Family-friendly cottage right on Drag River

A cozy, family-friendly cottage on a well treed lot located right on the Drag River. This unique space offers a quiet getaway surrounded by nature. Inside you'll find 2 bedrooms (Bedroom 1 has 1 queen bed; Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed with double bed on bottom and single bed on top), a recently renovated bathroom, eat-in kitchen and family room with futon. We also have a bunkie (June 2021) with bunk beds and a futon. **Please note - the bunkie is unavailable during the winter months as it is not heated**

Enjoy the sounds of nature on the large deck or sit around the camp fire. Entertain yourself by swimming, fishing, canoeing, tubing down the river right to our dock, sun bathing, walking/hiking or cozying up to watch a movie through Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or our expansive DVD collection. Sit back, relax and enjoy your time here!

Short driving distance to hiking trails, restaurants, Minden Whitewater Water Preserve, Minden River Walk, and the famous Kawartha Dairy.

Great little cottage!

We had a fantastic time at this cottage! It's clean, comfortable, and packed with great amenities, right by the water. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure their guests have an enjoyable stay. We'll definitely be booking again soon!

Relaxation at its best

What a beautiful property! Went with the family and had a terrific time. Tubing, fishing off the dock and the firepit at night was so relaxing. Karen was very responsive and was a pleasure to deal with! This might become a yearly visit for us!

Beautiful spot on the river

Lovely cottage with everything you need, and more! Perfect setting for just sitting and listening to the river flow to relax and unwind. Very comfortable and inviting.

Cute cottage

Wonderful little cottage with everything you could possibly need. Location was perfect! The river location was fun and we highly recommend using the water rings. Communication with the host was excellent and we definitely book again if we were in the area.

Beautiful location

The cottage was small, cute, and clean, nestled in the trees over the river. Loved hearing the water flowing over the rocks. Swimming by the bridge, and tubing to the cottage was the highlite!

Relaxing getaway!

The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Such a beautiful view looking out onto Drag River. The wood stove keep us warm and cozy. Lots of trails close by for hiking too. Great cottage if you’re looking to disconnect and relax.

Awesome Getaway

Had an amazing time! It was very private and the sound of the river was wonderful. We had beautiful campfires went tubing, fishing, swimming and enjoyed movies and games inside and outdoors. The host was awesome and so helpful. Great little gem!

Peaceful retreat

Everything was awsome from the minute we walked in the door. It is so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was clean and stocked with everything you need and more! All you need to bring is you clothes and food . The bottle of wine that was left for us was a very nice touch. We are definitely coming back here.

Nice secluded cottage but near 2 towns for anything you need. Gracious and communicative hosts. Peaceful spot. Will be back for sure! Glad we came in our suv for the end of winter road conditions.

Lovely little cottage on a gorgeous stretch of river

We stayed at the cottage over Easter wknd and had an absolutely lovely time. It was chilly outside but so cozy and warm indoors. We got out for a few hikes and played along the river's edge, had a few campfires and enjoyed the supply of boardgames and dvds. We hope to come back again soon. Maybe next time in warmer weather so we can play in the river!

Cute and Comfortable

This property was a pleasure to stay at. The kitchen was very well equipped and only lacked for proper (glass) wine glasses. The living room had an abundance of good reading lights which is something that many rental cottages lack. It was lovely to hear the babbling river as we enjoyed happy hour on the sunny deck. A real pleasure!

We recently stayed at this charming cottage booked via VRBO and had an exceptional experience. The views were absolutely stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop for our entire stay. We just got back from the weekend stay at this beautiful cottage. It was very quiet and the place is very secluded so there is a complete privacy. We really liked that there were several places outside where we could sit and relax. In this way, each couple had their own space to sit and enjoy the view. We fished from the dock. The most successful fishing is in the evening, after 5 pm. The place is clean, warm and has everything you wish for.

Relaxing, quiet, scenic retreat

The property is clean and well stocked for what you need on the inside and outside. Every year I choose a place and go on a solo adventure. Karen and Peter's cottage as well as the area did not disappoint! Karen was extremely helpful with questions prior to my arrival, they leave a super informative packet upon arrival and are readily available for additional questions. It was a great place to relax, write music, grill out, read... all of it. Great hiking spots nearby as well. The property and the trails were postcard worthy. I highly recommend this spot.

A true cottage experience

My family of 5 had a wonderful time at Karen and Peter's lovely cottage. The cottage itself is very well cared for and very homey. We were looking for a true cottage experience--cozy, comfortable and quiet--and this place did not disappoint. The location was stunning, perched on a hill above the river, surrounded by woods and even with the winter trees bare, lots of solitude and privacy. Karen and Peter are great hosts, very responsive and accommodating, and helped make our stay easy and carefree. We would definitely go back. Thank you, Karen and Peter!

In any weather, would immensely recommend to anyone :)

Stayed two nights and had the best time with family, that was visiting from abroad. Got a lot of rain the first day and a half but the cabin is very cozy (fairy tale like), so didn’t matter at all. We watched a movie from the DVDs available and played board games. Once the weather got a bit better after the big rain, we went for a short hike, and made warm fire at night! Last day was really sunny and thankfully we were able to get late check out, so got to enjoy the beautiful lake and rapids :) Definitely would come back. Thanks again!

Great family vacation!

Loved our stay. Highlights were bringing the provided tubes down the lane and tubing back to the cottage down the river. Some days the rapids were quite exciting! Also the sun set right on the dock and various seating areas. Beautiful views! Brand new kayak and many other water toys and sports provided. Great fishing too! Caught a fish every time we cast our line. There were 2 adults and 2 teenagers and just enough room. There is a bunkie as described but more of a camping experience out there than the luxuries of a cottage. Also no cell service but wifi worked great! Over all a very peaceful getaway!

We weren't impressed with the hair and dust in the beds and fridge. There was loose cheezies left on the top shelf in one of the cupboards. There was no milk jug, juice jug or kettle in the cottage, these are basics.

Disappointing

Really wasn't anywhere to relax and read a book outside or limited options to sit in, water (river) was very weedy and we ended up getting what the pharmacists in town called swimmers itch from the river. The cottage is quite dark and set back in trees so limited light wasn't ideal. Overall very mediocre and really limited water activities to take part in with the weedy shallow water.
