PET FRIENDLY! The Lazy Pelican East is half of a duplex with four bedrooms and three baths, sleeping up to 10 guests. Both sides may be rented together and there is an interior pass-through door between the two sides. The Lazy Pelican West is Vrbo #9563220. This is the perfect home for your large family gathering! Past guests have complimented the convenient location and the kid-friendly beach right outside your door. And don't forget those beautiful sunsets!!

One dog 15 lbs or less will be allowed to accommodate you on your visit to The Lazy Pelican. If you are bringing a pet, please let us know and there will be a $150, non-refundable pet fee added to your stay. If any additional cleaning is needed, this will be billed to your credit card.

The duplex features both Gulf-beach access across the street (approximately 200 yards away) and a neighborhood, shared pier on Little Lagoon which the house faces This is the perfect spot to fish, dock your small boat or jet skis, watch the pelicans play all day and then catch an amazing sunset!

The living area overlooks Little Lagoon and opens up to an outdoor deck area with plenty of seating to enjoy your morning coffee or family dinner. The dining area seats six with six bar stools for additional seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you could need in your home away from home.

The main floor features two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed and access to a south-facing balcony. The second bedroom is perfect for children with two sets of twin bunk beds. *Children six years or younger should not be permitted on the top bunk. Also on the main level is one full bath and a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

Upstairs, you will find two more bedrooms featuring king beds in both and attached full bathrooms. The primary bathroom also features a jetted tub.

The Lazy Pelican is located just three miles west of Hwy. 59 in Gulf Shores on a quiet cul de sac, so you have easy access to all the Gulf Shores has to offer. It is across the street from the Gulf and has deeded beach access by walking under the Little Lagoon bridge (approximately 200 yards away.) The home sits directly on Little Lagoon and has its own sandy beach area behind the house, which is perfect for the littles!

You can go to every one of these activities every day, and one person will be free per day. Additional guests will pay full price. Admissions are non-cumulative and non-transferable. So yes, you may choose to go fishing in the morning (one person is free), then golf at lunch (one person is free), and then go to the zoo that afternoon (one person is free). Or you may choose to go to the zoo in the morning with the kids (one person is free), and your husband can play golf (one person is free) and then meet that afternoon to go on the dolphin cruise (one person is free.) You may do some or all of these select activities every day, and one of your parties is free every day.

These activities are yours to use if you choose to do so at no additional cost or obligation.

Off Season Getaway

My family rents a house in Gulf Shores for the Month of November every year. This house fit our needs very well with easy access to the beach as well as a pier directly off the back deck for lagoon fishing. Had some technical difficulties with the cable and internet but property manager was very responsive and had issue fixed within a few hours. Good value for the location and 4 bedroom is perfect size for my family. I would recommend and rent again.

The Lazy Pelican East

I was very disappointed in the pride of ownership in this property. It is very clear that you are not concerned with the up keep of this property. I actually spent the first hour or so of my stay cleaning all the light switches, window ledges and door handles. The light switches looked as though they had not been cleaned in months. They were disgusting. You also have a mold problem in your ventilation. You can see this very visible in return vents and vents in the walls. The dishwasher was not working properly and would not dry the dishes. We did contact the number given to us and they said they would send someone out to check it out but at no point during our stay did the dishwasher work correctly and we never saw anyone come so we can assume it wasn't addressed. The yard area to the side and back of the home had trash and weeds everywhere. I feel you could take more time to at least make sure trash is cleaned up and the beach area is open sand and not a majority of weeds. The flooring and trim are not in good condition and the trim is moldy and broken in many spots. The only thing I did appreciate was the location with the lagoon right out the back and that the floors and beds were clean upon arrival. We would not recommend this home and if we return we plan on staying in orange beach. We will also know to ask more questions about the property and be more open with the people running the home about our expectations.

Great home but could use some updates

We recently stayed at this property for our beach vacation. The house was nice overall. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. The kitchen needed some more cleaning. The shelves in the pantry were gross. Dishes were not clean, but then we realized it was probably because the dishwasher did NOT clean the dishes. Probably a combination of it needing serviced and we could never get hot water to the sink. Luckily we brought paper plates and plastic wear. The microwave and stove/oven needed to be cleaned. The grill downstairs worked, but is probably a fire hazard in its current condition. The upstairs patio had a shade to close for privacy from neighbors but was broke. The walls and baseboards definitely needed cleaning. We thought about calling but then our vacation would be interrupted by cleaning & maintenance crews. For as much as they charge for a cleaning fee, it should have been cleaned better and inspected by management company before arrival. The dock and beach access to the bay was amazing!! Beautiful view for sunset and sunrise. Overall, it was fine…but would probably stay somewhere different next time.

Home was clean. Dishwasher needed service (water not heating). Attentive service immediately Shampoo and conditioner were great on my curly, frizzy hair, and smells wonderful! Little kids loved the calmer waters of the lagoon, which made nap times easier, as we didn’t have to drag them across the street…

Beautiful scenery. Loved the small private beach and close access across the street to the main beach. The small private beach was perfect for our 1 year old granddaughter. The peir was also nice to sit on and fish.

We absolutely loved the the property, great location and setting. Private beach never a crowd, very relaxing weekend. Got updates daily on tides, and checking in to make sure everything was ok.

Great location for Family

This property is perfect for the water activity family. Duplex home would be even better for larger groups. Far enough away from tourist activities but close enough to go join in. Can't wait to return

Good Dishwasher did not clean dishes. Down stairs bed is terrible needs to be replaced! Gave me a soar back. Ice dispenser only gave you crushed ice and water no cubes.

Was the perfect place to vacation with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren ages 2 and 4.

We enjoyed the location, having both the lagoon area as well as the beach close by. This made it easy with the grandchildren. We all had a great time, my 4 year old grandson didn’t want to leave our beach home!

Incredible property and fabulous location!

This property was all we hoped for - and more. The property itself was in great shape and exceptionally clean. The kitchen was also well stocked and met our needs beautifully. In addition to the home however, the location was absolutely perfect. The beach was only a short walk but the property is located on a lagoon with a small inlet on one side. It was a perfect place for the kids, ages 2 to 6, to swim and play in the sand. Not having to stay right on top of them, as in at the beach with waves to worry about, was so nice and relaxing. Moreover, they loved catching crabs, minnows, etc. The dock was in great shape as well with tons of fish in the lagoon. It's a great place for kayaking, jet-skiing and all water sports in general. This truly was an incredible property and fabulous location. As such, I would recommend it to anyone who likes to have fun in the sun!

A great family spot!

A great house to combine multiple families. Two bedrooms with bathrooms upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs was perfect for our family of 5, my parents, and my sister and her husband and newborn baby. We were slightly concerned about it being a duplex , but it was no issue at all - our neighbors were kind and they could not hear my loud children at night through the house - WHEW! The private beach is bayfront and PERFECT for any family with littles. Will definitely book again!

Great stay for a group

This location is perfect! We were just a short walk from the ocean and private beach. The property backed right up to the lagoon, and with the dock and water access right there, our kids had stuff to do while we were at the property. The only downside is that the property next door was under construction, so our parking situation was dicey each day. Other than that, this property was perfect!!

This property was well kept and clean. We enjoyed our stay there and loved the way the back of the house was situated toward the bay. We were able to spend a lot of time enjoying the bay using the dock. The appliances were also top notch and I loved that there wasn't carpet anywhere in the property.

Great Choice

This condo was very nice and accommodated my family perfectly. The door code worked promptly at 4pm for a seamless checkin. It wasn't on the beach but directly across the street so we didn't feel like we missed out and we even had a pier with beautiful pelicans. I only gave 2 stars on cleanliness because the staff didn't do a great job overall on cleaning. It wasn't filthy but the sheets and bathroom definitely got missed. It could've been an isolated incident so I won't hold it against them. I sent an email about it and someone responded in decent time trying to remedy the situation so I couldn't even stay mad. It was an easy fix and things do happen. Book your stay and enjoy!

Beach and Bay views are perfect

What a fantastic time we had at the lovely Lazy Pelican! The condo is in a special location because it’s overlooking the bay and you can see the Gulf from the front of the home. We enjoyed our morning coffee watching the sunrise in the East (to our right) while watching the waves wash in at shore at the bay in our backyard. We walked to the Gulf where we went over to enjoy the beach, walk along the shore and collect shells. It’s close to restaurants, grocery and liquor store, fish market and ice cream shop. In the early afternoon we’d sit under the back deck that has picnic tables and porch swings to read. We had our family and friends over to watch the sunset from our backyard deck in the evening. The bayside is perfect for kayaking and kids to make sandcastles in the sugar white sand. It was nice watching the pelicans sit on the dock and fish for their dinner. The home is very clean and stocked with everything you need for your home away from home beach trip. We are looking forward to returning because we miss it already.
