asheville! The cutest coffee shop downstairs plus another awesome bakery and coffee shop a small walk to the left! 5 adults stayed celebrating a 40th birthday and we had the best time! The space was such a great size and so quiet. Only downfall was only one bathroom but it was fine! Highly recommend!
We loved the apartment and location! City Bakery right downstairs. Starbucks a short walk of a block away. Another coffee and food place a short walk away and about a 15 minute walk to Shopping on Lexington Ave. close to downtown restaurants and a short 15 minute drive to the Biltmore. It was clean and quiet and a great place - perfect for our girlâs trip to visit the Biltmore and do some Xmas shopping!
My wife and I were getting away for a weekend. This apartment/condo was the perfect place to stay. We walked to downtown to eat at Mellow Mushroom and to get coffee. Those walks were maybe 10 minute walks if that. There are 3 tvs, a regular 12 cup coffee maker, fridge, etc. If stairs are a problem, I wouldnât recommend this placeâŠotherwise, great place.
Great location, very well kept & comfortable stay.

Reviewer Comments:
This unit is very comfortable and impeccably clean. The location couldn't be better, right above a great bakery and a top notch restaurant. It is minutes from Downtown, Trader Joe's, Wholefoods and many other restaurants and activities. As mentioned in other reviews though, it lacks any kind of table & chairs, even though there would be space for such. Every other furniture in the place is wonderful! Very comfortable, spacious, beautiful & clean.Towns Property was great in sending us all the necessary information ahead of time, so our arrival was smooth and our stay was excellent.
The apartment is very cute and in a great location. The beds are comfortable. Iâm normally a very positive person and donât generally complain but there are several things to know about this property.
The bathroom has a claw foot tub shower with a curtain surround. It is difficult/potentially dangerous getting in and out of the shower. There is nowhere to place shampoo or soap unless you carefully balance it on the faucet handle and cross your fingers it doesnât fall. The curtains touch you when you shower. There is nowhere to set anything down in the bathroom other than on top of the toilet. There is a pedestal sink and a medicine cabinet. There is room for a table and towel bar. You can move a table from another room but it took us a couple of days to realize that.
There is a kitchen and room for a small dining table but they donât have one so there is no seating for eating food other than on the couch.
Five minutes before check in we still didnât have check in instructions or contact information so I had to reach out to VRBO for contact info and they provided a phone number. I text the phone number but figured out that they only have a land line so I called to get instructions.
I travel a lot and almost always there is a snack or something to make you feel welcome. This property doesnât have that which really isnât a big deal but I think it fits the overall theme of just having the basics or minimum amenities.
We have three females in our group and there could easily be an additional spot for people to get ready. The decorative mirrors are hung so high they arenât usable for getting ready. There is no full length mirror. Again not a big deal but itâs really just the basics.
I searched for check out instructions in the apartment but couldnât find anything. I logged in to VRBO looking but nothing was there either. In general they could make things easier and more convenient for the guests. Another example of this is the front door code has no pattern or easy numbers to remember.
They are just missing lots of easy opportunities to make the guests stay more convenient and more comfortable. Most of what I listed are really easy and inexpensive fixes. The one that isnât easy but would make a huge difference is adding a real shower.
Other than those things the apartment is cute and again in a great location.
Everything was Excellent as mentioned in reviews, except that it was on the third floor which may pose a problem for some. There was a lovely full kitchen but no table or chair to eat a meal. The restaurants Bone & Broth and City Bakery were top notch and are highly recommended. Its a great location if you have a car but a little far to walk to the center of town if you don't.
Clean, cute little place in good location. Only negative was the bathroom shower/ tub was a bit awkward, with no place to place toiletries. However that would not stop us from returning again.
What we LOVED: location, restaurants below our apt. and everywhere, adequate towels, clean, private, modern conveniences: 3 TVs, washer, dryer, etc., closet with hangers, medicine cabinet for toiletries, new furniture.
What could be IMPROVED: add small bar or kitchen table (nowhere to eat other than in living room), add small table to bathroom for misc items (we put side table from extra room in there), add attachment to clawtub to hold soap, shampoo, etc., add places for wet towels (more hooks?), add bathtub anti-slip stickers - this is safety issue.
Luckily, we brought a clothes rack and there were only three of us.
We are glad we stayed here because of access to the city!
We loved staying here. My husband and I spent a long weekend with another couple celebrating a wedding and Asheville. This was the perfect little spot. What you havenât heard enough about is the fact that this place is above a butcher and every time you open the door it smells like delicious smoked meat. The accommodations are small so this was great for a weekend full of events while we were out and about. And the beds were actually comfortable!!
The property is very nice and easily accessible as well as being centrally located in regard to our planned activities. The ease with which the rental process went was much appreciated. We had a great getaway in a beautiful condo!
Unit was really cute and clean. Was spacious and beds were great. Bathroom was a challenge as the tub/shower was difficult to get into with no real place to put soaps and such. The shower curtain was very claustrophobic and opening in awkward place. Would suggest labeling the light switches as they were not obvious. The sunroom was a great room, would be a really good place for a futon for extra sleeping rather than pull out couch. Overall was a great place for our fun time together!!
The apartment is so well done up. The location is fantastic and having the smell of smoked meat from the butcher shop greeting you upon your arrival is divine!
We stayed here for a staycation and it was exceptional. Clean and well described and represented. Easy access with wonderful eats downstairs. Look forward to visiting with you again!
My daughter and I had a great weekend staying in this condo. Had the weather been more cooperative we certainly would have walked more given the convenience to down town. My only issue was that originally the price presented on VRBO during my search was under $200 but when I clicked and began applying, the price jumped to over $200. The price originally listed should be the price.
I love that it was next to a delicious bakery and parking was no problem, finding the entrance was a little confusing at first and it was a lot of stairs. I just wish it had a kitchen table otherwise it was great! Had no issues, didnât need to reach out to the host. Try the local chocolate place if you have time it was so good!
Clean, attractive and comfortable. Just as described in the listing. Be careful getting into the tub/shower -- it's a standalone clawfoot tub requiring a large step up. With only the edge of the tub to grab hold of, you must be able to keep your balance. Also, soap for both the sink and the tub/shower would have been nice.
City Bakery, on the first floor, was a great breakfast spot.
Finally, nothing to do with the amazing lodging itself -- we liked it very much -- but people are sleeping outside, in front of the building across the street. Gazing out from the living room alcove early one November morning (43 degrees), you could see an assortment of sleeping bags, grocery bags, and bedding, scattered about the entrance to an office building. One person was getting dressed, cars driving by, sun shining brightly. I didn't expect it, I didn't know what to make of it, and I'm still thinking about it.
