Overall a great spot for our family Fourth of July outing. Close to downtown (5 min drive). Private spacious porch and clean. Would rent again. Thanks!
Cannot beat the location. I clocked an 11 minute walk to town. Very close to Sunset Rock which I hiked one morning and saw 3 bears! We liked that our kids had their own bedroom AND bathroom. For a small house this is a huge benefit. The kitchen and master bathroom have upgrades which is nice. The house would benefit from a fresh coat of paint indoors and some updated decor.
Everyone loved the fun vibe of the house. It allowed us to relax and enjoy our time together. Very well-furnished. Within walking distance of downtown, also easy drives to other points of interest.
Enjoyed staying at this property and would gladly rent it again. The proximity to town was wonderful. Enjoyed not having to bring our home with us (ie: paper towels, sheets, plates, etc).
Good space, floor plan and not far from town. Met our needs for sure. Needs a thorough cleaning though. Cobwebs and dead spiders were noted. Hard to park because the driveway and parking area were so covered with leaves you couldn't see the edges. But we did enjoy our long anniversary weekend there.
We loved staying at this property. The owner was quick to respond to our questions. The location was so close to downtown Highlands and other locations we visited. We would definitely stay here again.
The location was wonderful and the house was very clean and comfortable for our family. We came to the Highlands to attend a wedding and the house worked perfectly for our needs.
Glad we found this house! We need a paved driveway and road, and cover for the motorcycle, this house has it all. Master bedroom and bath: lovely and updated, listening to rain on the skylights - heavenly. The bed was high and soft but not a big issue. Plenty of closet and drawer space. We only used the front 2 bathrooms, everything worked. Gas fireplace worked partially, being fixed to work fully. We cooked light meals; the kitchen was fine. Cooked on the grill, thanks for having charcoal and fluid on hand. Wonderful to have a fridge with a water and ice dispenser. Lovely front porch great for rocking, reading, and wine drinking. And yoga! Even though there are houses around itâs super peaceful and secluded. Walk into town is about 15 easy minutes, part of it doesnât have sidewalks, but traffic is light. Downtown Highlands has many shops and restaurants, Dry Falls is fabulous, paved parking. This house is an excellent place to visit on a motorcycle. Thanks to Nicole for answering our questions and putting our minds at ease about bringing a motorcycle to this property. (As I beg all hosts, more towel hooks in bathrooms please and unscented soap and detergent is much appreciated.) Bike rider tip; go up the road further, back into a neighborâs driveway, then hit the house driveway from that angle. Much easier. Also, when you leave the house, talk your buddy into standing guard on the road below so they can signal you if a car is coming; the corner is a blind spot.
Overall the house was what we were looking for, a cozy place to stay in walking proximity to Main Street. I would have liked if there had been extra blankets in the living room and extra bath towels in the front bathroom. The house was definitely clean, but when we arrived we found a dead mouse in the kitchen/dining area. We took care of it and had no issues the rest of our stay.
We had a wonderful weekend. The house was nice, in a quiet neighborhood and close to downtown. We enjoyed the covered front porch and the fact that there was a bathroom for each bedroom. It was also nice that the house was well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. so that I did not need to pack those items.
The only positive about this property is that the house is spacious. The owner needs to spend a week on the property and clean and update. Lamps are fire hazards. Furniture covered in dust.
The smoke alarm was missing, the hall bath was okayâŠ.until the shower rod and curtain decided to fall while I was in the tub. The owner should make sure this is secured to the wall for future renters. All the bedrooms are nice, except in the bedroom off of the kitchen, room darkening shades would be nice.
Upon arriving, there was a poor appearance. Leaves and cobwebs on the outside. My husband found the leave blower and cleaned up so my daughter in laws would not notice the spiders (we noticed gutters on roof were full of leaves and twigs and needed attention badly.). We were notified about the tarp on the roof but when there was a thunderstorm on Thursday, there was dripping from door frame and 1st skylight into the main bedroom. We used trash cans to catch the drips. Lots of cobwebs inside upon arrival - dining room ceiling, between windows and screens and skylights. Walk to Main Street was a longer than we anticipated half way there wasnât a sidewalk. Property was stuck in the 1970âs - needed painted, lots of nail marks in walls, TVs were analogs, position of TV in main bedroom was poorly located. On the bright side - bathrooms and kitchen were updated. Washer and dryer worked well.
