Built in 1907, this craftsman home offers travelers a chance to experience some of Austin's history while enjoying modern conveniences. Great wifi throughout and Smart TVs in every bedroom.
The Space:
Please note, all guests staying at a Portoro home are required to sign a rental agreement.
You'll have the entire place to yourself. Just 1.5 miles to downtown and no more than 2 miles to the UT campus. And walking distance to Lady Bird Hike and Bike Trails, Barton Springs, Zilker Park (ACL Fest) and SXSW events.
This house is in the center of everything, while offering a quiet retreat at the end of the day.
Notable hot spots close by:
Swedish Hill Bakery (Coffee), El Arroyo (Mexican), 24 Diner, Clarkâs Oyster Bar (Seafood), Mean Eyed Cat (Music Venue), Nightcap (Bar & Desserts), Wholefoodâs Headquarters (Grocery & Dining), and tons of restaurants and bars on w.6Th St â also within walking distance.

We do require additional cleaning fees for guests staying longer than 3 weeks. Your Guest Ambassador will coordinate the cleaning schedule for a minimum of once every 2 weeks. You can request cleanings more frequently if desired. Additional cleaning charges will be sent using a payment request or resolution request, immediately following the cleaning.
Guest Access:
We offer convenient keyless door codes for self-check-in. Portoro Homes uses smart locks with check-in details provided 48 hours prior to arrival by email and text message.
âą Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.

Historic Clarksville Neighborhood. Two blocks from W 6TH Street.
Check out one of the moon towers at the corner of 12th and Blanco. Erected in 1895.
Getting Around:
Austin offers plenty of transportation options. Ride sharing, micro mobility, and mass transit are available everywhere. The airport is just 30 minutes away.
Other Things to Note:
Note: Two of the beds are IKEA lightweight stackable twin beds, located in an enclosed air-conditioned sunroom. Access to the sunroom is either through another bedroom or via a separate door leading directly to the front porch
Prior to check-in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival. Pack n Plays or High Chairs must be requested prior to arrival. We provide a small table top board for ironing (found in the laundry area).
Parking enough for 1 car in the driveway, and plenty of curbside parking in front of the house.
No parties please. We do not mind you having a few friends over, but no big parties. This is a quiet neighborhood.
HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: Both the City of Austin and the State of Texas requires all hotel and vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these two taxes within the booking transaction. The state requires 6% and the city requires 11%.
YOU ARE HELPING: A portion of the city hotel tax helps support Austin's musicians and related businesses.
For the safety of guests and the home, there are noise monitoring devices. These devices only measure the decibel level and do NOT record any audio.
Interaction with Guests:
Portoro Homes communicates via email and phone. After a booking is confirmed, rental agreement will be emailed to the guest for e-signature. Check-in instructions are sent by email and text message 48 hours prior to arrival date (keyless entry). We offer convenient keyless entry for self-check with no need to stop in at a local office.
