This house was lovely. Remote and tucked away in the mountains. The weather could not be better. Though you need a 4x4 to climb the long driveway, the location did not disappoint. I will recommend this place highly and I will like to return sometime soon. Highlands is a quaint little town with fabulous restaurants.
House itself is great. Maybe a touch small for larger families, but well decorated and very clean. Lots of nice little touches. A few cons:Kitchen has the basics, but is on the smaller side. Porch is a bit rustic and the fireplace didn't work great (perhaps because it was very rainy during our stay).Pay attention to the reviews about the driveway. We had no problem getting up the hill in our van during a sunny day, but had an issue after some intense rain. I wouldn't want to navigate the driveway in rain or snow even in a highly capable 4x4. Property manager was helpful in getting us sorted after our van slid in the mud. All in, a pretty house in a beautiful area. Probably best for couples or small families.

Rough driveway.
All ok except very steep very rough very long driveway was not appropriate for a luxury sedan. Had I known about the rough driveway, I would not have rented this property.
We had a great stay - Holly was very responsive and helpful. The beds and bedding were so nice and comfy! The home is well lit, both inside and outside! Appreciated the night lights strategically placed too! Only a few miles from town and dry falls which was nice and fun! Plenty of seating in living room and at kitchen table which was nice! The woods were definitely bushy (as expected) but we still had a great time exploring with the kids - it was wonderful having so much open space!
Only downfalls: there were massive amounts of yellow jackets - not much I think anyone can do about that, honestly, but they had made nests right by front walkway and back stairs off deck so they were swarming everywhere - we even had to enter through the back door once as there were so many and we already had a few stings. The road is really rough to the house - it was fine in our SUV during this time of the year but I would be nervous during the winter.
Overall we had a great stay in the Highlands, as always, and the house was perfect for what we needed!
Have stayed in several VRBOs and this one was perfect! Very clean and exactly as described, communication from prior to booking through the end of our stay was amazing. Book this cabin, you will not be sorry
My husband and I with our 2 dogs stayed here and loved every minute! We had a friend and her son join us for a night. The home looks small, but there was plenty of room for us all. Itâs peaceful and quiet, which makes for a great getaway! Holly was very accessible and helpful! The driveway is a little steep, but it wasnât at all a problem to drive up or down!
Fabulous except for the incoming road. Might need a truck or SUV. But once you are there, you wonât want to leave. All you can hear is the wind in the leaves.
